Story
Lucy is a sweet and loving Great Dane. She is generally pretty mellow but does love some running around outside time. She needs a family who will love her and give her all the attention and pets she deserves. She loves belly rubs and being with her humans. She is good with other dogs but would probably not do well with cats. She has no idea that she is a big dog and thinks she is a lap dog. We have had her since she was a puppy and love her very much, but we are about to move my elderly mother in with us.

Story
NAME:MaxxSTATS:Male, Dane Corso/ Mastiff Mix, 1.5 years, 115 lbs.TEMPERAMENT:Shy at first and warms up.Needs seasoned owner to work with issues (see below).Moderately ActiveInitially was told he was fearful of men, which seems to be he just needs slow introductions to new people where he can approach them at his own pace. Warms up quickly to men and women as long as it is done slowly and at his pace. Initially weary of strangers. SKILLSPotty trained.Crate trained.Older children in a savvy home only (12+)Has not been exposed to cats.Has not been exposed to other dogs and ideally looking to place as an only dog at this time.MORE ABOUT ME:Likes belly rubs.Needs patient proactive owner willing to work on behavior (see details below).Signing up for basic training will be a requirement to adopt. EXPERIENCED/large breed savvy owners required.ONE LAST THING:Maxx is a supersized puppy with lots of attention and love to give to the right family. He is goofy and loves to play, especially with an appropriately sized toy like his JUMBO Jolly-Ball. He loves treats and while he is a little on the shy side at first with new people, he warms up quickly as long as it is done at his pace. After the initial warm up phase, his true personality comes out. There is a playful side to him as well as a lazy lay at your feet side, although sometimes he may mistakenly lay on your feet in his attempt to cuddle :).Maxx initially had negative reactions when it came to strangers and pretty much everything new to him (including swaying palm trees). With reassurance, positive reinforcement in the form of treats, and looking to his handler for a confidence boost, his triggers have lost power. He will need continued socialization, desensitization, and training. With the right forever home, Maxx will continue to improve. He picks up on things very quickly and is very treat and toy motivated. He does need someone who will be patient with him, but also serve as someone who he can turn to for confidence and stability when he is unsure or frightened of something new for reassurance. Story
Seamus (shay-mus) is a one-of-a-kind blockhead who is ready to give his heart to the right person or family. He is in a foster home with lots of dogs and does well with everyone. He’s shown that he is super smart, friendly, playful, emotionally in-tune with his human friends, and a supreme cuddle bug. Seamus is crate-trained, knows basic commands, and walks nicely on-leash. He can be excitable in the way he wants to give all his love at once, but is learning to control his impulses as he continues to decompress in his new structured environment. Seamus is 6 years old, 70ish pounds and healthy. California Pit bull Rescue is an official 501(c)(3) and requires an adoption application and $200 donation fee for all adoptions.October 24, 2024, 1:31 pm

Story
Meet Ruby Meet Ruby, the Stunning Great Dane Mix! Ruby is a 1.5-year-old Great Dane mix with a heart as big as her paws! This gorgeous girl came to us from a local shelter where she struggled with the stress of kennel life and sadly ran out of time. Thankfully, a loving foster stepped up, and Ruby is now thriving in her temporary home. Weighing 68 pounds, Ruby could benefit from gaining a bit more weight, but she’s full of energy and excitement for life. She loves other dogs, both big and small, and adores playtime. However, she does need supervision since she isn’t fully aware of her size or strength yet. Ruby is also currently fostered with a cat, and she’s learning how to live peacefully with her feline housemate. Ruby has a sweet and loving nature—she gets along with everyone she meets and would love an active family who can keep up with her adventurous spirit. Her ideal home would have: • A yard for her to run and play. • Another dog to be her playmate. • A family with time and energy for training and daily exercise. Ruby is making excellent progress with house and crate training, and her food motivation makes her eager to learn. She enjoys walks, exploring the outdoors, and being part of an active lifestyle. If you’re looking for a fun, affectionate, and beautiful companion, Ruby is the perfect match! Help us find this wonderful girl the forever family she deserves.
