Story
Meet Tavitha, a sweet six-month-old pup from Puerto Rico! When she first arrived, she was quite scared of her new environment and the hustle and bustle of the shelter. However, with the love and care from our dedicated staff and the companionship of more confident dogs, Tavitha has made an incredible transformation. She now enjoys her new life and is ready to find her forever home.Tavitha will need some time to adjust to her new surroundings, but with patience and understanding, she will make a wonderful companion. She would thrive with a canine friend in the home, but she would also do well as an only pup if her human is patient and experienced. If you're looking for a loving and loyal companion, Tavitha might just be the perfect match for you!Fill out an application at https://capeannanimalaid.org/adopt.html

Story
Meet Evolet, a gentle and adorable 6-month-old puppy from Puerto Rico who has been learning to trust humans since the day she arrived here at the shelter. We have had the pleasure of getting to watch her grow, learn how to trust and slowly build her confidence here at the shelter but we know she will be so much happier in a home with a family of her own! When Evolet first got to our shelter at the end of June she was very shut down- she would shake with fear, try to hide and find any way to avoid human contact. Luckily we noticed her love for other dogs and were able to ease some of that anxiety for her with playgroups and lots of positive reinforcement. Evolet has made such a huge improvement over the last month and a half in a lot of ways but she is definitely still working on learning to trust unfamiliar people, however she has shown interest in particular caretakers whom she has bonded with. Unfamiliar people, objects or situations can be particularly stressful for Evolet, and she may take a considerable amount of time to adjust. Evolet has had the most success when humans respect her space and boundaries. She is not comfortable with petting and may show signs of discomfort or fear when touched. Evolet will need a family who respects her boundaries and will not force unnecessary physical contact. She will need her future family to work at her pace along with being patient and bring a quiet approach. She likes other dogs and finds comfort and happiness in their presence, which is why she is looking to be adopted by a family that has an outgoing dog at home so that she can continue to learn from them. A dog that won't be getting in her face a lot and will respect her boundaries would be the best fit for this girl.Evolet's ideal home would be free from the hustle and bustle of young children, as their energy and unpredictability can make her anxious. She is seeking a quiet and calm home environment where she can gradually build trust and confidence. She requires an individual or family who will allow her the time and space she needs to feel secure and safe. If you are committed to providing a patient and understanding environment, where Evolet can flourish alongside another dog, she will reward you with unconditional love and loyalty. Together, you can embark on a journey of trust-building and transformation, creating a bond that will last a lifetime. To fill out an application go to https://capeannanimalaid.org/adopt.html

Story
Are you ready for some big puppy fun??? Cooper is a happy, clever young guy that is looking for adopters that will be excited to help him achieve best boy ever status! This means positive rewards training, fine tuning house training, exercise and tons of fun and laughs in between. Because Cooper loves everyone he meets and gets very excited, he might forget all about the polite way to greet people and be a bit on the jumpy side. Teens that are comfortable with bouncy young dogs and will participate in his training, will be considered. He can potentially join a home with a resident dog that is comfortable with his rough and tumble play style and who can be a good role model. No cats in the home at this time, please. Cooper is ready to become a wonderful companion for many years, he just needs to find his forever family. If you think he might be the one for you, please drop by the shelter during open hours to talk to staff. Tuesday- Sunday 12-3p

Adoptable in: MA, RI, NH, CT, and VTGood with dogs: Yes, with proper introsGood with cats: NoGood with kids: Yes, older childrenCrate trained: YesHouse trained: YesBuster is an incredibly loyal, affectionate boy who loves to cuddle. His favorite things are treats, playing tug of war/fetch, and people who pet him. Buster absolutely loves other dogs and is extremely social once introduced. He is very friendly with people and would enjoy coming along for family gatherings. If you can’t tell by his album, Buster loves getting his photo taken and is very photogenic! He enjoys hikes, going for a swim, nose/scentwork, and would likely do well in agility classes as he is very athletic. He has already picked up commands including sit, down, and touch, and is very food-motivated. Buster is a great WFH buddy and will always keep you laughing with his goofy personality. Buster is hoping to find a single-family home with an active, confident adopter who has prior breed experience or previously owned dogs. He would do well as a solo pup with regular opportunities to socialize or with a playful dog sibling. As a typical golden retriever mix, he takes great pride in doing what he was born to do – watch over his home and his humans. Buster is sweet, curious, and would love to be your handsome shadow as you move around the house. Could you be the one Buster has been waiting for? Email us at Adoptions@lasthopek9.org. We’d love to chat with you! Please Note: All dogs currently available for adoption are posted on our website. Story
My name is Milo Magoo and I am a 3 year old Golden Doodle with a birthday that is coming in the next few days… to turn 3 yrs. old.  I weigh 80 pounds and I am looking for an attentive and dog training family that will really shape and polish me to be the spectacular dog that I have the potential to be.  My current family really has no time to work with me to shape me in to a dog with great manners and emotional control.   I am bored in this home and I need physical and mental stimulation and fun challenges to do.  I am very happy, sweet, and very active with running and playing.  I am a male that is ALL BOY and if I had my wish I would say to adopt me if you have a girl dog in the family.   I would love to have a girlfriend for life!  When I am bored my favorite, yet dangerous, thing to do is eat socks.  So please watch that if you take me home.  It is totally out of boredom.   Critter Cavalry Rescue is tryng to change all this by placing me in the right home that they will review closely.   I am a silver tawny coloring and people just ohhhhh and ahhhhh over the color of my coat of  hair.  If you would like to adopt me please email right away at ccrnewengland@gmail.com Mention in the email where you live!!!   That helps so much too.  PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.August 19, 2024, 2:03 pm

Story
Hello world!   I am so excited to tell you my story of being saved from a shelter that was under siege from parvo.  I survived and I was broken out of the shelter by Critter Cavalry Rescue after spending 4 weeks there and hoping to live through it all. My name is Bridgette and I am about 5 months old and weigh 28 pounds.  They say I have all sorts of breeds probably in my blood line.  They say I looks like a Golden Retriever mix or an Aussie mix or a little Chow or just the best of what God could create.  My foster mom just loves my confidence and my small size and stature but my BIG personality.  How big will I be when I grow up? Who knows except that my foster mom says I have enough cute and cuddles for any size.  I think I will be 40-45 pounds and the perfect size to fit in just about anywhere.  Since I have gotten out of the shelter, I am crate-trained, but still working on the housebreaking because I have NOT been out of the shelter for long. It means that I don’t mind being in my crate and usually keep it clean and dry. I might holler when you first put me in my crate but my foster mom says, don’t be fooled. I’ll settle down with a blanket and toy after a little while. I just have to get used to being without my brothers and sisters and get used to my new family.  You know things change all the time for us rescued dogs.   We go from so many situations while the shelters and the rescues are trying their best to get it all just right for us.  I sleep in my crate at night. I love mealtime! I also love to chase toys. If you get me settled on a blanket next to you, I love a good snuggle time. I’m ready. Come and get me! I am spayed and healthy and loveable and snuggable and I really need a place to belong.  Can you love pretty little me?  Bridgette the golden charm that will make your life so much better.  Email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com and ask for an application for me.  Tell them where you live please…city and state. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comAugust 19, 2024, 2:03 pm
