Story
This dog is in Tennessee. Adoption Donation $100 if picked up in TN, $175 plus transport fee for out-of-state adoptions. Meet  Dolly , the spirited and lovable Great Pyrenees/Pit Bull Terrier mix who’s ready to bring joy and laughter into your home! At just 6 months old and weighing 35 pounds,  Dolly  is a medium to high-energy pup who adores attention and playtime. One of  Dolly ’s most endearing habits is her talent for gathering multiple stuffed toys and proudly carrying them all at once—talk about impressive multitasking! She’s already learned to sit for treats and will go to the door when she needs a potty break, though her excitement sometimes gets the best of her.  Dolly  is a big fan of stuffed and crinkly toys, walks, and fetch. She dreams of a fenced yard where she can safely chase squirrels and enjoy her playful antics. While  Dolly  can be a bit socially awkward with new dogs and needs slow introductions, she quickly settles in and shows her sweet side. Crate training is going well for  Dolly —she’ll go in for treats and settles down after a brief whine. She walks nicely on a leash and is a calm car rider.  Dolly  would thrive in a loving home with a yard, where she can enjoy cuddle sessions on the couch, fun walks, and lots of playtime. If you’re looking for a loyal and trainable companion,  Dolly  is your girl. Bring this bundle of joy home and watch her fill your days with happiness!    Interested in adopting? Take the first step and complete an adoption application on our website: http://aarf-tn.com/adopt/adoption-apps/ If you have questions that are not covered in the profile, visit the Pet Inquiry Form: http://aarf-tn.com/contact/pet-inquiry-form/. THIS PET IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE! We do list and adopt our pets nationwide. Typical transport cost to the Northeast is $180. Due to interstate adoption regulations, we are not able to adopt to RI and MA state residents. A.A.R.F. (All About Rescue and Fixin' Inc.) http://aarf-tn.com/ is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) no kill animal rescue organization located in the Upper Cumberland area of Tennessee. A.A.R.F. is comprised of unpaid volunteers and survives only on public donations. Thank you for thinking adoption first! Prior to adoption, all canines and felines are spayed or neutered, have received their age appropriate vaccinations, have been de-wormed for common parasites, and have received treatment for prevention of fleas and ticks. All canines over the age of 6 months have been tested for heartworm. All canines are put on heartworm prevention as soon as possible - this means dogs as soon as they are tested negative. Puppies are put on prevention immediately. All felines, regardless of age, have been tested for Feline Leukemia/FIV. Each animal receives a health check by a licensed veterinarian prior to adoption. Anything else found will be treated by our organization prior to adoption. August 17, 2024, 11:52 pm

Story
We adopted this older Pyrenees about two years ago, and’s unfortunately due to changing work schedules, we just do not have the time to give her the attention she deserves. - reported as 6 years old when we got her, but our very suspects older (8-10 at this time, maybe) - reported chronic bladder infections when we got her. She has had one infection in the past two years, but daily supplements seem to be keeping her clear. - VERY slow moving dog, but she loves long walks - She would happily spend most of her time laying outdoors in the shade - We’ve never had a problem with adults or children of any age, but she does not like other dogs. (Never tried introducing cats) - experience with older dogs is a plus, and with Great Pyrenees even better Lola will come with her bowls, leash and collar, bed etc.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.*adoption fee is fully sponsored *Levi is a two year old neutered male great pyrenees from KY. He is a sweet soul. He came in emaciated at the end of September 2023 and has gained much needed weight and his gorgeous coat has come back in. Our first priority was to get all the matts out of his coat. His coat was in poor condition, dry and brittle. Levi seems to have some hearing loss, sort of like an old dog would when he is asleep, he doesnt hear you but feels vibrations mostly but does appear to hear certain tones. He does have some hearing so not totally deaf. We have been teaching him some sign language that he is responding to! Levi has gained weight and muscle mass. He is able to run around and play with the other dogs. At this point it does not look like his arthritis will effect him much in the near future but will later in life. Keeping him thin, regular exercise and supplements are a must.***We suspected Levi has issues with his back legs and xrays confirmed he does have hip dysplasia as well as the start of arthritis in his knees. We have started him on supplements and an exercise program to build muscles in those back legs and get him strong and healthy. Despite his medical issues this is one great dog. We are hopeful someone will want to share their home with the sweetheart and he doesnt have to live in a kennel. Please visit our website for more pictures of this dog and info on our adoption process and application which is located on the left column under "forms & applications" :                            https://barkdogfarm.rescuegroups.org Before applying be sure you have thoroughly researched Great Pyrenees.  They can be stubborn, prone to barking, overly protective and cannot be off leash.  You WILL NOT train a pyr to boundaries.  Please be sure all family members are in agreement to adopting and your family is ready to bring dog home now. Applicants must be at least 21 years old. We do not have blanket criteria regarding adoptions. Each applicant is considered based on many things including but not limited to breed experience, yard ( visible fence preferred) and other animals in home. We try to avoid dogs with same sex households as pyrs typically do not do well with the same sex. A volunteer will be in touch to discuss your application and the dog to determine if it is a good match. Your vet and two references will be called.  A virtual home visit done. Once approved a meet and greet at the farm will take place.  If all are in agreement and the animal has received its NH health certificate an adoption contract will be signed and adoption fee paid.  Adoption fees for dogs are $450. for adults over 12 months, $550 for puppies 12 months and younger.  Fees for seniors, special needs or harder to place dogs will be determined by our Board of Directors. All dogs will be altered when adoption is finalized. This may involve young puppies be given until a certain age to be altered. All animals are up to date on age appropriate core vaccines, negative for parasites, heart worm and lyme tested if 6 months or older, microchipped and have a current health certificate.  Proof of a basic obedience course completed is part of our adoption contract within six months. Our descriptions are based on shelter evaluations, input from foster homes and interactions with our volunteers but are in no way a guarantee of temperment. We show animals by appointment only. This is usually done meet outdoors so please dress accordingly. Please email barkingdogfrm@gmail.com with any questions or to arrange a meet and greet.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 18, 2024, 9:29 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sadie loves to ride in the car and go for walks and does very well on a leash. She waits patiently for her collar and leash to be attached and lets you pass through the doorway first without pushing. She likes being outside sniffing the ground and keeping her eyes on the perimeter for squirrels, birds and wildlife. She is prey driven and will need to be redirected, especially when chipmunks and squirrels are encountered. Sadie is very playful and a really sweet girl. She has the silkiest fur that is very soft and she enjoys being petted and loves to stretch out and be massaged over her face, legs, back and tummy. She will take a nap on her dog lounge and is content to chew on a Benebone, play with a toy or just stand and look out the front window. She likes to keep watch up and down the road to see any activity and will bark when a dog, bicycle rider or dog walkers are out and about. She will entertain herself with her assorted toys inside but is happy to run or trot around the backyard exploring the perimeter looking for wildlife and doesn’t need any balls or Frisbees thrown for her. Sadie is very neat and tidy and never has any accidents in the house. She can go through the night and waits until she is taken outside in the morning to pee and poop. She sleeps quietly in the bedroom, on the couch or on her dog lounge. She prefers a cooler place and enjoys a fan blowing on her. Sadie eats her breakfast and dinner, but loves eating snacks. She pays little attention to the noise of the garbage bag shaken out to fit into the bin and any other unusually loud noises, including the vacuum. Sadie prefers to have free range of the house rather than being crated but she does walk into her open door crate to check it out. She has been known to be restless when left alone for longer periods and will rip apart Kleenex tissue boxes if she’s bored. Sadie enjoys dog treat puzzles and will continue searching until she has found and eaten all the prizes. Sadie likes to sit and wait quietly while she gets used to meeting new people. She will gently take treats that are offered. Sadie likes to be in your company and communicates a great deal by sitting right in front of you and pushing her head against you for attention and looking right at you when she needs something—potty break, food, play time etc. She will greet you with a hug or put her front paws in your lap if you’re sitting. Sadie is a very happy girl and will give you lots of love!
