Story
Wyatt the gentle giant, is a very sweet, extremely calm, 4 year old Great Pyrenees mix. He loves to lay around and be lazy. He was raised with 4 children ranging from teen to newborn.  He is very low energy.Wyatt loves going for car rides. He has been around other dogs and cats without issue. He is accustomed to free feeding. He was raised on a raw food diet and bagged food but can transition to either.Wyatt can be contained with any fence at least 4 foot. In his former home he was invisible fence trained. His ideal home is one where he can lay around and enjoy both inside and outside. He would love a home with kids, but he would also be a good dog for those with a more sedintary life, because he's so calm. Wyatt will need semi regular grooming to prevent painful matts. His coat can be maintained with thorough brushing. Wyatt is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. If you are interested in Wyatt, you can apply at mpravl.org! His adoption fee is $200. All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at pets@mpravl.org for more information. Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label. Mountain Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax deductible charity (EIN 82-3039637) located in Asheville, NC. August 20, 2024, 2:15 am

Story
Ava is the sweetest pup to ever live! I rescued her after she was abandoned at the dump with her litter mates (one of which was genetically tested— she’s primarily Great Pyrenees with some Black Lab and Australian Shepherd thrown in) but am going through a divorce and would like a better situation for this lovable girl. She loves people and other dogs and is very cat curious (my cat is uninterested). She loves attention and is still young with a lot of puppy energy. Ava is very smart and has mastered basic commands (sit, lay down, off, kennel up, here), and we’ve been working on her manners (not jumping at greeting, licking) but needs consistency to keep up with her training. Her kennel will be included in her adoption. I would love to find a great home for this loving and active girl!

Story
Hello my name is Bella , most know me by my smile , I am completely house trained and crate trained during winter , in the summer i am an outside protector because i love lazy days of digging and playing in the shade . I have a sister I am currently upset with and continue to fight with over the smallest things but i do not fight with other dogs , like my little brother , I would love to find a home without my sister , my parents have tried for over 5 years to keep us together and they no longer can put up with the fights and unhappy times that seem to come when we r together, without my sister I love to take walks and get pets from my humans , all the kids love me and I love to play with squeeky chicken toys , my mom says she got me from old fort , and I am close to being 6 years olds next April. I need a big yard and lots of space to run and dig holes in , I will keep u safe and I love belly rubs the most , I do snore when i cuddle .

This is a courtesy post. Please do not contact Heart of the Foothills Animal Rescue for information. Contact information is provided in the description below.Camaro is a three-year old Great Pyrenees-Pit Bull Terrier mix. She is a love bug, but is dog aggressive towards her sister, Bailey. The person who has been taking care of her is not sure how she would be with other dogs or cats. She is learning not to jump, to walk o a leash, and working on her manners. She is good with women and kids, not sure about men. She rides well in the car. She has been outside her whole life, so not sure if she is house trained or not. SHe is spayed and up-to-date on vaccinations. If you are interested in Camaro, please email sommerfeldtnichole@gmail.com

Story
It's not her, it's us. Look, Luna is a wonderful dog. She's just not the right dog for our family. We've had her since she was five months old, and she's always been great with the kids and other dogs. She is very loving and wants to be pet all the time. She thinks she is a lap dog, and her dream scenario would be living on a farm where you can roam free during the day and snuggle up with you in bed at night. We relocated from California last year, and our new property doesn't have a fence. This has caused problems as Luna sees that as an invitation to roam. She's run off on multiple occasions to frolic through the forest, and while she always comes back, this obviously isn't an ideal situation. We feel bad keeping her chained up all day and know that she would have a much more fulfilled life if she had space to run around and someone to snuggle her at the end of the day. If you think that's you and your family, we'd love to chat. We love Luna and want her to thrive.
