Story
We're looking for a FOREVER or a FOSTER for this lovely man! Any German short-haired Pointer lovers out there? This guy IS A LOVER and found himself at the shelter alone and confused Read on: Dougie arrived at the shelter on February 2nd as a stray but sadly became panicked and was calling for the finder when he walked out of the shelter. Staff were emotional when they saw Dougie cry and plead at being left behind. At the shelter he’s been extremely clean in his kennel and is most likely housetrained. He’s great with other dogs but did not do well on his cat assessment He walks fairly well on the leash when he’s comfortable but when he’s uncertain he will try and “head home” and pulls hard and is strong. He has extremely soft fur and welcomes cuddles and pets. He’s quiet in the kennel, loves food and the staff have seen zero aggression. He has no medical concerns He becomes anxious when restrained for vet procedures not sure why but no aggression seen; (lack of experience or scary experience perhaps) He’s currently on trazodone and gabapentin to help ease the stress of the shelter and it’s helping. He was extremely stressed last week before starting the meds. Dougie is approximately 60 pounds and is only 18 months old To foster Dougie here is the link: https://www.speakingofdogs.com/volunteer/fostering/ To adopt him, this is the link: https://www.speakingofdogs.com/.../dog-adoption.../ February 26, 2025, 3:13 pm

Story
Magnolia - Available for adoption ~1 year old female In foster care since: September 23, 2024 Fostered in: London, Ontario Adoption fee: 700 Meet Magnolia! This sweet sleddie girl came into care in September 2024 and, after months of love from her foster family, she’s ready for her forever home. She’s a mix of shyness, smarts, and energy. She may be cautious at first, but she’s quickly learning that fun is worth overcoming her fears. Her foster mom jokes that Magnolia moves like a deer, with perky ears and graceful, speedy runs. When she’s happy, she trots around in the cutest way, especially with her big brown doe eyes that could melt anyone’s heart. Unfortunately, Magnolia didn’t get to enjoy puppyhood before, but she’s making up for it now! She’s full of energy, curiosity, and loves to zoom around. A big yard and playmates would be her dream come true. She’s quickly becoming a great house pet and would thrive in a home with another dog to help guide her, though she’s open to a people-only home that offers patience and love. Magnolia is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. She’s good with dogs, cats, and kids (though she tends to avoid busy toddlers). Ready to give Magnolia the loving home she deserves?
