Story
Duce is the son of our older dog. He has full papers with breeding rights but please do not adopt just to breed! We have had him for 2 years now. He requires a lot of love and my kids are now in middle and high school with crazy schedules. Our older dog lays around and doesn’t require much attention. Duce know all basic commands (doggy trained) loves walks and laying at your feet. We would love to keep him but the timing is off and not fair to him. Fully house trained.

Story
Dog Name: War Admiral Breed: Great Dane mix Sex: Male Age: 10 weeks DOB 10/18/24 Weight: 18lbs Medical Needs: Will need to be neutered prior to 4/18/25. That appointment will be scheduled by Grass Roots Rescue, and must be kept as a condition of adoption (location options will be Georgetown, Dover or Wilmington). Foster to adopt family must live within 1 hour of Delaware to ensure he can be brought back for his appointment, and will also need to be willing to have his stomach tacked with their vet (at their expense) when he’s of age if it is recommended based on his size. Housebroken: Work in progress! He does great when you keep him on a regular puppy schedule and watch him. Crate trained: Yes. He sleeps through the night in his crate but he will cry when you initially put him in. Good in the car: Yes. He hasn't been on too many rides but the ones he has, he has slept through. Good on a leash: Yes, he's been doing great on short potty walks! Energy level: Puppy- play, play, snuggle, hard naps with snores! Need a fenced in yard: No. He would be fine with leashed walks. Dog Friendly: Yes, definitely. If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive homes? No. He would do great with other dogs or by himself. Cat Friendly? Unknown. Kid Friendly: Yes, definitely! If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with? Any age with proper supervision would be fine. He is a typical teething puppy but otherwise he is living with kids ages 2-16 and plays and snuggles with them all. Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them? War Admiral is just a happy little pup. He literally hops around and you can't help but smile watching him. He loves to love and be loved. War will be playing hard with his foster pup and then you pick him up and he's zonked out snuggling you. He snores when he's napping and his yawns are like little yells . He is interested in everything around him and at such a fun age. He will make any person/family so happy as he just loves life, people, dogs, and a good bone . Fosters Location: Lewes, DE Application can be found here: https://www.grrde.org/adoption-application (if you already have an approved application on file email GrassRootsDE@gmail.com and ask the app team to pull your app) ##2236069##

Story
Dog Name: Barbaro Breed: Dane mix Sex: Male Age: 10 weeks DOB 10/18/24 Weight: 15 lbs Medical Needs: Will need to be neutered once he's old enough. This must be completed by 4/18/25. Housebroken: doing well but still a work in progress due to age. The more attentive the adopter, the better he will be! Crate trained: eats meals in crate, sleep in crate over night, and stays in crate while foster is out. Some cries at night when first put in crate but settles down quickly. Good in the car: Yes. Not many car rides yet though. Good on a leash: Hasn't had one yet. Energy level: Puppy! Need a fenced in yard: No, leashed walks will be fine Dog Friendly: Yes If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive homes? No Cat Friendly? Yes. He does try to play with them though since he is their size currently. Kid Friendly: Yes If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with? Any age with proper supervision Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them? Barbaro is mostly a quiet and gentle giant. He enjoys getting in the mix to rough house with the other dogs in foster home when he is not the center of the pile. He enjoys tug play with other dogs and very mild rough housing. A high energy dog that won’t sumo wrestle him around is his preferred friend although he may be less timid as he grows bigger. Barbaro enjoys shaking and tossing around any toy that squeaks. His first passion is human comfort and cuddles. Barbaro does however, dislike the cold immensely so he may demand sweaters and jackets. He has been an absolute dream in his foster home and he is going to be the same for whoever adopts him. Fosters Location: Landenberg, PA Application can be found here: https://www.grrde.org/adoption-application (if you already have an approved application on file email GrassRootsDE@gmail.com and ask the app team to pull your app) ##2236065##
