Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Timmy (aka Tyke) Timmy was rescued from a high-kill shelter along with Soldier (who is also available for adoption on our website). He was in such a sad state at the shelter, we could not leave him behind. He immediately stole our hearts and was so social; it was an easy yes, and we are so glad we have him safe with us. Our best assessment (no guarantee) is that Timmy is about 3 months old (born ~5/1/2024). Best guess, no guarantee is that Timmy is a Pointer/Pittie mix (?) -- really, we do not know.   We expect (though cannot guarantee) that he will be a medium sized adult. In terms of his personality, what a sweet and smart boy Timmy is. He is playful, social and loves people in general.  He can share food and toys with his foster sibling too - although stealing of snacks and treats does happen!!  He responds and comes when called, and it's absolutely adorable -  he is no track star but his chubby little jog toward you makes you smile. Timmy will make a great companion animal, as he is a velcro dog. He seeks out attention and love fromhis humans and just wants to be the center of someone's world. Basics of crate and potty training are coming along too. The puppies are started on core vaccines, dewormed/de-flead, and microchipped! __________________________________________________________________________ **If you are interested, YOU NEED TO APPLY.  Also, a follow-up email to info@safeatlast.net is strongly recommended. To pursue adoption, please register on www.safeatlast.net.  (Click Register on the left-hand side of our homepage.)  When you receive your password on your email account, please log back on to our website to complete the SAFE AT LAST on-line adoption application.  (Click Forms/Application on the left-hand side of our homepage and select the Adoption Application.) Once we have your completed application, if we feel you are a good match, we will contact you by email. (So, please check your SPAM.)  Our process is straightforward but involves a phone interview, reference checks and a home assessment.  An adoption fee of $450, and a refundable $35 spay/neuter deposit (required by NYS law), apply. YOU CANNOT MEET OUR RESCUE ANIMALS UNTIL YOU HAVE BEEN APPROVED TO ADOPT.  WE CANNOT CONSIDER YOU UNTIL YOU HAVE SUBMITTED THE FULLY FILLED OUT SAFE AT LAST ON-LINE ADOPTION APPLICATION.  Delay in submitting your application will put you behind other potentially suitable applicants.  Ultimately, approved adopters will be required to complete an adoption in Schoharie/Albany County. Thank you for your interest.(Sorry we will not respond to generic 'check the box,' 'Is he available,' 'Can you give me more information' inquiries.)
