Phoebe is a soon to be one year old Doodle (Golden/Collie/Standard Poodle) and she is a great family dog. Phoebe gets along well with other dogs and I believe would do well with cats too. Phoebe is friendly, loves everybody, is housetrained and crate trained. She walks well on leash, loves water and traveling. Meet Boone! Boone is a stunningly gorgeous Lab/Golden/Hound blend, that is 11 months old and weighs 65 pounds. Sadly, Boone was left abandoned at a Vet Clinic after being kept in a crate for well over 12 hours up to 24 hours a day most of his life. Boone is a really good boy, loving with no meanness just can’t be kept locked up in crates or kennels for any length of time. He does have energy but it’s nothing we haven’t seen with labs before, just requires plenty of exercise with consistency. He is housebroken and crate trained but prefers not to be in one. He loves running around in a backyard and will require a fenced-in yard where he can sunbathe and enjoy playtime. Boone is still young, so he needs someone willing to work with him and give him the training he requires. We do the best we can to get them started. Boone is fine with other dogs, but would prefer to be the only dog getting all the undivided attention attention. Boone needs an active family, one with a stay-at-home or work-from-home individual, a teenager to be best friends with who enjoys having their dog with them most days to pal around with. Boone deserves a family that understands dogs, has had them and understands the need to nurture, love, and train to be the best they can be. Boone is extremely loving and very affectionate. Meet Bilbo “Bo” and Chewy! They LOVE each other, lost their home and need to stay together since they are all they have! Both are pure breeds. Bilbo is a Golden Retriever and Chewy is a Chocolate Labrador. Both are three years old males born in January of 2021 and adopted as puppies. These two are housebroken, crate trained and have both had some basic obedience; sit, stay, come. Both LOVE to play and enjoy walking. They are used to children, although older children will be best as they can be quite rambunctious when playing and are both very big. They are both good tempered dogs and would only knock over a young child. Bilbo can be dog selective when meeting new dogs, so it is best to go to a home with no other dogs or cats or a very submissive dog. Chewy is fine around other dogs. Bilbo is the alpha dog among the two. Chewy we were told is fine around a cat, but Bilbo is not at all, so definitely no cats. Both require a large fenced in yard and preferably a household that has time to spend and include these two awesome dogs in family activities. They need to be taught a few manners indoors since both have primarily been outside mostly. They will counter surf if not watched but immediately respond when said “NO”. Both boys are adjusting to living indoors again versus strictly being outside and super playful. Both boys are currently crated when left alone or overnight until they are adjusted. Chewy will crate himself when just taking a rest during the day and lay there with the door open. We prefer they go to a home with a stay-at-home mom or work from home individual where they don’t have to be crated as much once they get acclimated. We prefer dogs to have full run of their home once acclimated. Billy, upon receiving them had an ear infection which could have been from swimming before coming to us, but we changed their diet to ensure it’s not food related. Chewy is a typical Labrador who mistakes his water bowl as a kiddie pool so he will sling and splash in it. Lol He is good with being redirected and enjoys watching you clean up the water mess. Both dogs LOVE swimming! Chewy LOVES water period! Both were used to swimming in an inground pool at their previous home. They will welcome any visitors with a big smile and wagging tails. Billy will bark when someone approaches, but Chewy has yet to bark. Chewy will wait if you tell him to stay when at the door. Billy needs more encouragement to not run out the door. Billy wants all the attention and snuggles and enjoys lots of belly rubs. They both need a secure large, fenced yard to play in. They both love and require durable toys. Chewy loves to play fetch. They both ride very well in the car. Bilbo jumps right in while Chewy needs a little encouragement to get into the vehicle, but once inside and settled, they travel well. They both had baths and were very well behaved. Bilbo will grooming from time to time as his fur can get quite matted since he is Golden. All in all, they are very sweet dogs who need a family that can be patient with them. They are both still young so they both have energy but want to be people pleasers too. Hi, I'm Cody! The folks here at the Ark all know that I'm a sweet talkin' and very handsome special kinda fella who has impeccable manners ! I have a bit of a silly side, and love a good ear rub too! I'm friendly and active guy, and just love to play with toys with my volunteer friends and I especially like it when they take me for walks. But here's the best part - I also have a soft mellow relaxed side. I'm the best of both worlds! As a matter of fact, on a scale of 1 to 10, I'm an 11!! Being a mature guy, I know what I like, and I like people! On the other hand, cats I'm just not too fond of, but we can work that out. As much as I love the people here at the Ark, I've been here a very long time just hoping to have a family of my own. I'm a bit allergic to a few kinds of food, but that's not a big deal, I just need a certain kind of food (like Farmers Dog)and I'm good to go! Way back when I arrived at the Ark, we played the 'guess what breed I am' game, and the most guesses were that I'm a Retriever/Lab mix, but I know that's just a guess - I know what I am, I'm a Purebred Mix-Breed!!
