NOT YET TAKING APPLICATIONS – NOT YET AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION NEW INTAKE 8/16/2024:  Jello - female - approx 1.5 years old - 49.8 pounds - Golden Retriever/ Poodle mix Reason for intake:  We were contacted by a lady who met a lady in dire need of help with a lot of dogs she had accumulated over the years.  We made contact with the woman and went to her property to try to see what we could do.  The poor elderly woman was sincerely trying to take care of all the dogs (23 dogs) but just could no longer handle them all.  She was willing to let 11 go and we are working to help her by networking what we could not take to other groups.  We took in Sizzle and Jello for now and working on bringing in a third.  They are heading to the vet the week of August 19th for everything they need.  As for Jello, we sent her to our groomer, Wendy, first thing and she already looks like a million bucks!   NOT TAKING APPLICATIONS:  Many dogs, particularly breeder, hoarder or senior dogs, can have multiple medical issues that need addressed.  Additionally, sometimes we take in young puppies requiring multiple vaccinations and/or quarantining.   In this particular case, we are not yet taking applications either due to age or possible illness or some other reason.  We will post when s(he) is ready for adoption.  In the interest of fairness, EARLY application submissions will NOT be considered.  Please note…  we cannot respond to messages/emails, etc., on dogs that are NOT yet available for adoption.  Please wait until the dog is available for adoption.  We will post him or her on Facebook in our Adoptable Dog Album pinned to the top of our page which you can follow at this link:  https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.416768288349589&type=3 OR you can keep checking our website at www.roadtorescuela.org.  We appreciate your cooperation and understanding. “The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.”  ~ Gandhi Be responsible ~  Always spay/neuter, keep your dogs on heartworm prevention, vaccinate against disease... and if you bring a pet into your life, commit to that pet for life.  Blessings. Coco is a polite and pretty girl, but this 9-month-old retriever-terrier-mix was brought to the shelter by her owners for exhibiting a very normal puppy behavior....chewing. She's almost out of the teething phase and she'd like to give people another chance to love her! She can be a little a shy at first, but it doesn't take her long to warm up and then she's all in for snuggles and belly scratches. She gets along very well with her kennel mates so we think she's dog friendly.As with all puppies, Coco will need some patience and guidance as she learns the rules of her new home, but she's going to make a wonderful family dog!The adoption fee is $50 and before Coco leaves the shelter, she will be spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated.

Greyson is a friendly, happy-go-lucky, 8-year-old Black Lab-mix, weighing in at almost 60 lbs. This sweet boy came in as a stray but, sadly, no one ever came looking for him. Greyson is dog-friendly and loves meeting new people and is hoping to find a family that will keep him active with daytime adventures and give him a snuggly, soft bed to enjoy his evening on! Meet Demi, a 6-month-old adorable mixed-breed. She may have some retriever in her, a little shepherd, a dash of hound, but most importantly a whole lot of cuteness! This little girl is playful and full-of-life and dreaming of having her very own toys and yard to play in. Demi enjoys other playing with dogs too so we think she's fit in with a family that wants to add a dog but she'd be fine having all the love and attention to herself too! As with all puppies, Demi will need some patience as she learns the rules of her new home, but she seems smart and ready to learn. The adoption fee is $50 and before Demi leaves the shelter, she will be spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated.
