Story
Douglas is a sweet 2 yr old Great Dane mix looking for a very special home. His owner had to move cross country due to an emergency, and he is in the care of a friend who loves him but cannot keep him due to his size and his needs. It’s important to note that he has previously exhibited reactive behaviors towards other dogs or people, so he needs a home that is willing to work with him. Currently he is improving! He is goofy, sweet, intelligent, cuddly and energetic. He smart & can be prone to boredom behaviors, so he would do well with lots of activity. He can be a great hiking companion but is also content to nap beside you; he needs intellectual stimulation like puzzles and tasks more than he needs to get tired out with walks. His perfect owner would be an experienced owner of large breed & reactive dogs, who has a lot of time & patience to dedicate to him, ideally home a lot Maybe you have land where he can run. He should be the only dog, at least for now. No kids please.

Story
Kindrow is a big sweetie, with a soft and gorgeous coat and an unmatchable love for humanity. Kindrow would make an amazing family dog, or a great companion dog for anyone looking to fall in love. Kindrow is a people’s dog to his core, we already know that his forever family will be so adored. Meet Kindrow here: https://youtu.be/xUFsvpqGg34?feature=shared Kindrow is tall with a big blocky head, we think he may be a Great Dane, Mastiff, Boxer mix of some sort. He is a rescue, so these are just our best guesses. Don’t let his size fool you, Kindrow is a big softie and a total scardey-cat! Watch his video to see him get spooked by a pillow. This sweet boy is a little skinny at the moment, but on a weight gain journey! He currently weighs in at just 59 pounds. We estimate his age to be around 1 and a half years old. Kindrow is a really well behaved boy! He’s a dream on leash, he knows some basic commands, and he does great in the car! He likes to lay across the backseat, and settles quickly. He loves his pup cups, and would be happy to accompany you out and about. Such a loving boy, Kindrow adores attention. He likes to be pet gently, and scratched behind the ears. He’s a total lapdog too, even with his size! He’s a true gentle giant. Kindrow is a bit of an “old man type,” with a non playful dog or a mellow female doggy sibling. Kindrow does do well with kids. We think he could be a great family dog for a home with older children. Kindow’s perfect home will have at least one loving human to keep him company, and lots of milkbones to munch on. We do recommend a kitty-free home for Kindrow! He could be an only-dog, or doggy-siblings with a mellow female dog that won’t engage with him too much. This sweet boy just wants someone to snuggle and kiss. With any questions, please reach out to his adoption coordinator, whose email is linked below. We are willing to test Kindrow with anything you need us to in order to ensure he’s the perfect match for you! We can make most anything happen! Just let us know. Kindrow is fostered in the Houston area and ready for virtual meet and greets! Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? You can join along on our private Facebook event page to follow their adventure, connecting you with other adopters and providing updates throughout their transport journey! You will get to meet your new pup over a video call before signing paperwork, creating a fun and personalized adoption experience! The adoption fee is $825 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectible, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship! We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success. Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: ● Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family ● Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test ● 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion ● A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions ● 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription ● Coupons for a fun visit to Petco ● 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions ● Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer ● Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission! Story
Bessie Dolly is her name, a nod to her cow-like patterning and her sweet southern-belle presence. If you fell in love with her face, we did too, but if you went looking for a body that would match that “Dane” like face, you have already seen that she is giving us dane in the face, lab in the body. Petite lady Dane? Whatever you call her, she is a good girl who loves treats, is sweet to every creature and person she meets, and the perfect companion for quiet mornings and leisurely walks. Take a look and see her in action then come back to read more https://youtu.be/qkRK0GUIW5k One of my favorite things about Bessie is her independent but calm presence. It would be easy to believe she is shy, and sure there is a little shy in there, but more than anything she is peaceful and perfectly happy to lay around and soak it all in. In her foster home, one of her favorite spots to do this is a pool-side lounge chair, its the perfect size for her to stretch out and gives her a great view! Bessie has been fortunate to be fostered in a loving home which has given her a wonderful head-start on being house-trained. When I say house-trained that is not just potty trained- that is the in’s and out's of living in a home. From greeting guests to enjoying treats around other dogs, she has learned the rhythm of a home and it looks good on her. Plus, she is potty-trained, in case I hadn’t said it clearly! When she gets home she will need a tour of her potty places and even a reminder or two but that’s about it. Her foster family has shared that she has great house manners and has been an easy addition to their home which includes a spicy older chihuahua, a cat, as well as a similar sized dog to Bessie. She has been respectful to all the animals in the home, shares treats and food with no problem, and can be best described as a bit of a couch potato. Bessie is estimated to be 2 years old and we believe she may be a dane/lab mix but in rescue both age and breed are details we cannot guarantee. She currently weighs 66 lbs and we believe she is fully-grown, with maybe only a few pounds of weight to come, likely topping off at 70lbs. Her striking resemblance to a Great Dane is a talking point most strangers will comment on, she is a head turner because as she is walking towards you the view is dane but on a closer look she is giving mini-dane almost, though we know that isn’t a thing. Bessie has basic leash skills and keeps an easy pace. From my experience, her pace is more leisurely stroll than speed walker, which I personally love about her. This is again where her foster reminds us she has big couch potato energy. The way Bessie approaches you for a connection and affection can come off as her being a bit shy but after spending time with her I can tell you, she is slow and gentle, but not shy. She is confident but approaches love slowly. It almost feels like she is sensing your warmth and availability before she gives you her love. Everyone gets some but a few get more or even the most. It is easy to see that this girl has a heart full of love and is ready to fall for her forever people. We know Bessie lives with other dogs and enjoys their company. When we initially met her outside of her foster home, we introduced her to new dogs to get a feel of her play style and the type of dogs she gravitates towards. With the other dogs, she showed us a mix of playful and reserved—happy greetings, friendly doggie manners, eager to play while also being just as content to pull-back and go off on her own. She does very clearly love to be chased though. When other dogs were introduced she lit up in a way that we can say with confidence that she would be happiest with a doggie companion. A home with a calm, friendly companion would be a dream! Her size and love of chase and lounging in the sun, makes us believe she would be best suited for a home with a yard. She is quiet though and doesn’t need much more than a small yard and a spot on the couch so condo living is definitely a possibility. She is loving and smart, a polite girl in the home, house trained, peaceful company, and friendly to cats and dogs. Bessie’s quiet demeanor and thoughtful nature make her a special companion and a versatile addition to a multi-pet home. Great Dane 5 1/2 years old Male 130 pounds Kids · 12+ Dogs · No Cats · No What My Friends Say About Me: I’m a gentle giant who’s ready to fill your life with love, laughter, and a few slobbery kisses! I just need slow intros to new people, I like to my time getting to know you. Human affection is my jam. I’m all about belly rubs, snuggles on the couch, and hanging out with you whenever you’re around. I may be big, but I’m also very gentle. I’ve got a soft spot for quiet moments where we can just relax and enjoy each other’s company. The Type of Home I’m Looking For: I’ll be honest—I prefer to be the only pet in my kingdom. Dogs and cats just aren’t my thing. I would do best with older kids who understand my size and energy. I do have a quirk—I can be protective of my toys & treats, so I’d appreciate a home where I can have some space and my own special things. My adoption fee is $240 and includes neuter, microchip & registration, leash/collar, food sample, toy & treat packet.
