Story
Meet Duke! He is an 8 month old Great Dane! Great Dane experience is required as this is not a breed meant for every home. Duke is so very sweet and your typical puppy. He is rambunctious, sweet, would love to find a home of his home. He is a custom to living outside so we have been working with him on his house breaking. With more consistent structure we believe he will 100% potty train easily. He and Amanda have been working on his manners so he will need a home to continue his training. Don’t miss your chance on this boy! If interested in adopting Duke please fill out our application at mamasgonarescue.com

Story
Arlo is a 1-year-old Great Dane. Behind the scenes we have been working very hard with Arlo. He is going through basic training and has exceeded our expectations. Arlo comes with free training with our friends at Absolute Control dog training. Arlo is hoping for a family that will continue his training. He is looking for a home without another dog for now. Arlo is a big boy who is still growing. We are looking for a family with breed experience. He will need daily exercise and a fenced yard. Arlo is recommended for an adult home because he can get over excited and lose sight of his manners. If Arlo sounds like the right fit for your family, please submit your application for adoption and we will schedule a meet and greet.

Story
Are you looking for a true Southern belle Dane? If so, then Mya is your belle of the ball! Mya is a beautiful five-year-old fawn Dane (mixed in with a little we-don’t-know what) who doesn’t simply walk, she sashays her hips from side-to-side as she sidles up to you for a lean-in rub. Like a true belle, Mya is house trained and will let you know when she needs to go out by going to the back door. She loves a cuddle and, when she is completely relaxed, will roll on her back and put all four of her pretty paws in the air for a full-on belly rub. The couch and her dog bed are her places to get extra love. Mya was overweight when she came to her foster family- but she is slowly slimming down. Mya does best with a sensitive skin and stomach dog food (easy to buy online) and has absolutely no food aggression. Mya LOVES her treats (very food motivated) and has been known to counter surf (which her foster family is working on with her) when her foster family is out of the house. She does well at home alone but, true to Dane style, she prefers to be around her people. Like a Southern belle, Mya LOVES to be in the garden and stares intently at a tree for the longest time- in hopes of chasing a squirrel that dares to climb down or waiting for we don’t know what! Mya is a great companion in the car and loves to go for rides. She is on medication (Pruin) for mild leakage- but the vet feels that as she loses weight it will be a non-issue. Mya is very protective over her family members and we are working with her on this. Mya will sashay her way into your heart and home in no time! Please include your home area code and a phone number where a volunteer can reach you when contacting us about adoption.

Story
There is nothing quite about Mouse here she does not know her size and loves to come in for a big hug. She knows basic commands and walks really nice on leash. She came is as a stray and seems to be a very adventurous so we would suggest a busy family to keep her on the move. Mouse is so sweet and is on the hunt for a new home. We are unsure how she will do with others so as always, a meet and greet is required.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Fill out an Adoption Application HEADLINER: Grug – updated bio HISTORY: Born May 17, 2024 PERSONALITY: Grug is a cuddler. He’ll chew on your nose and earlobe before curling up and sleeping on your lap. This boy will be your sidekick through thick and thin, even if you run out of treats. FAVORITE ACTIVITIES: eating, sleeping, playing, pestering every living and non-living thing in the house, eating every stick he can find and making you laugh MEDICAL ISSUES: none known WHAT WOULD BE THE BEST KIND OF HOME: A loving home that will meet his needs for playtime and training. Application Fees, Adoption Donations and Rescue Policy: Please know that 100% of our fees and donations pay for the costs of rescuing dogs. These include but are not limited to pull fees from shelters, veterinary examinations, vaccinations, medications and care, microchips, neuter/spay surgeries, heartworm treatments, behavior evaluations, and foster care, as needed. **Puppy Adoption Policy: To ensure proper house training and socialization, puppies will only be adopted to homes where an adult will not be away more than an hour per day, per month of age of the puppy, up to 6 months. Certain large-breed dogs should not be sterilized prior to 12 - 18 months of age. If you adopt an intact puppy, you will sign an adoption contract agreeing to have the dog sterilized at your expense at the time your veterinarian recommends. Proof of sterilization must be provided to Mastiffs To Mutts Rescue as soon as the procedure is completed. If the puppy is not sterilized as required, Mastiffs To Mutts Rescue reserves the right to claim legal ownership of the dog.  Important notes before applying. Adopters must have their primary residence in one of the following states: Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, and parts of North Carolina. A veterinarian has determined the sterilization procedure would harm the intact dog.  We believe in Force Free Training Methods and do not approve of methods or devices using pain or force to control the dog, or to deter undesirable behavior.  Homes with highly varnished steps must have carpeting, securely fixed stair treads, or a non-skid surface. **We encourage you to remediate potential safety issues while your application is under review, prior to the home visit. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Fill out an Adoption Application HEADLINER: Abby -updated bio HISTORY: Abby came to MTM with her three pups after giving birth under a stranger’s porch. Since coming to MTM she has put on weight and shown what a wonderful dog she is. PERSONALITY: Abby is so very sweet; she’s a pro at the Great Dane lean and also will pull your hand over if you stop petting her. She’s happy to lay on the couch with her head on your lap. She’s calm, easygoing and enjoys meeting people. FAVORITE ACTIVITIES: She likes being with people and enjoys naps on the couch. She will get frisky and ask one of the other dogs to play. MEDICAL ISSUES: Once her stitches from being spayed have healed she has no known medical issues. WHAT WOULD BE THE BEST KIND OF HOME: Abby would do best in a quiet home or a home that will give her the time needed to settle in. She does well with other dogs, cats and livestock, but would prefer to get more attention. Fireworks and thunder worries her, but she’s ok as long as she feels safe. ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:  Abby is sweet, calm and generally well behaved. During the day she has free roam of the house and interacts well with the pack of five dogs that live in her foster home. (Even the crazy Dane puppy that’s the size of a horse and has zero concept of personal space.) At night Abby has the choice of sleeping on a dog bed or on the couch. So far she has always ended up on the couch. Word of warning though, she’s a counter surfer. Possibly that will ease as she settles into her forever home, but no guarantees so be prepared. Abby has sometimes been protective of her food. Although it can sound bad it’s a case of all bark and no bite. She is not being aggressive, but she might trigger a less stable dog. Time, patience and understanding will be required from all members of the household. Abby would be good for a first time Dane owner or anyone wanting a young but mature, well behaved adult dog. She’s all the fun of a young, active dog without the house training and the Velociraptor puppy stage.
