Story
Nutella Croissant is a joyful German Shorthaired Pointer (born 4/2020) who loves snuggling, running around the backyard, napping on the couch in the shape of a croissant (where she gets the second half of her name) and showing off her great leash skills on walks. Nutella is house-trained, crate-trained, and knows basic commands - but for a treat or two, she'll happily learn anything new.  She's happy to run around outside if you don't have time for a daily walk.  Nutella has anxiety, but does well in a kennel or at home by herself.  She currently takes medication to help with anxiety. True to her breed, Nutella loves people and is wonderful around kids and babies of any age. Not so true to her breed, Nutella is terrified of hunting. So while she wouldn't make a good hunting buddy, this sweetheart would love to be your or your toddler's couch companion.  She loves to burrow under soft blankets and would prefer to sleep in the bed, but will do well if set up in her own space for the night. Nutella would do best in a home with a fenced yard, where she is the only pet as she struggles to share food and toys, and she would love an owner who will lavish her in cuddles and play.  Having a personal space for Nutella to dine by herself will help with food issues.  Nutella does well with some small dogs that are also submissive, but she really needs to be the only dog in the house.  She does not do well with cats. The suggested adoption donation for Nutella is $375, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we only assist the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time owner,s find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue, and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption. Adoptions for Nutella are limited to the area within 50 miles of Omaha so that she can continue to take advantage of free training from our certified positive reinforcement trainers. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. Story
He is a very sweet and loving dog. A tad sassy when he wants something (food) but its cute. He loves to burn energy and run around and go on walks. He isn't the best at walks (likes to tug). Tired training classes but he just does his own thing. He's a wonderful dog but i am moving and can't afford to take him with me. Hoping to find someone to love him unconditionally and give him the home he needs. He is kennel trained for when i leave the house. He loves his chew toys! He is a chewer but he doesn't chew what he isn't supposed to. He is a pure bred and i have the paperwork for him that i got when adopted. He has all his shots but is coming up due for yearly rabies.

Story
Being a German Shorthair & Hound mix, you can imagine that ol' Oscar is a lover of the outdoors! This sweet boy was born in May of 2015 and is still looking for a place to call his own. Oscar enjoys being around people, especially ladies, but he understands what it's like to need some space: your time, my time, and our time! Oscar experiences anxiety and because of this, boundaries are important to him. When his anxiety is low, Oscar is a goofy, playful boy who likes to chase balls, sticks, and rabbits. He loves, loves, loves long walks with plenty of time to let his hound nose get some exercise, and lots of exercise helps work off that extra energy that can make this handsome boy nervous! Because of his love for exploration, Oscar will need a fenced-in yard to keep him close to home.  Oscar is not kennel trained, but is totally fine being left to lounge around the house while you're away.  He's also housetrained, so no worries about that business! Oscar is a very smart dog who knows "sit", "stay", "lay down", "leave it" and he also knows that when he follows these fun words, he gets really yummy treats! Oscar's ideal home will be with an active person/couple who love to explore nature, just like he does, and who will love him like family while respecting his need for boundaries and independence! The suggested adoption donation for Oscar is $315.  We are a 501c3 organization which means that your donation may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE.  Your donation goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our animals in rescue, as well as providing supportive services to animals in homes. Information about the adoption process:  All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION.  Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the dog’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match.  If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the pet.  The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person.
