Story
Buddy is an active, loyal, and sociable 5 1/2 yr old German Shepherd Mix, and was the runt in a litter of 7 unexpected pups, born to our older Purebred GS female in October of 2018. I also own two other older purebred GS, also born here at home. When Buddy's left hind leg was unfortunately injured in November of 2021 (how it happened in our fenced in yard is unknown), he amazingly recovered from an amputation. In October of 2021, I survived a heart attack and was still in recovery when Buddy was injured. Fortunately, as an elderly woman, I have recovered well, but have come to realize that I no longer have the strength, stamina or energy to adequately take care of such a younger and more active dog. Two of the photos submitted were taken BEFORE his amputation.

Story
Samson is about 1 year old and was apparently dumped in the National forest. I tried for almost 2 months to find the owner without success. He is happy, smart, loving, and has some obedience training. We have to find him a good home where he will be the only pet or he can be with a female pet (my females love him). My Labradoodle brothers keep picking on him and won't let him be part of the family.

Story
Mr. Cheddar came to us from a rescue transfer where the rescue team was much more familiar with adopting out pitties and pittie mixes and asked us for some help finding this young German Shepherd boy a home! He is a fun and friendly boy who loves everyone he meets! Cheddar is kennel trained and appears to be housetrained. He is up to date on shots and preventatives and has already been neutered. However, Cheddar is heartworm positive and beginning treatment soon. Cheddar can be adopted on a veterinary care contract to ensure he finishes his treatment, but that means he can get into his forever home as soon as we find them!

Story
Evie was rescued from being euthanized at the shelter. She was surrendered because a family expected their teenage son to fully care for her and when he didn't, they dumped her. Evie is a sweet girl, she just takes a second to warm up to new people. She has been to obedience training, and knows all her basic commands. She is also fully crate trained. Evie is a sweet girl that is intelligent and listens extremely well. Evie is one of those dogs where as long as she has her tennis ball she is all good to go! She will chase her ball for hours and hours. She is dog friendly and ready for her forever home.  If you are interested in adopting me, please go to the Ozzie and Friends website https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org  August 19, 2024, 6:54 pm

Story
Hello, I am Batman! I am an older Husky Shepherd mixed breed weighing 75 pounds. I like to go on outdoor adventures and explore new things. Hiking, walks, and outdoor playtime are my things. I am affectionate, loving and loyal. One thing to know, fireworks scare me. I am somewhat trained, however I have lived in the sanctuary for a while. I am looking for a loving and patient family or best friend to learn and grow with. By adopting Batman, you not only gain a loyal and loving companion, but you also give him a second chance at happiness.  If you are interested in adopting me, please go to the Ozzie and Friends website https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.or g  August 19, 2024, 6:54 pm

NOTE: $100.00 of Tripp's adoption fee has been sponsored; his adoption fee is now $150.00. Meet Tripp (short for Tripod), a three-legged German Shepherd mix, about 5 years old and 55lbs. Tripp was hit by a car and his best outcome was to have his left front leg amputated. Tripp is leash-, potty- and crate-trained. He is a very good boy looking for a home to be so spoiled in.  But don’t let his disability fool you, Tripp is a puppy at heart! He is silly and playful and runs around the backyard with his foster sister, LuvBug. When he's not playing, you will find Tripp snoozing on the couch. Wherever you are, that’s where he wants to be. He has the cutest squeal when he's excited to see you! Tripp is good with small humans and other dogs. He should be watched around small animals; he has shown some prey drive with my chickens, although he will listen when I tell him no.  ASVT does not have a facility; all of our adoptable pets live in volunteer foster homes until they are adopted. No one takes a salary so all donations and grants are used for the rescue animals. August 19, 2024, 10:11 pm

Story
*currently fostered in Houston Texas, available for out of state adoptions via rescue transportation. Video meet and greet available prior to commitment* This dog is a collaborative effort betweent Moka's Mission and Houston Chow Chow Connection. Mocha is a fluffy mixed pup just eager to find her new lease in life. She was rescued from a kill shelter in Texas just moments before being euthanized. She is believed to be around 4 years old, and based on behaviors definitely has GSD, Chow Chow, and even possibly husky mixed in her as well. Current weight around 65, 70 lbs. Upon arrival to the group, she was very reserved, uninterested in people and was more likely to growl or snap in your direction with things she was uncomfortable with. After spending time with behaviorists it was determined that she was most likely an outside dog that did not get proper attention or exercise. She also was abused in some manner as things such as brooms, vacuums, and raising sticks/newspapers resulted in fearful behaviors. Its no wonder she was in a state of survival and distrust with humans. Thankfully after spending time getting consistent exercise, positive reinforcement discipline and affection, she has blossomed into a smiling, eager to please, extremely intelligent pup who clearly has been desperate for reaching a potential that was never offered to her prior. She loves to play with toys now,( was unfamiliar with on arrival) and can be quirky, and vocal during her playful bouts. A game of tug which result in some head pats is her favorite. She also is very smart, and when given attention and motivation is quick to learn. She already knows several basic commands including sit, shake, kennel, wait, settle, and leave it. She is extremely versatile and once she trusts you, will give you her best. If you want to go hiking or exercise, she is all about it. If you want a pup to relax in the home and enjoy a movie day, she is ready! Her previous owners clearly left her unsocialized and to her own devices. This has resulted in high energy when around other dogs and an inability to socialize currently. So we do think she'd be best as an only pup. Proper continued socialization training would be required in order for us to feel confident about her being in a home with other dogs. She clearly has a desire to want to know other dogs, but hasn't had enough time and proper playmates to engage in socialization at present. We also believe she is much more focused without competition. This also applies to cats as she does has some prey drive, as is not unexpected in such breeds. Mocha is fully vetted meaning she is up to date on vaccinations, spayed, microchipped and on monthly prevention for flea, tick, and heartworm. Her adoption fee and transport is dependant on services used. For more information on Mocha, please contact us at MokasMission@Gmail.com, or to apply for adoption please fill out an application here: https://form.jotform.com/41173109602142

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Introducing a very lucky and adorable litter of puppies named Asher, Bonnie, Ginger and Maggie, who were found cruelly abandoned at an industrial site without food or water.  Since we have no idea what their mom and dad(s) looked like, we're taking a guess there's some German Shepherd in there, along with a potential variety of other breeds.  It's likely that, based on their estimated age to weight ratio Maggie will end up being around 50 lbs when grown.  These pups were extremely fortunate to be rescued by a wonderful SPCA PETSSNAP volunteer who is fostering them.  She reports that even at a young age they quickly learned to use a doggie door to go potty outside--not a single pooh in the house, though they still 'dribble' some when they become excited or scared.  In their foster home they've been well behaved around kids, other dogs, cats and even chickens!  They all walk well on a leash now and are learning basic commands.         They all seemed quite easy going and calm at their first Petco adoption day and their foster says all four of them love to snuggle. They're all current on their vaccinations, worming, flea control and heartworm prevention and have a HomeAgain microchip with a lifetime registration.  All this for an adoption fee of just $125 each!  If one of these precious pups has captured your heart, please click on the green arrow icon near the top of the page to submit an online application (no cost or obligation).Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 19, 2024, 9:09 pm
