I am loyal, faithful, a wonderful pup for your family…but I am a BIG girl.  I won’t share the couch; I will fill the entire couch.  I am protective of my flock.  Don’t be surprised if I “herd” the children away from strangers.  I am very loving to my people, and I enjoy attention.  Give me deep scratches, hugs or tasty treats.  I will give you sloppy kisses, contented moans and be the perfect companion.  I am here waiting for you to find me.  Make an appointment to visit me soon!!

This handsome fellow is Oso. He is a very gentle dog. He is currently in foster care. The foster family has been working with him. They say he likes to play dress up with the kids. He has a couple of times resource guards his chew toy with the other dogs. But their dogs have been around his food bowl, water, and bed, with no issues. He heels like a pro, and is very pleasant to walk on a leash. He is making progress with "sit." He goes in his kennel on his own at night, and doesn't chew on furniture. His food bag is in the room where sleeps in and he has never gotten into it when they leave him in there alone. They are working on house training him. He seems to really enjoy being inside with them and is inside more than out, though he does fine outside, too. When he plays with their Husky they have a great time. He is big enough that he can get a little rough just pawing at her and she will correct him. She has been working with him and they like to zoom around the yard. He stays nice and calm inside, not rough housing or jumping. He likes to be cuddled. When outside he is very much a protector, barking at anything that catches his eye and prowling the fence line. That is Great Pyrenees job. He roots like a pig (sounds and all) and is food motivated. He can be cautious with some sounds like the vacuum cleaner and whistling. He was afraid of the carpet at first but seems fine crossing the border now. He is a good listener like when he scratched at door he stopped when corrected. He is quiet all night and has no accidents in his kennel. He tolerates brushing. He his not a big fan of baths. The foster home learned a lot about this loving boy.
