Blue is a Great Pyrenees mix (not sure what other breed). About a year and a half old. Up to date on his shots until about May this year, he is chipped and fixed. Kennel trained, knows basic commands (sit, stay, come). I adopted Blue last summer (he was a rescue) and since then I have gotten busier and my money is getting a bit more stretched than what I am comfortable with, so unfortunately I need to find him a new home. I just want him to be with someone who will have more time for him and will treat him well and be able to care for him. Blue is a very chill boy. He likes to lay around the house and cuddle but will also be happy to play if you get him going. He loves to go on walks and be outside in general. He has gotten along with other dogs he has interacted with and isnt reactive, he almost never barks. Overall hes a pretty calm dog and not too difficult. Looking for a loving home and someone who will give him a good life.

Molly was abandoned three months ago and has been with us since. She is very young and playful and doesn't always realize how big she is. She gets along well with my cats but does chase them often but they are use to it and just smack her and she quits. It seems she just wants them to play with her. So far I have had a my other dog, a German Shepard, and my neighbors Pyrenees around her without any issues but she doesn't seem to understand every dog doesn't want to play all the time. She is kept in a kennel while I'm at work and just puts herself in there when I start getting my jacket on and is house broke. She is somewhat iffy with men at first. If any walk in my house she does need to be coaxed to get her to come near them but is then fine with them. She loves to be outside and we have a fenced in chain link yard but she can easily jump over. If I could contain her I would just keep her but I live in town and she loves to run around for an hour before coming home.

This is Sarge. He is a great pyreneese Australian shepherd mix. We got him at 12 weeks on from an Amish person selling them at the local sale barn. He does well with kids other dogs cats and larger live stock I'm unsure about smaller livestock. He jumps our 5 ft fence with no problem so he needs a place he can run! He's a big love bug will become your shadow and follow you everywhere you go.

Hi, I'm Luna Bear! I'm a 8 year old Great Pyrenese mix. I'm an older lady and have been in the shelter system for almost 3 years...I'm a lady of leisure and independence. I appreciate my own space, and while I may not be the life of the dog park, I offer a mellow companionship that's hard to find. I prefer a quiet home where I can relax and be myself. I'm not one for other dogs or cats, but I promise to fill your life with a unique kind of love. If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##2225509##

I found Whiskey and his 9 siblings on a very busy road in the country, talked around to neighbors and found the “owners” who were just feeding them but not keeping them contained. So, I rescued the whole litter and working on getting them all UTD on vaccinations, spay/neuter, wellness exam, heartworm neg. and microchipped. Every single one of the pups are SO SO sweet and docile! They are all living in my backyard with adequate shelter during this time. Looking for rescue or direct adoption.

Grover is an Anatolian Shepherd mix who came to us as a stray in March 2022. He was terrified and didn`t know anyone or where he was going. He got some much needed TLC from our staff and his confidence has since grown tremendously. He is more outgoing, treat motivated, and LOVES to hang out with staff at the front desk. He thinks he is a lap dog and can easily be found in someone`s lap or in a chair of his own! Grover is looking for a home with no kids and no other pets, as he wants to be your only baby! He is so loving and just needs time to adjust to a new home and environment. He needs a family that will give him time and have patience with him while he is settling into his new home. He is so loyal and will love you forever!
