Story
Loki was found stray. How could anyone let this boy get away? He would love a fenced yard for playtime and lots of walks/love. He gets along great with the dog in his foster but might annoy a laid back dog who is older. Loves tummy rubs. Best to feed him alone. No small kids or cats please. 3.5yrs old, neutered, vaccinated, microchipped. 54lb Dog experience would be beneficial. Loki is smart.

Story
Years ago, Lady was found stray in some woods. The finder took her home, never intending to keep her, but did keep her for years. Last week, they reached out wanting to surrender her to us and another dog in the home. Lady is confused. She mainly lived outside during the day with little attention, but went in at night. She loved the kids in the home but is shy/wary of strangers initially. Lady needs a home with no cats and understanding to give her time to settle in and learn how good life really can be! 6 yrs, 65 lb Spay, vaccines, microchip provided

Story
Meet Leroy- The Swanky Senior name is Leroy, and I'm an independent, fun-loving, and funny older gentleman. I'm here to tell you that age is just a number! I'm living proof that you can teach an old dog new tricks. I love my squeaky balls, the louder the better! I'm not too big, so I would be great in an apartment. I'm also not destructive. I would need slow introductions with kitties and would prefer to be the only dog in the household. I'm working on my social skills because no one took the time to show me they cared, but now I'm ready to love. Can you give a sweet senior like me a home? Story
Hi there, I'm Lexi. I'm a little shy, but once you get to know me, I'm the sweetest friend you could ever have. I love to play, whether it's fetched or a simple game of tug-of-war, and I'll always be by your side. I can be a little cuddly too, snuggling up next to you whenever you need some comfort. But don't worry, I'm not clingy, I know when to give you your space. I'm loyal, always there for you, always ready to cheer you up with my playful antics. I'm just looking for a home where I can share all this love and loyalty. Won't you consider giving me a chance? I promise to be the best friend you've ever had.

Story
Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   Date into Rescue: 1/21/25 Reason for being in rescue: Breeder release Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Merry Goldie is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Merry Goldie is not hypoallergenic and does shed.  Weight: 67 lbs Height: 24 in Spayed/Neutered: No. Merry Goldie will be spayed on 2/18/25. We are accepting applications to adopt now. Adoption Fee: $599 Fence needed? Yes, Merry Goldie requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller. What kind of home would be best for me? Merry will  thrive in a home where she can receive plenty of one-on-one attention and gentle training. Ideally, her new owner will be someone who is home most or all of the day, as Merry is still adjusting to life outside the breeder's care. With her own loving family, she’ll become the happy, confident dog she was always meant to be. Merry could fit into a variety of home situations, whether she’s adopted by a single person, a couple, or a family. However, because of her shyness and sensitivity to new experiences, a family with older children (12+) who can be respectful of her quiet nature would be the best fit. Merry has never known life without canine companions. She requires a home with another large, confident dog for behavioral modeling and socialization.  Merry is patiently waiting for the special person who will give her the love, care, and commitment she deserves. If you have a heart full of patience and a home that can offer her the time and space to grow, Merry is ready to meet you! What is my personality like?  Meet Merry, a beautiful Golden Retriever that is ready to blossom into your lifelong companion. After retiring from a breeder, Merry is ready to experience life as a cherished pet. She’s still discovering the world and learning that people can be kind, but she’ll thrive in the right environment with the right person. Merry is new to many aspects of life outside of her previous experiences, so she’s a little shy and reserved when meeting new people. It will take some time for her to build trust, but she has so much potential to become a loving companion once she feels safe and secure. Because of her past, Merry needs an adopter who has the time, patience, and understanding to help her adjust to her new life. Merry is already walking on a leash but will need some help adjusting to outdoor walks, as many things can startle her. She’s also still working on learning basic commands, but this will come with time and patience.  Merry is a reserved and cautious girl who’s still adjusting to the world around her.  How do I act when I first meet new people?  When meeting new people, Merry is shy and reserved. While she may not actively seek out affection just yet, she does welcome gentle pets and kindness—she’s just waiting for someone to show her the way. Other tips and tidbits: Merry’s birthday is 5/20/2017. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.   To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR. February 12, 2025, 6:57 pm
