Story
Being a German Shorthair & Hound mix, you can imagine that ol' Oscar is a lover of the outdoors! This sweet boy was born in May of 2015 and is still looking for a place to call his own. Oscar enjoys being around people, especially ladies, but he understands what it's like to need some space: your time, my time, and our time! Oscar experiences anxiety and because of this, boundaries are important to him. When his anxiety is low, Oscar is a goofy, playful boy who likes to chase balls, sticks, and rabbits. He loves, loves, loves long walks with plenty of time to let his hound nose get some exercise, and lots of exercise helps work off that extra energy that can make this handsome boy nervous! Because of his love for exploration, Oscar will need a fenced-in yard to keep him close to home. Oscar is not kennel trained, but is totally fine being left to lounge around the house while you're away; he's also housetrained so no worries about that business! Oscar is a very smart dog who knows "sit", "stay", "lay down", "leave it" and he also knows that when he follows these fun words he gets really yummy treats! Oscar's ideal home will be with an active person/couple who love to explore nature, just like he does, and who will love him like family while respecting his need for boundaries and independence! The suggested adoption donation for Oscar is $315.  We are a 501c3 organization which means that your donation may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE.  Your donation goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our animals in rescue, as well as providing supportive services to animals in homes. Information about the adoption process:  All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION.  Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the dog’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match.  If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the pet.  The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note:  We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter.  We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each dog, based on the dog’s needs.  If you and the dog are not a good match, we will help you select another dog, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. Story
Meet our amazing Tank and find love! Tank is a gentle senior Dalmatian/Lab mix according to family members of his previous owner.  We believe it! He can fetch and return a ball like it’s nobody’s business and he is able to howl in true Dalmatian style when the mood strikes.   Tank came to rescue following the unexpected passing of his owner. He had been her loyal companion for the past 5 years since she adopted him from a humane society shelter. He is 10 years old, around 80 pounds and LOVES people. He likes to be with his people as much as he can, and he also can be trusted loose in the house or in his crate (included with his adoption, as he loves it and it came with him to rescue). Tank likes to have his own space to go to know he’s safe and can relax, so find space for the crate.   Tank needs love, a comfy bed in his crate and tennis balls that squeak…a lot of those. He is an older gentleman so has some lumps and a little soreness in his joints, so supplements for his cartilage will be a big help to his longevity. Minimal steps, a yard or a dog park nearby, and daily walks will help Tank ease into his new life with his adopters. Oh! He likes cats, dogs who share balls, and kids, too!    If you have a soft landing space and want a quiet peaceful friend to love in his golden years, please fill in an application for this best boy at www.HavenAnimalRescueNebraska.org   ADOPTION DONATION: $225 *All pets must be indoor companion animals. All are up to date with vaccinations, altered, HW tested, on preventatives and microchipped.     PLEASE SUBMIT AN APPLICATION AT: https://havenanimalrescuenebraska.org/adoption-application We do not have a facility. All of our animals are in volunteer foster homes. Once an application is pre-approved (contingent upon a home check) we will contact applicants that are a good match and set up a time for a meet. At that time we are happy to answer all of your questions. No inquiries prior to that please. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, examined by a vet, up-to-date on vaccinations, on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchipped. We adopt our animals as strictly inside companion pets. We will do a veterinarian reference check and a home safety check. We are located in Omaha, NE and we do not ship our animals. We are all volunteers so please be patient with us. Our requested adoption fees help go towards medical expenses, food, transportation, toys, and other supplies for our animals. We are a state licensed, 501c3 nonprofit rescue and the adoption donation may be tax deductible for you.  Thank you for choosing adoption!! March 19, 2025, 10:01 pm
