Maggie is a beautiful girl that recently lost her owner to cancer. She is young and loves the outdoors. She is struggling in boarding and could you a family to foster or adopt her. Maggie loves car rides and has been fine with other dogs and human. We do not know if she is good with cats. Maggie is house trained but was never crated. You can apply to meet her at ricopetrecovery.org. Adoption fee is $250.

Lucy is a beautiful, intelligent, and sweet golden doodle who came to our rescue having been a mommy used in a puppy mill. She has been with her foster family for a little over a month and has made amazing strides.  She has moved from timid and shy to playful, energetic, and loving in such a short time.  She takes a little time to approach new people and shows her trust by coming and putting her head against you allowing pets and cuddles and will walk away when she has had enough. Lucy has been around adults and teens/older children but not exposed to small children in her foster home, although the foster family has no reason to believe she will not be fine with small children as well.  She has a very gentle demeanor and is very calm-natured.  She loves to walk on a leash, and we are very gently working on some crate training due to her past experiences being in a puppy mill.  She has done very well with other dogs and even a cat in her foster home although she may need some time to acclimate in a new situation as that was the experience in her foster home. Lucy loves to be outside to play but secure fencing is a must when she is outdoors. She is very intelligent and can figure out certain types of gates and doors. It’s a doodle thing.  She is only motivated to do so when her people are on the other side of the fence because she loves to be with her people.  She is housebroken, with only occasional accidents in the house. Lucy, like most of the doodle breed, loves to “counter surf” so food should be kept off the counters within her reach.  She responds very well to a firm no and will stop any behavior she is engaged in if she is told no. He is currently in our DASH Prison Training Program where he is easily grasping basic commands and learning to be his best for you. He knows sit, wait & leave it and is working on stay, heel and down. He will need to continued practice as he settles in to the rules and surroundings in his new home. Milo likes belly rubs, has good manners, gets along well with other dogs, shares his toys, lets you know when he needs to go potty and does well in his crate. He is full of affection and loves to play in water and go for walks as he loves being outside. If this seems to fit you, well then, you must meet Milo! This 6 year old sweet retriever mix knows basic commands and is ready for his new home! He has not been tested with children or cats so a proper introduction is in order. She had a litter of puppies in June and has been working hard, taking wonderful care of them, but now it’s her turn to be cared for and loved in a home of her own! She walks well on a leash when out in a walk. She keeps her crate clean overnight, and always goes potty when taken outside, but may need some work when in a new home to learn how to indicate to her new family she needs to go outside.
