Story
Hello all! This is Bernie and he was brought to us when his owner could no longer care for him. This handsome big boy is now looking for his new forever home! Bernie is a timid guy and would thrive with a family who can take things slow with him while he adjusts to his new life. He is a large dog and we would love for Bernie to find a home with a spacious, fenced in backyard so that he can stretch those long legs out! Due to his size, Bernie may also benefit from being in an actual home rather than a small apartment. As always we recommend slow and monitored introductions over time between Bernie and any other animals or people in the home currently.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Hi, I'm Lane. I am a three year old girl who has enough energy to power the entire state of NC. I've been at my foster mom's since I was 11 weeks old. I'm really good in my crate during the day while foster mom is at work. I sleep in my crate at night as well. I also express my opinion when I'm crated and something else is happening in the house. I have strong FOMO! I may not look it, but my foster mom.had my DNA tested and I am Great Pyrenees, along with some staffie and some pittie and cattle dog. These long legs like to run lots of zoomies around the yard. They also help me jump like a kangaroo. A high fence may be necessary to contain my excitement. I would do best in an active household, with no small kids and no small animals. I do have a strong herding instinct. My foster mom had a cat that I really like to put in my mouth. I don't think the cat appreciated it very much. But I find it a lot of fun. I don't have to be the only dog in the household, but the other dog should probably be my size or a little larger and most likely a male dog. I seem to get along best with them. No girl drama! I can also be very protective of my stuff - food and toys especially. I don't like sharing them with other dogs. I am also the BEST guard dog - maybe a little too good. I want to alert you that you just let a stranger in the house and I have to go into protector mode. I am still learning that not everyone is trying to sell us solar panels and I don't need to be so mean sounding to foster mom's guests. If you are a dog savvy family that is willing to work with training and help me become the best dog ever, please put in an application. I would love to find my forever home. You can apply to adopt me here: https://www.pawfectmatch.org/info/adoptionVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 19, 2024, 11:33 am

Max is a very loving and loyal pup. He is two years old; birthday in February. He loves to spend time snuggling and playing outside. He is great with kids! Although Max enjoys playing with his fur siblings, he has become possessive and dislikes when my male Shephard approaches. Max will thrive in a home with no other male dogs. He does great with chickens and birds!

My foster mom has 2 dogs and I get along great with them. I also love everyone that I meet including children. I am very laid back and happy to lay around the house most of the time, but I also love to get out for a walk. I am incredibly well mannered and my foster mom says I don't have a single bad habit! I am affectionate and will get on the couch to sleep while my people are watching tv, but I also enjoy having my own space. Story
We might as well have named him "how to study how quickly humans can fall in love with a dog". No need to study the history of human beahvior...just come meet Anthropology and you will experience the experience of true love. This Great Pyrenees mix came to us in poor shape, with a skin infection and very underweight. This guy IS the makeover story of 2024 and into 2025. With regular meals, he has begun to put on weight but needs many many more lbs as he weighs just 54 lbs now. He has been sweet, soft, and wonderful and will be a lumbering gentleman when he reaches full handsome level. Anthropology has been good with other dogs and is a volunteer favorite for sure. Come meet this handsome make-over and love story of a life time! **Volunteer Dog Walker feedback: "Very sweet with people and other dogs. Anthropology has energy on the hike but not out of control and was easily directed to where we needed to be. He enjoyed being petted, scratched and he leaned into my body several times for contact and pets!"
