Story
Dog Name: Killeen Breed: Pyrenees mix Sex: Male Age: 10 months Weight: 60ish Medical Needs: None Housebroken: Yes; does best on a schedule Crate trained: Yes; may fuss in the beginning, but quiets down well and enjoys sprawling out on his back Good in the car: Yes, though he may boof at things from time to time. Usually after the first boof, he's nonreactive Good on a leash: He tries to pull, but redirects easily with pressure. The more confident you are, the more relaxed he'll be. Energy level: Medium; he enjoys fetch, but is also more than happy to flop on the closest dog bed with a bone. Need a fenced in yard: No, leashed walks will be fine Dog Friendly: Yes, with proper introductions. Killeen is young, and a bit awkward at first meets. Give him a few minutes, and he figures it out. If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive homes? No, but he'd probably enjoy a friend to romp with. Cat Friendly? Yes. One of the residents took offense to him trying to say hello; Killeen stood there for the smackdown, and then offered a play-bow in an attempt to make amends for his presumptuousness. Kid Friendly: Unknown If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with? Older children (8+) who understand how to let a dog come to them, and give him space if he needs it. Traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them? Killeen's motto is goober, goofball, oh heck yeah there goes the ball gotta run gotta run- Eventually. When he came to his foster home, there was work to be done to get him to that point, though really, what he needed most was a little bit of time and a good bit of understanding. He lacked confidence, and while he could certainly still use some of that, as well as socialization, once he's comfortable… he thrives. Killeen LOVES his people, and shows a curiosity for the world that's befitting of a young dog still finding his way. He may react anxiously the first time he sees something new and scary (looking at you, Lowe's animatronics), but once he figures out it means him no harm, it becomes part of the background of life, and Killeen is happy to continue on with his day. If you're looking for a dog that'll love you like you hung every single star just for him, then give Killeen a chance. He'll pay you back in spades for it.
