Story
HONEY is a F1B Goldendoodle that was rescued from a puppy mill. She is a sactuary dog that is available under our Foster to Adopt program. She is 5 years old. She had an injured leg which required ACL surgery which we had done in 2019. She was terrified of people when she first came.. She was rescued in 2019 when she was one year old. Honey has come around. Her fear is getting better with people. Once she bonds with someone she is the sweetest most loveable dog to them. Like others in our sanctuary she will never be a social butterfly. Honey gets groomed every 2 months and rides in the car well, She will walk on a leash to the groomers building. This has become a routine. She needs routines. If she is familar with a place she will do well. She will probably never walk on a leash for daily walks, she will be too afraid. She just needs her back yard and her home. If you ever go on vacation she will need a dog sitter in your home. She will never do well taking a trip or going to boarding. Honey has become a bit protective of her people. If you have company she will stay away, however there have been incidents when a stranger turns their back she will try to nip at their butt or ankles then run away when they turn around. We feel she protecting us. We would not call this aggression it has never led to more than a nip and then she runs the other way. She does not do it with all people. The key would be for her to get to know your guests with treats. She would do best in a home with no children because of the possible nipping when friends come over. She is good with dogs, however she will be the alpha dog. She does not play with other dogs either, she just wants her people. She is a calm dog. She has no anxiety really. You can leave her to free roam. She never uses a crate. She can be trusted. She will not chew or get into anything.  She needs a secure fenced in yard and someone home during the day. You must be located within 50 miles of Grovertown, Indiana.  She is vaccinated, spayed , microchipped. Her adoption fee is $200 For more information on our Foster to Adopt Program go to this link https://indianasaveadog.com/foster-to-adopt ##2057193##

Story
Lucille Ball GD came to us from a breeder where she was relinquished by no fault of her own. This is a nice girl who is good with other dogs & with people. She is very sweet but would benefit from some basic obedience and confidence building. She needs continued socialization as she is timid. Her approx. birth date is 03/17/20 & she currently weighs 69# full grown. Her photos were taken after spay and she is still sleepy. Maybe she's an Irishdoodle? She has been vet. checked, spayed,  micro chipped, is up to date on routine shots & wormings includung rabies, and has been treated with flea & heart worm preventative per our protocol. She is also heart worm negative and tick born illness negative & had a dental cleaning. Lucy did have a small mammary tumor, but we had that removed and sent out for testing. Her adoption donation is $350 and needs to be cash, certified check, money order or a debit/credit card. There is a 3% processing fee when using a debit/credit card. Please note that any additional funding collected for this pet goes back into our medical acct. to provide for other dogs in need. Story
Crazy For Daisy came to us after she lost her home by no fault of her own. This is a nice girl who is good with other dogs & with people. She is very sweet but would benefit from some basic obedience and confidence building. She needs continued socialization & exercise. Her  birth date is 12/15/20 & she currently weighs approx. 60#. She is house trained. She is half lab. & half golden on purpose apparently. She has been vet. checked, spayed,  micro chipped, is up to date on routine shots & wormings includung rabies, and has been treated with flea & heart worm preventative per our protocol. She is heart worm & tick born illness negative. This girl has been with us for quite some time as we watch her bilateral stifle arthritis due to crutiate ligament tears. Our vet. has monitored this and we have determined that surgery will  not give her any additional stability and a surgery might actually cause a limp. Basically, this girl gets around great and you would have no idea she had an old injury. She is on the move! Joint supplement would be a great idea for her. Her adoption donation is $250 and needs to be cash, certified check, money order or a debit/credit card. There is a 3% processing fee when using a debit/credit card. Please note that any additional funding collected for this pet goes back into our medical acct. to provide for other dogs in need. Story
Toby is a 10-month-old mixed breed pup with a heartwarming story of resilience. Found running scared with his littermate last spring, Toby’s journey to safety has been a long and challenging one. While his littermate was quickly adopted by a loving family, Toby spent a few more weeks on his own before he was successfully trapped and brought to safety. Toby does need another dog in the home. Initially shut down in the county shelter, Toby was connected with a foster home to help him begin feeling safe and loved. Although the journey to confidence is ongoing, Toby has shown remarkable progress. He is much braver now and is steadily gaining confidence in living with humans. When Toby feels safe, his true personality shines through. He is happy, bouncy, and playful with a moderate energy level. Toby loves the company of other playful dogs of similar size and has a special fondness for golden retrievers—unsurprisingly, as his Embark DNA test revealed he is almost 30% golden retriever himself! Toby is looking for a patient and understanding forever home that will continue to help him build his confidence and feel secure. If you’re ready to provide a loving environment and enjoy the companionship of a playful, gentle pup, Toby might be the perfect addition to your family.  Come meet Toby and let him show you just how special he is!  We do want another dog in the home for him to play with. He is most comfortable around other dogs who can show him the way.   *We do not accept electric/underground fences. All dogs & cats in the home must be spayed/neutered & up to date on core vaccines & preventatives in order for your application to be approved.* ##1986339##
