Meet Aussie, a 7-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer with a zest for life! At 7 years old, Aussie may be considered a bit older, but he’s proof that age is just a number. He’s full of energy and enthusiasm and thrives on being close to his people. Whether he’s tagging along as you move around the house or relaxing nearby, Aussie loves to be part of the action. Aussie is also proving that old dogs can learn new tricks! He’s eager and ready for training, and we’ve been working on basics like “sit” and taking treats gently. His intelligence and enthusiasm make him a quick learner, so training will be a breeze. Aussie does well in his kennel. He rides well in the car and enjoys going for walks, though he’s still working on leash manners to prevent pulling. Currently, Aussie lives with another dog, though they mostly ignore each other. He’d do well in a home with or without another canine companion. Aussie adores people, and his friendly nature suggests he’d be great with kids. However, until he learns to contain his excitement, his wiggly enthusiasm might unintentionally knock over smaller children. Aussie is house-trained but currently wears a belly band indoors to prevent marking. His desire to mark has been virtually eliminated after his recent neuter. All in all, Aussie is a wonderful, affectionate pup who’s ready to learn and adapt to your home. With a little training and patience, he’ll make a fantastic companion! Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Dental, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. She plays really well with our 2 resident dogs and she really enjoys going on walks and spending as much time as possible outside. She loves exploring and running around the backyard but also loves a good snuggle on the couch. We're working on basic obedience and she picks up on things very fast. Regular exercise and short training sessions work really well. She's eager to please and very treat motivated. She does fantastic in her kennel. To create a routine she does sleep in there at night and a few days per week while we are at work. She would make a great addition to any household! Angus is a 10-month old male purebred German Shorthaired Pointer. He was also recently neutered. We have had GSPs before and adore them, but Angus does not get along with our older other male dog and so we have decided to try finding him a new home. He is great with our little kids and is an excellent running companion. He has been through obedience and e-collar training and picked it all up really well. Angus is also kennel trained. He loves to cuddle and is happy to lay on your lap. He is generally pretty mellow for a GSP, but loves to go run. He does well off-leash at the big dog park and otherwise gets along with other dogs. We really want him to find a loving new family because he is such a good sweet boy.

Buddy is a very active guy and would love to join your family! He seems to have potentially had some hunting training prior so if you have been contemplating getting a hunting dog then no need to think on it anymore as you have found your hunter! He does best with female dogs, is ok with some males but he likes to be the big man in the friendship. We would love for you to stop in and meet him! Adoption fee is $200 plus tax. All animals up for adoption at the Hawk Creek Animal Shelter are spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested negative (if age appropriate), up to date on vaccinations (a booster may be needed), given flea and tick preventative, given heartworm preventative, dewormed, and treated for anything necessary: such as dental cleanings, ear infections, etc. Please visit our website for prices and more information about our hours.
