Story
My name is Milo Magoo and I am a 3 year old Golden Doodle with a birthday that is coming in the next few days… to turn 3 yrs. old.  I weigh 80 pounds and I am looking for an attentive and dog training family that will really shape and polish me to be the spectacular dog that I have the potential to be.  My current family really has no time to work with me to shape me in to a dog with great manners and emotional control.   I am bored in this home and I need physical and mental stimulation and fun challenges to do.  I am very happy, sweet, and very active with running and playing.  I am a male that is ALL BOY and if I had my wish I would say to adopt me if you have a girl dog in the family.   I would love to have a girlfriend for life!  When I am bored my favorite, yet dangerous, thing to do is eat socks.  So please watch that if you take me home.  It is totally out of boredom.   Critter Cavalry Rescue is tryng to change all this by placing me in the right home that they will review closely.   I am a silver tawny coloring and people just ohhhhh and ahhhhh over the color of my coat of  hair.  If you would like to adopt me please email right away at ccrnewengland@gmail.com Mention in the email where you live!!!   That helps so much too.  PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.August 19, 2024, 8:06 am

Story
Hello world!   I am so excited to tell you my story of being saved from a shelter that was under siege from parvo.  I survived and I was broken out of the shelter by Critter Cavalry Rescue after spending 4 weeks there and hoping to live through it all. My name is Bridgette and I am about 5 months old and weigh 28 pounds.  They say I have all sorts of breeds probably in my blood line.  They say I looks like a Golden Retriever mix or an Aussie mix or a little Chow or just the best of what God could create.  My foster mom just loves my confidence and my small size and stature but my BIG personality.  How big will I be when I grow up? Who knows except that my foster mom says I have enough cute and cuddles for any size.  I think I will be 40-45 pounds and the perfect size to fit in just about anywhere.  Since I have gotten out of the shelter, I am crate-trained, but still working on the housebreaking because I have NOT been out of the shelter for long. It means that I don’t mind being in my crate and usually keep it clean and dry. I might holler when you first put me in my crate but my foster mom says, don’t be fooled. I’ll settle down with a blanket and toy after a little while. I just have to get used to being without my brothers and sisters and get used to my new family.  You know things change all the time for us rescued dogs.   We go from so many situations while the shelters and the rescues are trying their best to get it all just right for us.  I sleep in my crate at night. I love mealtime! I also love to chase toys. If you get me settled on a blanket next to you, I love a good snuggle time. I’m ready. Come and get me! I am spayed and healthy and loveable and snuggable and I really need a place to belong.  Can you love pretty little me?  Bridgette the golden charm that will make your life so much better.  Email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com and ask for an application for me.  Tell them where you live please…city and state. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comAugust 19, 2024, 8:06 am

Story
Meet Paul Newman! This little heartthrob is as sweet as he is adorable. Paul Newman is ready for the good life; a loving home with a family to call his own. Can you believe someone dumped this little fellow, along with his two brothers way out in the country, thrown out like trash. Luckily, the brothers found their way to the home of a Good Samaritan who reached out to us asking if we rescue the pus...of course we said YES. Paul Newman is ready for his FOREVER HOME. Is that you? If you are interested, please contact us by email at cox_ann@bellsouth.net

Story
Basil Rose is a very sweet, bashful girl. It might take men particularly a little bit longer to for her to warm up too. Having treats on hand will definitely help the first visit. Once she gets to know you, you are forever in her circle. She enjoys going out on adventures, as well as walks with her people. She is learning not be so reactive to other dogs while on leash. With a few words of encouragement, she minds her own business and continues her walk. She is willing to meet other dogs but may be very selective. As for cats, we don't know if she has ever lived with them but tested her here at the shelter and didn't seem to mind them. So, we are recommending dog savvy cats. Due to her nervousness basil rose is no kids under 18. If you would love to meet this charming girl, please come to KVHS during opening hours. Please don't forget to bring in all household members including dogs. Due to space, Basil Rose is available from out back please ask for her.

Story
Posted July 2024 Wait until you hear this breed mix? Rocky is believed to be a golden retriever, cattle dog, Great Pyrenees mix. He was rescued from a shelter in Texas in September of 2022 and just turned 2 in May. He is neutered, micro chipped and up to date with all his shots. He completed one on one training with a trainer and knows all basic commands. Rocky is a sweet, goofy, loving and affectionate pup! He is friendly with other dogs, does not have much experience with cats, loves kids but might be best living with an adult only family since he prefers a quieter low traffic household and an attentive owner. Rocky's one challenging trait is that he has some territorial/protective instincts at home that make suburban dwelling with younger children too challenging. In his neighborhood people are coming and going from the home frequently, and they are concerned Rocky will make a mistake due to being overstimulated. He will thrive in a new home that is quieter with more available and more experienced owners. Because of changing family circumstances, Rocky is in need of a new home. His current family wants him to have a better chance at a happy and relaxed life. One of our volunteers spent some time with Rocky and says he is an absolute doll. We could discuss a foster situation for him prior to adoption commitment as well. If you have interest in meeting Rocky or any of our cuties, please fill out the adoption application. Please note: we do not have a physical facility where the dogs are housed; they are cared for in our wonderful foster network throughout Maine. It is our expectation that, once approved, a potential family will meet the dog(s) in the foster setting where they are feeling safe and loved. Thank you for considering rescue!
