Story
Clancy is a big ball of love and affection. He's a friendly and gentle boy who loves to show his affectionate side through plenty of kisses. He's also loyal, which makes him a great companion. He's an all-around good boy who enjoys being active, whether it's on walks or playing in the park, as well as being a couch potato, who loves a good snuggle on the couch. He's a smart cookie who knows some tricks, and he's also a bit of a comedian who loves to make his humans laugh. Clancy is an adventurous and curious dog, but can also be a bit timid at times. He's a brave boy who is always ready to face his fears. If you're looking for a fun-loving and sweet dog, Clancy is the one for you! August 18, 2024, 3:26 pm

Story
Have you see Nyx?  Nyx is a looker, such a beautiful Great Dane. Nyx came to us as a stray, they do believe she was dumped. Nyx is a gentle giant that loves to go for walks. We are guessing that Nyx is 2-3 yeasts old, house trainer, seems good with other dogs, we don’t have cats to test with.  She did great at our events.   Nyx is up to date with vaccines, spayed, microchipped, dewormed and on heartworm preventative. August 18, 2024, 3:26 pm

Story
Meet Genny! This 2-year-old Great Dane mix has been through so much in her short life. Found abandoned in a forest preserve with her 5 puppies, Genny was left to fend for herself and her family. It took rescuers days to trap her as she was terrified of people and had clearly been mistreated. Genny's ears were recently cropped before being dumped and the poor girl had a bad limp. After being trapped, she immediately went to the ER for her leg. She was covered in hundreds of ticks and her leg was beyond repair. Genny ultimately had her leg amputated, and she's still getting used to getting around on 3 legs. She spent some time in foster where she got used to having a leash on her and meeting safe people who won't hurt her anymore. Genny will need an extremely patient and quiet home with no children and a fully fenced, secure yard. Genny has done great with other dogs; she just needs the right people to take a chance on her!

Story
**Bright is currently in a foster home. He is available for adoption! To meet Bright, please email applications@chicagocaninerescue.org!**If you're feeling a little down or lonely, Bright is here to brighten up your world! This 11-year-old Great Dane/pittie mix, tipping the scales at 84 pounds, is not just a dog-he's a beam of love and light in furry form!Despite his size, Bright has a heart of gold and a penchant for snuggles that would put even the coziest lap dog to shame. He's a big softie who adores nothing more than cuddling up with his favorite humans and basking in their affection. Bright might look like a tough guy, but he's really a love bug who likes to play! Now, let's talk about Bright's quirks. He's a bit of a scaredy-cat, like an elephant who sees a mouse, especially when faced with new environments or loud noises. But once he feels comfortable, he's a whole new dog! Bright absolutely loves going for walks in the woods, exploring all the sniffs, and then coming home to a cozy snooze.Currently living in a foster home, Bright has won the heart of his foster mama, who describes him as an absolute doll. However, due to his tough early life, Bright has some issues sharing his space with other dogs, so he'll do best as the only furry friend in the home. We're on the lookout for a low-key suburban or rural home where Bright can stretch his legs without the hustle and bustle of city living. Private yard? It's his retirement dream! He's a mellow, easygoing guy who's simply looking for a mellow, easygoing home where he can finally find the love and security he deserves. If you're ready to welcome Bright into your heart and home, get in touch today!** Submit your foster or adoption application at ChicagoCanineRescue.org! **

Story
Shedinja came to us from a kill shelter in Arkansas where she ended up by no fault of her own. This girl is sweet, but reserved. She is good with other dogs and kids and tested fine with cats. Her approx. birth date is 05/05/15 and she weighs 94# full grown. This girl was adopted out for 6 years and recently returned when her adopted became too ill to care for her. She has been vet. checked, spayed,  micro chipped, is up to date on routine shots & wormings including rabies, and has been treated with flea & heart worm preventative per our protocol. She was also heart worm negative. Her adoption donation is $100 and needs to be cash, certified check, money order or a debit/credit card. There is a 3% processing fee when using a debit/credit card. Please note that any additional funding collected for this pet goes back into our medical acct. to provide for other dogs in need. We do not ship or transport. Please email for an application if you would like to provide this nice kid with her forever home. ##1068591##

Story
LOCAL TN ADOPTION ONLY. The good.....He is kennel trained. Goes in very easily with treats. Will run right in if a treat is thrown in there. Will bark for a few minutes but settles. If he’s in a crate, in a room alone and he hears a lot of commotion, he will bark. If you’ve left and the house is quiet, he’s quiet. He’s great in the kennel if someone is in the same room with him though. He likes being with his people. He happily snoozes in an open kennel during the day if you’re working from home and the kennel is near your work area.Scooby is a goof! There’s not much he takes too seriously. Besides treats. Treats are serious business! He will do just about anything for a treat. Even stuff he really doesn’t want to do. But treats are life. He’s overall an easy dog that is sweet, happy, cuddly and isn’t overly energetic. He loves playing and is a bulldozer but he relaxes and naps a lot too. He doesn’t require mass amounts of exercise. He is more than happy to lounge around in bed and watch tv with his humans. The bad...He snores. It’s not quiet...He hates small dogs, if your neighbor has one he will make it his life"s mission to eradicate it. He is generally good on a leash until aforementioned small dog walks up, then he will happily chill with you while you recover from your rotator cuff repair. LOCAL ADOPTION ONLY IN TN.The Adoption Fee Includes Age-Appropriate Vaccinations (DA2PPV, Bordetella, Rabies), Deworming, Spay/Neuter, Microchip, Flea, Tick and Heartworm Treatment and Prevention, and Sheltering. Adult Dogs are Heartworm Tested and Treated as Needed.
