Story
Rooster!   DOB: 6/2023    Weight: will be around 60lbs    Rooster is THE SWEETEST thing you'll ever meet! He's a Great Dane/Pit mix with a squishy little face. He drools when eats and thinks he's the perfect lap dog. He has a tail that looks like it might've been broken before, so it tends to go up and down instead of side to side like most. He's house trained and lives fine in foster with dogs and young kids. He's very treat motivated! Knows how to sit and does fantastic meeting new people! His adoption fee is $175. That helps us to cover worming, vaccines, spay/neuter, heart worm test, and microchip. We offer a 2-3 week trial. If for some reason it does not work out, you'll be refunded $100 of your fee. If interested in adopting him, please fill out an application on our NEW website. https://www.newliferescues.org . If you have issues, send us a message through our Facebook.***YOU MUST FILL OUT AN APPLICATION BEFORE WE DO ANY MEET AND GREETS. QUESTIONS? CONTACT pcpoundpuppies1@gmail.com Our standard adoption fee is $175 ($250 for puppies 6 months and under, or small dogs 20lbs or below) which covers a portion of the dog's vetting costs. Story
Hey there, I’m Pepper! I’m a 2.5-year-old Great Dane mix, and boy, am I a big fella! Some folks might say I look a bit rowdy and messy in my kennel, but that's just because I'm excited and full of energy.Once you get me outside, it's a whole different story. As soon as I stretch my legs and take in all the wonderful smells, I mellow out and become visibly happier. There's nothing like the great outdoors to make me feel alive and content. You know what I really, really love? Butt scratches! Seriously, they are the best. I can't get enough of them. Give me a good scratch, and I'll show you my biggest, goofiest smile.I'm great with people, too. I might be big, but I'm a gentle giant at heart. I have so much love to give and a huge smile that can light up any room. If you're looking for a big, happy, loveable buddy who’s ready to join you on all sorts of adventures, then I’m your guy!Let's go outside, explore the world together, and share lots of butt scratches and big smiles. I can't wait to find my forever home and show you just how much love and joy I can bring into your life. Will you be my new best friend?Fill out an adoption application online at: https://www.hshcky.org/

Clay County Animal Rescue & Shelter is located at 375 Water Elm Lane, Flora, IL. Our phone number is 618-665-3005.  We are renovating our shelter so hours are by appointment only.  The typical adoption fee for dogs is $150.  It includes vaccination, deworming , spay/neuter, heartworm testing on dogs of age and microchipping, which is now mandatory by state law.  Some dogs we discount to as little as $50 due to sponsorship.  Some dogs we ask a higher adoption fee, which helps us recoup expenses on heartworm treatment on other dogs. All cats are spayed/neutered/vaccinated/flea treated/dewormed and microchipped prior to adoption.  Cat adoption fees range from $60-$100.  We spay/neuter/microchip/vaccinate and deworm all kittens and cats, prior to adoption.  Our shyer/less adoptable cats are classed as "barn cats" and are free with a completed/approved barn cat application, which can be found on our website.
