Story
We have had Moose since he was a puppy. Our original intentions were for livestock guardian purposes, but that didn't happen he has been a household pet from the beginning. My husband and youngest child do not like Moose, and unfortunately he has become a source of contention in our family dynamic. He has recently been showing signs of aggression toward our cats. We have decided it would be best for him and our family to rehome him to a more appropriate environment where he can be himself and be happy, loved by all members of the household. Moose is 2.5 years old (born 6/18/2022), purebred Great Pyrenees, neutered, up to date on all vaccines and parasite medications (treated monthly with simparica trio), microchipped, and weighs 96lbs. He is goofy and playful, but a bit anxious at times, and suspicious of strangers/new things as pyrs are known for. Good with kids and dogs but NOT chickens or cats. NEEDS SECURE FENCING (not invisible).

Story
Meet Oogi! This sweet boy came to us with his brothers, Momo and Appa, as strays. When we took them in they were emaciated, matted, and overall in very poor condition. Thankfully these boys are all starting to bounce back and recover from their obvious neglect, and showing their truly sweet personalities. While they have a long road of recovery ahead of them, Oogi and his brothers are hopeful they will find their furever family to provide lots of good ol' TLC. Oogi is still just a puppy and has likely not spent much time in a home, so he will need help with things like socialization and positive reinforcement based training to help him become a model canine citizen. If you have other animals at home we recommend bringing them in for a meet and greet before taking Oogi home. If you're interested in meeting Oogi, head over to out website, fairfieldcountydog.com and fill out an adoption application. Our staff will then reach out to you to schedule an appointment. Story
Meet Sol! This girl is very near and dear to our hearts. Sol was dumped with her sister, Luna, in late 2022. We trapped Luna not long after she was dumped and she has been happily adopted! After almost two years we were finally able to trap Sol, who had delivered a litter of puppies under a building. All of Sols puppies have been adopted to wonderful families. Sol is now fully-vetted and has adapted nicely to being a spoiled house dog! Sol gets along great with other dogs and is gentle with children. She has lived with cats and her relationship with them varies depending on the cat.Sol is timid in new situations and is not confident on a leash. She does go outside to potty and will require a fenced yard. Due to her history, it can take time for Sol to warm up to new people and places. Sol is mostly not an affectionate dog although she will gladly roll over for tummy rubs when shes laying next to you in bed.Despite her large size, Sol plays great with smaller dogs and has lived with several dogs under 20 pounds. She shares her food and water dish with other pets in the home and sometimes sleeps with two medium/large dogs in an open crate. Sol will give a deep bark and back away when startled. She hasnt shown any aggression towards adults or children, even when scared.
