Story
Breed: Great PyreneesSex: MaleDOB: ~11/04/2022Weight: 80 lbs - We are working on putting some weight on Thor. His healthy weight is closer to 100lbs. His breed is considered a Giant Breed and he is big in stature.Energy Level: MediumPersonality Type: Friendly, Gentle, Loyal, Playful, AthleticHistory: Transferred from another shelterIdeal Home: This big boy needs space! He is best suited for a large fenced-in property where he can spend ample time outside, which he prefers and is most comfortable with. Great Pyrenees are bred to guard livestock so they are protective and loyal in nature - this fits Thor to a tee. Thor's hearing is impaired so we suspect he was abandoned at a shelter because he was not able to "do his job" on a farm. Thor is up for an adventure, whether it's hiking on a nature trail or strolling along Detroit's River Walk. Fence Requirements: Large fenced in yard.Special Info:DOG APPLICATION: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=26CAT APPLICATION: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=41EXOTICS APPLICATION: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=46The information we are providing for this animal was developed based on observations and assessments in a shelter or foster environment. We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay online until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peaks your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Fill out the application (DOG:https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=44, CAT: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=41, EXOTICS: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=46) completely. Every question must be answered, and it must be signed.-Applicants must be 21+ years old and live within a 50-mile radius of our shelter at 22415 Groesbeck Hwy, Warren 48089.-You must identify at least 1 animal that you are interested in.Once your application is received, it will be assigned to one of our volunteer Adoption Counselors who will follow-up with the applicant who is the best fit within a few days, or to discuss other options. It could take up to a couple of weeks for you to receive a final disposition on your application so there is no need to check on the status.-Introductions will be scheduled by appointment only, 30 minutes per appointment. The entire household, including current dogs, must be present for the appointment. (Note: Please do not bring your dogs if you are meeting cats!). The introductions will take place outside in our parking lot (or in our cat room if you're meeting cats).-We will perform vet checks for current and prior pets in the household.-Finalizing the adoption will also be scheduled by appointment.Thank you for your understanding.

Story
Need to rehome our Pyr, Tillie. She is about a year and a half old, AKC registered. Big girl is very sweet still has some puppy energy in her. She isn't aggressive and will tolerate other dogs but gets annoyed, really would do best in a home where she would be the only dog. Perfectly fine with cats we have several of those. Small rehoming fee may apply we are located near Flint, MI. Please message if interested for more details.
