It is with a heavy heart that we have decided to rehome our one-year-old male Great Dane, Duke. We are an elderly couple who have always dreamed of having a Great Dane, but we have found that his energy and strength are more than we anticipated. Duke is a kind-hearted boy with a gentle temperament, but he is also high-energy, a bit of a droller, and very strong. He needs a home with someone who has the time, energy, and strength to provide the daily exercise and training he requires. Duke is unneutered, and while we love him dearly, we believe that a new family with the ability to meet his needs would be the best for him. This decision has not been made lightly, and it has weighed heavily on our hearts. However, we want to do what’s best for Duke, and that means finding a family who can give him the active and engaged life he deserves. If you think you could be the right fit for Duke, please reach out to us. We are committed to finding the perfect home for him.

Story
Blizzard is about 2 years old, and this big shy sweetie pie weighs 75 pounds. If beautiful snow-white Blizzard were one of the seven dwarfs, she would be Bashful, for sure! A little leery of new people at first, this girl blossoms into the biggest marshmallow cream puff you'll ever meet, after a few minutes of getting to know her. She sits, shakes, and lays down for treats, and she enjoys going for walks with our staff. Blizzard has not met any children at the shelter, but we think she could do well with kids old enough to understand approaching her calmly and respectfully. Blizzard must meet any resident dog(s) in a potential new home, to make sure they get along. * Blizzard has tested positive for Lyme disease, and is currently being treated with antibiotics
