Story
Macy is a one-year-old purebred German shorthaired pointer dog that I acquired from a breeder. She has a lot of energy and loves hunting and being outside, making her an active and lively companion. Given her high energy levels, Macy would thrive in a home with a backyard where she can play and stay active. She’s also crate-trained and house-trained, making her well-suited for a home environment.

Story
Missy is a curious, happy, almost 6-month old puppy with a playful heart. Her energy level during the day is low and gets playtime and fetch in the evening. She will sleep in with you (as long as her bladder allows, which is usually around 9 or 10am). She loves other pets to play with and will give you some real zoomies if given the space. No health issues, no trouble with people or pets (cats unsure). Her new home should have a decent sized backyard for her to explore (she loves to sniff and taste new things, as puppies do but also common for her breed) and to run around (which she will occasionally just do own her own to get energy out). A good home would be one with space for her to roam in a single room but still be isolated until ready for more. She is trained with various commands and when barking to alert can be hushed fairly quickly. She is very smart and learns very quickly and is very food motivated. And is the cutest thing ever.

Story
Kara is a 2-year-old. 28lb German Shorthaired Pointer, Dachshund mix. Kara has done an amazing job raising her puppies, but now she's looking for a home of her own. Kara gets along with anyone and everyone and would do great in any home. She has never met a stranger and loves to play. Kara can be a little bit of an escape artist, so she would do best with a home with a tall fence that she can't get out of. She would thrive with a family who can keep Kara busy and play with her, and even in a home with other dogs who love to play, too, but she does prefer same size or smaller dogs. She isn't a fan of being crated, but not to worry, she's completely housebroken and can be left out of a crate with no problem. Not only is Kara housebroken but she's leash trained, fully vetted, and ready to complete your home. If you think you can give Kara the life she deserves, please apply online at www.crisisdogsnc.org. Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. To ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/. Please note that questions via email or social media channels may not receive a response without a completed application. As part of our commitment to responsible adoption practices, we require excellent veterinarian references and conduct virtual home visits. Additionally, your prior or current dog must be on year-round heartworm prevention. We provide transportation by both land and air whenever feasible. All assessments regarding breed and age are conducted by licensed veterinarians. We look forward to assisting you in finding your perfect canine companion!August 19, 2024, 11:27 am

Story
Sammy is looking for an active forever family or a family with a big fenced in yard as he has lots of energy and absolutely loves to run.  He is dog friendly but I would recommend dogs equal or bigger to his size as he does play rambunctiously with them and also a dog that can handle rough housing and play growls. He is incredibly fast and also can jump high so if you are looking for a dog for agility, he is incredibly smart and treat motivated. He loves zoomies.  He learned his routine so quick. Is crate trained, Has great recall. He loves to snuggle and will cuddle up with you on the couch in a heartbeat.  Walks on the leash but still working with him not to pull. He also does jump on you so continued training will be needed and because of this we recommend no small children.. Sammy has the most beautiful shiny black coat, beautiful smile, and is a great size at about 44lbs. He eats a lot because he is so energetic. He would love to become your running, walking, hiking partner and I know will be the most loyal best friend you could ever ask for. He is cute, lovable, sweet, funny and ready for his forever family to love back. And ready to go with you on car rides. His DNA came back and was a surprise. He is actually a German Short-haired Pointer/Jindo mix with a little Pointer.  Sammy is neutered, up to date on vaccines including Canine Flu, HW negative and on HW Preventative. Approx. 1 1/2 years old. Sammy needs a home with no small farm animals, chickens, ducks, etc as well as no cats.    Adoption process will be through www.littlebucketsfarmsanctuary.com in Brodnax, VA. Please reach out to littlebucketsfarmsanctuary@gmail.com with any questions. Additional pics and videos can be found on Instagram under @littlebucketsfarmsanctuary bio - by hitting the circle Adopt Sammy.   Sammy was growing up at a local shelter . The shelter could not believe he had not gotten adopted. They had even taken him to several events because he was so good. Little Buckets pulled him into our care so he didn't have to grow up in the shelter one more day. Now we want him to find his new family.August 14, 2024, 4:23 pm

Story
Meet Palmer, a delightful 2-year-old shelter dog whose joy is infectious. As you approach him, his tail wags with excitement, and his eyes light up with happiness. Palmer greets you with gentle enthusiasm, refraining from jumping and instead expressing his affection in a calm manner. On a leash, he walks with grace, enjoying the outdoor surroundings as he explores and sniffs with curiosity. Palmer's mellow and calm temperament shines through, making him an ideal companion. He has mastered the art of sitting and delights in catching treats, showcasing his intelligence and eagerness to please. Recently tested with other dogs, Palmer would likely do better with a female. His go-to move was humping, so an older dog may not be tolerant of his playstyle. Palmer is not just a dog; he's a loving and well-behaved friend ready to bring joy and companionship into your life.He is up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick, and heartworm prevention, is microchipped, and will be neutered prior to going home. If you have cats or dogs in the home, we recommend slow introductions over time. If you have children in your home, we recommend supervision between animals and children at all times. ". Story
Hello! My name is Hillary aka CoCo! I am a super sweet Chesapeake Bay Retriever. I am about 3 years old and weigh approximately 62 pounds. I have a lot of energy! I love going for walks but sometimes I get distracted by squirrels, birds and humans. Sometimes I pull and need to be corrected. I LOVE going to the park. I run and run and run. I have made many friends-mainly my foster sister, Bosco. We play and play and play until my foster mom has had enough. I have a boyfriend in the neighborhood and his name is Moses. He too is a golden/Chesapeake combo. We see each other and give kisses. I also have 2 other boyfriends that Moses does not know about-Yogie, who is a Rhodesian ridgeback, and Leo, who is a German shepherd. We are always having play dates!! Oh… I forgot Knuckles-the neighbors bulldog. Knuckles was kind of in my face. But I dog-checked him and we are good. So bossy that one! My foster mom has said I have made a TON of advances. When I was placed with her, I would not eat dog food or eat snacks. I now LOVE dog food; and eat tons of snacks. I LOVE bananas, sweet potato, green beans-and of course dried beef liver and dried chicken. I was super skinny-but I have gained weight!! I was also not house trained. I now go outside and do my business. I feel bad because I was so confused before. But my foster mom has been great and I love her with all my heart!!! At some point, I think I was water deprived, so I am a water gorger. Mostly I just eat ice now. I love it and its my go-to. But sometimes I will gorge at the park, and then forget and make a mess in my house. I have to remember that eating ice means going potty outside. And drinking water also means going outside. One time, my foster mom took me to the drive through at Bojangles. I hated it!! I barked at the lady taking my order and then I would not eat a Bo-round. My foster mom was shoving that thing in my face the whole 2 blocks home. First, she shouldn’t be going to fast food, and second, not everyone likes fast food. She tried that same crap when we went through the drive through to get “the Lord’s chicken.” I’m just not a fan of waffle fries. I am not kennel trained. But there is really no need for me to be. I have only chewed on approved dog toys and when I nap-I am either on the couch or on the dog bed. My foster mom got a camera to keep a watch on us when she is away. She was bummed when she found out that me and Bosco mainly just sleep on the couch. I haven’t done anything bad, not compared to Bosco. She’s the one that needs training. One thing I taught Bosco was to look out the window. I love the window and love watching what is happening outside. And Bosco taught me to fetch!!! I’m kind of still new at it, but love a good ball launch!! When we went to the park the other day, I played with the neighbor kids. I just love them!! I am always down for snuggles. And I snuggle hard. I love having my ears petted and generally having quiet time. I just want to be loved!!!
