Bert needs your help! He is looking for SPONSORS!! Bert is a sanctuary dog and he will spend the rest of his days on the farm in wonderful care. A sanctuary animal, is one that is deemed unadoptable for whatever reason (behavioral or medical) and it is not a situation where euthanasia is the best choice. But animals like Bert take a lot of love and needed support! If you would be interested in donating, please click here: https://gofund.me/601c3f00 If you would be interested in sponsoring him on a regular basis, email us at oakwoodmeadowssanctuary@gmail.com

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Hello my names Summer! I’m a Survivor! When I was young I was in really rough shape. I was surrendered to a shelter severely underweight and had never been to a vet.  Within a few days of being in my foster home I was diagnosed with parvovirus and was in the hospital for 7 days. After that I was so happy to be back in my foster home.  I was adopted at 10 months old and now find myself looking for a home again because my owner passed away unexpectedly. I’m very smart. I learned very quickly to sit for treats and sit for my leash. I’m about 75 lbs, tall and slender.  I will bark at new people, but if you let me sniff you, I calm down and become your friend very quickly. I will even flip over so you can rub my belly. I’m a little sneaky and can jump a chain link fence. I may require a tie out or taller fence so I don’t accidentally sneak away on you.  I still have the energy of a young dog but I also like to chill with you. I suffer from anxiety and will have to take medications for this for the remainder of my life. I’m looking for someone that will spend lots of time with me and help me become the best dog I can be. I’m looking for a home where I can be the main attraction! I currently love spending lots of time with my foster dad while he works in hes garage. I’m super good on walks and I love spending time outside, I’d make a great hiking companion!  I’ve been looking for my just right person for awhile so please give me a chance to be your best friend!  &#226&#128&#139Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. August 18, 2024, 3:27 pm

Blizzard is a sweet girl who was born 11/26/23. Guessing on breeds, looks to be a pyr/ lab/ hound mix best guess. She will likely be a medium / large sized dog and is the smallest in the group.
