Story
Meet Sky, who comes to us from a local shelter. She was owner surrendered to the shelter with her brother, Tiny (already adopted), because he said he could no longer take care of them. She and Tiny both lived their life in a 48" crate. Sky is a 3-year-old, 101 lb., Great Dane. She is housebroken, crate trained, and good with other dogs and cats, but due to being starved she does show food aggression with other dogs and would either need to be taught not to resource guard or be adopted to a family as an only dog. She is up to date on her vaccines and is spayed. Sky is very smart, sweet and affectionate, loves to nuzzle right into you, is great on a leash and in the car, and is very gentle and quiet. She is currently living in boarding and is also in need of a foster home. If you are interested in meeting Sky, please reach out to us for an adoption or foster application.

Story
Cole is a lovable Great Dane mix who is still searching for his forever home! It’s been 4??9?? days since this gentle giant arrived at the shelter, and he has truly blossomed. Cole was a bit nervous, unsure, and underweight when he first joined us. But with all the love and care he’s received, he’s transformed into an active, happy pup putting on some healthy weight!Cole has a big heart and a profound love for food! We’re working on teaching him to take treats gently, letting him know he’ll never have to worry about where his next meal is coming from again. This strong, cuddly boy has a warm personality that will melt your heart. Thanks to the fantastic students at HK9, he’s already learned excellent skills like sitting, lying down, and coming when called. He loves to please and adores being around people! Our wonderful staff has introduced Cole to some playgroups, and he gets along well with other dogs. However, he prefers a calmer playmate, as he can feel a bit nervous when things get too rowdy. Cole is on a journey to find a home where he can thrive with structure and ongoing training, empowering him to unleash his full potential and become his best version. If you have a heart that can accommodate a larger-than-life companion and are eager to invest in making this fantastic dog the best he can be, don’t wait—come meet Cole today! He’s bursting with enthusiasm to find his forever family. And remember, we always recommend a meet and greet with any dogs and kids in the household before committing. ?Cole`s adoption FEE is WAIVED and includes 2 FREE in-person training sessions with Highland K9!

Copy and paste to view YouTube video: https://youtube.com/shorts/FChjQYI0kgo?si=57Cdji0Y7D1DVbsZ Lucy is a Great Dane/ Labrador retriever mix.  Her vet estimated year of birth is 2014, and she weighs about 85 pounds. She's low key and relaxed.  She walks beautifully on leash.  She really just wants a low key home where she can be loved and love in return.  She would love to take leisurely walks with you and sit at your feet with her head in your lap and watch TV together. Lucy has severe separation anxiety and really need a home where her owners are there most of the time or can take her wherever they go.  If you are a retired couple and would like a wonderful companion who will love you outrageously, Lucy is your girl.  ~~ Adoption donation $150 . All vetting is up to date. Microchipped and spayed. Also on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Story
Diesel is a sweet older Great Dane mix dog.  His vet estimated birth date is 2017.  He weighs 77 pounds.  He'd love taking walks and then coming home to nap at your feet.  He can be a little iffy with other dogs, so he'd probably do best as an only dog, or you would need to do a very slow introduction if you have other dogs.  Diesel walks well on a leash. ~Adoption donation $200 . All vetting is up to date. Microchipped and neutered. Also on flea/tick and heartworm preventative.
