Story
Introducing Han Solo, the fluffiest space cadet this side of the galaxy! At 6 months old and 58 pounds of pure fluff, this Great Pyrenees is ready to make the jump to light speed—right into your heart. With a coat as white as Hoth snow and a personality that’s out of this world, Han Solo is the ultimate co-pilot for all your adventures, whether you’re exploring the backyard or cruising through the neighborhood. Han came to us after a brief stint at the shelter where, for reasons that boggle the mind, he went unclaimed. Their loss is definitely your gain because this boy is ready to bring his mix of charm, fluff, and a little bit of swagger into your life. Han Solo has a special talent for making your home feel like the Millennium Falcon. He’s got a knack for finding the coziest spots in the house—whether it’s at your feet while you’re working or right in the middle of your kitchen floor (because who doesn’t need a fluffy speed bump while cooking?). And don’t worry about the Dark Side—Han’s as good as they come, with no resource guarding in sight. He’ll gladly share his toys, his space on the couch, and even his favorite spot by the fountain, which he’s transformed into his personal splash zone. When it comes to car rides, Han Solo is the epitome of chill. He hops right in, ready for the next adventure, and spends the journey either taking in the sights or lying down like the seasoned traveler he is. Public outings? Han’s got potential. He’s still figuring out the whole “don’t jump on people” thing, but with a little training, he’ll be the most charming sidekick at any café or pet store. Han Solo’s leash manners are as smooth as his coat—he doesn’t pull or try to trip you up, which makes him the perfect walking buddy. And while he’s still working on his potty training and learning that shoes are not chew toys, he’s making great strides. He’s already mastered the art of sleeping in his crate and happily goes in for treats, so you know he’s a quick learner. But there’s one other thing Han’s new family should be prepared for: this Jedi-in-training can be a bit mouthy. Whether it’s a playful nibble or a reminder that you’re late for playtime, Han Solo likes to communicate with his mouth. So, if you’re ready to channel your inner Yoda and work with him on this little quirk, you’ll be rewarded with a loyal companion who’s eager to please—once he’s done trying to nibble on your fingers to get your attention that is ;) . Now, about his guardian duties—Han Solo takes them seriously. He’s a Level 3 Guardian Barker, which means he’ll patrol your yard with the dedication of a Jedi Knight, letting you know if a squirrel dares to enter his territory. But don’t worry, he’s not one to bark without reason; he’s just making sure your home is safe from any intergalactic threats. And as a true Great Pyrenees, he’s got a few quirks you’ll want to prepare for. First, understand that Han Solo hears what you say—he just doesn’t care. He’ll acknowledge your recall request with a regal ear twitch, but don’t expect eye contact or immediate compliance. He’s got 3,000 years of independent thinking in his DNA, so getting him to sit might feel like negotiating with Jabba the Hutt. Let’s talk about shedding—if you’re the type to ask if he sheds, just know you’re not adopting Han Solo; you’re adopting a fluffy snowstorm that will cover your floors, your furniture, and quite possibly, your entire wardrobe. Embrace the fur, or prepare to be outsmarted by a dog who truly believes he’s the ruler of his own galaxy. Han Solo is a social butterfly with other dogs, especially puppies, and while he’s not had much experience with kids or cats, his happy-go-lucky nature suggests he could adapt with the right guidance. He’s a mix of playful and calm, enjoying a good game of fetch as much as he loves a quiet moment by your side. He’s also got a thing for water, whether it’s splashing in a fountain or joining you in the shower—yes, you read that right, he’s a water-loving Pyr! This fluffy rebel is still figuring out his place in the universe, but one thing’s for sure—he’s ready to bring a whole lot of love, laughter, and a bit of light-speed energy to a home that’s ready to embrace his big personality and even bigger heart. So, if you’re looking for a loyal co-pilot who’s equal parts playful and cuddly, Han Solo might just be the one to lead your family to a galaxy of fun and adventure. 📍 Pickup Location: Tulsa, OK 📝 Adoption App: https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app

Story
Oh, hey there! Name’s Socks, and I'm a dapper 4-month-old Great Pyrenees mix with enough fluff to stock a winter coat factory. At 31 pounds and counting, I’m growing fast and have big plans to keep my family safe from all the invisible dangers (like butterfly sneak attacks and phantom crickets). Alright, here’s the backstory (cue the dramatic music): My brother, Ghost Bear, and I had a bit of a rough start. We somehow ended up in the shelter together, just a couple of fluffballs trying to figure out what happened. It was loud, cold, and honestly pretty scary for a pair of sweet pups like us. But then, we got our lucky break—we landed with the awesome folks at Pyr Paws N Fluffy Tails Rescue, and now we’re on the lookout for our forever homes! Here's the rundown: I’m a certified sweet boy who loves affection but won’t demand it 24/7. In fact, I'm the type of pup who appreciates a little me time here and there—I’ll even stroll over to my kennel and settle down all by myself, like a proper gentleman. But don’t worry; I still keep an eye on you because someone has to make sure you don’t sneak off without me! I’m happiest when I'm within eyesight of my humans. You want to go outside? Great, let’s go. Hang out inside? Yep, I’m in. I’m flexible like that, just as long as I’m part of the action. And if you’re busy, don’t worry—I’ve got a bone-chewing hobby to keep me occupied, though I might take a break to see if you’ve dropped any snacks. Now, I’m not gonna lie—I approach life with a healthy dose of skepticism. New places? Hmm. Gonna need a minute. New things? I’ll take a hard pass at first, thank you very much. Bathtubs? Nope. That’s where I draw the line. Water might be nice in a bowl, but in a tub, it’s basically lava, and I will absolutely fight you on that one. But put a treat in front of me, and suddenly, I’m ready to conquer the world! Did someone say “sit”? Oh, I know that one. I can sit for a treat like a pro… though staying seated might be a challenge when my puppy energy kicks in. I've got moves that could rival a pogo stick, especially when my brother and I get into a wrestling match—playtime is the best time, after all! Now, if you’re more of a homebody, don’t worry—I’m totally good with that too. Whether we’re kicking back on the couch or watching TV (I hear dogs in shows are endlessly entertaining), I’m right there with you. Alright, here’s the deal on my potential future roommates—furry and otherwise: I’m a pretty chill dude when it comes to other dogs, especially if they’re cool with my play style. My brother and I have wrestling matches that look like they belong on pay-per-view, so if you’ve got a playful pup at home, I’d be happy to team up. But if you’re more into the single-dog lifestyle, that’s fine too! I’m good at entertaining myself (give me a bone, and I’m set), and I’ll gladly soak up all your attention without needing a tag team partner. Now, about cats… that’s a mystery to me. I haven’t met one yet, but I hear they’re pretty tiny and fast. If your cat has a “no dogs allowed” policy, fair warning: I might need a little practice in respecting feline boundaries (hey, I’m a curious pup!). As for kids, the same story. I haven’t spent time with any mini-humans, so I can’t promise I know all the kid rules yet. If your household includes younger ones, I’d be happy to give it a try. I’m gentle at heart, but a little patience would go a long way as I learn the ropes. Alright, let’s get to the heart of the matter—my vibe. I’m what you might call a “happy-go-lucky, play-hard-then-chill” kind of guy. I’ll jump into playtime with other pups, wrestle for a bit, and throw my best puppy moves. But once I’ve had my fill, I’m just as happy to lay low and recharge my batteries (preferably somewhere cozy with a good bone). Energetic? Sure! I’ve got a solid dash of spunk, and I do best with a buddy who can match my play style or a family who’s ready to keep my brain working with all the right toys and games. Now, full disclosure: I’m still figuring out this thing you humans call “fetch.” I mean, I’m happy to watch you throw the ball, but me bringing it back? Not so much. I’m more of a “you throw, I cheer you on” kind of guy. Could I do apartment living? Sure… with some fine print. I’d need a schedule packed with walks, playtime, or maybe a doggy daycare hookup to keep my energy in check. Otherwise, I might get a little stir-crazy without all my usual backyard exploration. As for potty training, we’re almost there! I’ve got the hang of most things, but every so often, I’ll still surprise you with a little pee accident (usually just a couple of times a week). But hey, no indoor pooping for this guy—I’ve got standards! I can sleep a solid 6 hours in the kennel before I need a bathroom break, so we’re getting close to the potty-trained finish line. Now, here’s my one mischievous quirk… I’m a bit of a shoe thief. Don’t worry, I won’t destroy them—I just think they make great collectibles. Barking? I’m a Level 2 Guardian: I’m cool as a cucumber until the other dogs start barking. Once they sound the alarm, I’ll join in, just to make sure everyone knows I’m on the job too. One thing you should know about me: I’m not looking to be a part-time pal. Nope, I’m here for the long haul! I’m what you’d call a forever dog—the kind who wants to be part of the family through every chapter, not just for the easy ones. So, if you’re thinking of adding me to your life, know that I’ll be there through all of it—the moves, the new babies, the changes, and every wild and wonderful thing in between. I’ve already had my fair share of uncertainty, and I’m ready for a home that sees me as family. If that’s what you’re looking for, too, then we might just be the perfect match. 📍 Pickup In Yukon, OK

Story
My life hasn't always been the easiest...... You see, I was born to a family that has a lot of other dogs (think around 20 or so) and we were all allowed to do out own thing. Which wasn't bad when I was a young and playful pup still new to the world, but as I got older some dogs decided they wanted to be bullies and sadly I was one of the dogs they had set their eyes on. I wasn't fond of that life anymore. I wanted something more. The thing is...I had no idea what "more" was. This was the only life I had ever known. I knew I could not stay there anymore though, and ended up wandering off. I have to admit, I didn't get too far before I started feeling defeated. I had no home, no family, and no shelter. I was truly on my own. I ended up hanging around in a certain area for days. So long that a kind family who saw me thought I had been dumped. Turns out, I did have a family nearby but they didn't want me back...I could have told them that but I guess it was worth a try. That is when they ended up working out a plan to earn my trust and as soon as they caught me, they reached out for help. PPFT ended up answering their call thanks to an amazing foster family stepping up for me. And before I knew it, I was on my way to something "more". They estimate me to be around 3 years old, time has passed rather quickly for me so I guess that sounds about right. I am around 72lbs so am a bigger girl, but I wouldn't say I am too big...compared to some of those Pyrabears. I am more like a mini Pyrabear...wouldn't you agree? I have to say life’s been one big plot twist after another for me! I’m pretty sure I had a name with my former family, but they must have had a serious case of forgetfulness because they never used it. Then came my foster mom, who dubbed me Harmony, and oh, the joy of having a name that actually gets spoken! It’s like winning the doggy lottery. But wait—there’s more! When I arrived at my foster home, I was not left out in the cold (literally). Instead, they opened the doors to the Great Indoors, and let me tell you, it was weird at first. Walls? Furniture? A roof? I didn’t know what to do with myself! But now? I’m all about that inside life. Potty in the house? Not on my watch! I’ve got standards, people. My foster family lets me outside frequently, and I appreciate the reminders because this indoor living gig is still new to me. They also introduced me to this thing called a kennel, but let’s be real—it’s not my vibe. I mean, would you want to be cooped up after living life as a free spirit? I tried whining my case, but when that didn’t work, I begrudgingly settled down. Luckily, my foster folks saw my good manners and said, “You know what? Free roam it is!” Now, let’s talk about the real villain in my story: the TV. Imagine this—you walk into a room, and suddenly, there are people talking, strange sounds blaring, and you can’t see a soul. Witchcraft, I tell you! For now, I’m steering clear of the couch because that’s where the TV monster lives. Maybe someday I’ll figure out its secrets, but for now, I’ll stick to safer territories. On the bright side, I’ve discovered the pure magic that is toys. Whoever invented these deserves a medal. The other Pyrs in the house give me the side-eye for playing fetch—they say it’s “beneath us.” But you know what? If chasing after a thrown toy and bringing it back makes me happy, I’ll just let them judge. More fun for me, less effort for them. Win-win. Now, about my ideal home: apartments (aka “fun-size houses”) aren’t my thing. I need a proper yard where I can sunbathe, patrol for intruders (both real and imaginary), and occasionally nap on the deck. Oh, and one thing you should know about me—I’m quite the vocalist. From suspicious squirrels to the injustice of a falling leaf, I’ll make sure you’re always in the loop. Neighbors who don’t appreciate my protective serenades? Pfft, they clearly don’t recognize raw talent when they hear it. My vocal performances are chef’s kiss, but let’s just say I might not win "Neighbor of the Year" if your street prefers peace and quiet over my soulful ballads. If your neighbors have a low tolerance for my guardian nature (a.k.a. protecting you from sneaky squirrels, delivery drivers, and the occasional suspicious leaf), you might want to think twice before rolling out the welcome mat for me And let’s talk about glipyr. Oh, you’re not familiar? Allow me to educate you. Glipyr is my artistic contribution to your household—a fine sprinkling of fur that will decorate your floors, your furniture, your clothes, and, occasionally, your snacks. I call it personalized fluffy seasoning. If you're not ready to embrace the joys of vacuuming on a near-daily basis, I might not be your match. But hey, welcome to Owning a Fluffy Dog 101: where the love is endless, and the fur is, too! So, let’s get this out of the way—my old digs? Not exactly a five-star resort. Imagine living with 20 dogs and no adult supervision. It was like a canine version of a bad reality show: “Who’s the Boss?” (Spoiler: it wasn’t me.) Some of the bigger personalities didn’t exactly roll out the welcome mat, which is how I found myself packing my kibble and heading for greener pastures. When I first got to my foster home, I saw there were more dogs, and let’s just say I was not thrilled. I was on high alert, ready to guard my dinner and my dignity. But then I noticed something shocking—they weren’t trying to steal my food or stage a hostile takeover. They were... nice? Who knew that was even an option? I’m still warming up to the whole “dog friendship” thing, and while I’m okay with calm, chill types, the overenthusiastic ones who bounce around and want to play in my face? Yeah, no thanks. I’m more of a “you do your thing, I’ll do mine” kind of gal, at least at first. I've officially graduated from "defensive mode" to "social butterfly" with my foster's other dogs. You could say we're like a puppy band now—playing in harmony! But, just a heads up: while I've made some great strides, I'm still working on my "let's be friends!" playlist with new dogs, so my new family will need to keep their cool and be okay with taking things slow. You know, just in case I need to hit the pause button and regress a little with all the new changes. It’s all part of my "learning to love the pack" journey, and I promise I’ll get there with a little patience As for those mysterious creatures called "purrinators" (cats to you humans), I’ve only had a brief encounter with one, and it went something like this: they existed, I existed, and neither of us cared. So, I’m pretty sure we’d get along just fine. Little humans? There aren’t any in my foster home, but I’m a gentle, sweet soul who loves attention, so I think we’d be cool—if they can promise to skip the stampeding and climbing. I’m all about soft pets and whispers of how pretty I am, not a rodeo, thank you very much. Now, let’s talk about the holidays. My foster family threw a little shindig, and guess who turned out to be the surprise star of the show? That’s right, yours truly. I was on my absolute best behavior—making friends, soaking up pets, and dazzling everyone with my charm. Turns out, I’m quite the social butterfly when it comes to humans. Let me paint you a picture: Imagine stepping into a world full of strange, giant things—like leashes (seriously, who invented that?), big metal beasts with wheels, and places that aren’t your cozy home. That’s my life right now. If you were to suddenly experience the outside world as an adult for the first time, you’d be just as wide-eyed and curious as I am. It's all new to me, but don't worry, I’m taking it one step at a time (literally). Now, I’m not exactly a “go, go, go” kind of gal. I mean, I could be if I wanted to, but why rush when I can take my time soaking in the sights, sounds, and smells of this brand new world? The whole “Stop and smell the roses” thing? Yeah, that’s my vibe. If we’re out on a walk, don’t expect to be breaking any speed records. In fact, I’ll probably be stopping every two seconds to sniff things—so we’ll get really acquainted with the neighborhood. And hey, don’t say I didn’t warn you, because I’m quite the looker. I have this gorgeous mask and some seriously adorable freckles that will have people stopping you to gush over me. You might even end up being known as “Harmony’s parents,” instead of being called by your respective names and honestly? I think that has a nice ring to it. Think of it as an honor. You’re welcome. 😉 I’ve learned a lot from my foster family, and I know there’s still more to figure out, even after I’ve officially found my forever home. So, I’m on the lookout for a family that’s patient, kind, and willing to help me keep growing into the best dog I can be. The thing I want most in this world now is a forever home. I don't want to be your until dog. I don't want to be someone that is with you for a little bit and then when a new job or baby comes along, you send me packing. I want to be your forever and I hope you want me to be yours too. I hope you will consider adopting me and apply to welcome me to your family at https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app Once we have your application, the fantastic humans at PPFT will get to work processing it, making sure my foster family gives their stamp of approval (because, let’s face it, they know me better than anyone). They’ll also send over some fun facts about me that you might not have learned yet. Trust me, there’s always more to know Now, I’m not against a road trip, even if you live out of state. However, I do have one little request: you’ve got to come pick me up yourself. Why, you ask? Well, if I’m going to embark on this grand adventure, I’d rather already be with my forever family, so we can start bonding right away. And really, what better bonding experience is there than being stuck in a car together for hours, navigating traffic, and sharing snacks? It’s basically the ultimate puppy/parent team-building activity. So, what do you say? Let’s make this forever thing happen! 🐾💖 Harmony

They say I'm a little wicked, but I say I'm wonderfully magical—Elphaba, at your service, ready to charm my way right into your heart! I’m the kind of girl who knows exactly what I want and isn’t afraid to go after it—small in size, big in personality. I may be the tiniest of my litter, but I’ve got no problem making my presence known. I keep up with the best of them, and while I might not have the muscles, I’ve got the brains. I know exactly when to turn on the charm and flash those puppy dog eyes (works every time), and when it’s time for a wrestling match, you better believe I’m coming out on top. I’m not one to drown you in slobbery kisses, but when you need a snuggle, a kiss, or just a friend who’s always got your back, I’m your girl. Loyalty? That’s my middle name. I adore other dogs and would love a furry sidekick in my forever home, but I’m also just fine as the solo act. As for the purrinators—yep, we’re getting along great. They probably see the spark of greatness in me and have decided I’m not so bad after all. And don’t even get me started on kids. I love them! Just a heads-up: My love language is more about being by your side, watching over you like the little guardian I am, rather than showering you with endless cuddles and kisses. You could say a lot of my personality comes from my past. I might be young, but I’ve already had my share of heartbreak. Me and my two siblings were abandoned on the side of the road like yesterday’s leftovers. Luckily, a Good Samaritan found us and reached out to PPFT, which is how I ended up here. Unfortunately, my rough start didn’t stop there. Even after finding safety, I had to face another battle—Parvo. I spent almost two weeks at the vet, fighting my way back to health. But with their top-notch care and my resilience, I kicked Parvo to the curb! Now, I’m back in my foster home, feeling strong and ready to find my forever family. I’m the kind of girl who’s all about adventure! Sure, I haven’t figured out this whole “leash walk” thing yet, and the vet and foster home are basically my only known territories. But hey, I’m a confident and outgoing pup, and with a little guidance, I’ll be all over new experiences. That said, I’m also totally open to being a homebody—it sounds a bit boring, right? But with another dog to play with or some kids to entertain me, I’d be just as happy! I’m about 10 weeks old now and believed to be a Great Pyrenees mix. As for what else runs through my veins… well, I’m pretty sure there’s some Husky in there. It would explain why I’m so chatty and have no qualms about using my voice! 😉 Now, I know when people hear “Husky,” they sometimes imagine crazy antics like running circles around the yard at lightning speed (and maybe even plotting world domination), but don't worry, I’m not that extreme. I’ve got the mellow Great Pyrenees side to balance me out, so while I love having fun and going on adventures, I’m also a fan of my cozy naps and downtime. When it comes to potty training, I’m on the right track. I’m pretty good about using potty pads and I’ve learned to go outside when prompted. I just haven’t quite cracked the code on that doggie door yet—still trying to figure out how it’s my magical pass to outside potty time without having to ask. I’ve spent time in a kennel and enjoy it for naps, but I’m not sure how I’d feel about being locked in. That sounds like some kind of witchcraft! I’m a talkative girl who loves to explore, so an apartment might not be the best fit for me. A house with a big, sprawling yard sounds like paradise—plenty of room for adventures and loud declarations of my presence. Oh, and fair warning: I’m a curious little thing. I’m not really a chewer, but I’m definitely the type to give everything a taste test. So, it might be best to keep your stuff out of reach if you don’t want me adding my “artistic” flair to it! 😉 So, if you’re ready for a playful, chatty, adventure-loving pup with a side of chill, I might just be your perfect match! I’m looking for a family who’ll give me plenty of room to run, explore, and nap in equal measure. Oh, and just a heads-up: whoever adopts me better be ready for a road trip to Fort Gibson, OK—because I’m ready to hit the road and start my next adventure! Ready to let me bring some fun, laughs, and a little bit of artistic flair to your life? Adopt me and let’s make some memories together! 🐾✨ Elphaba

Story
I may be named after a goddess, but let’s be real – I’m just here to bless your life with endless cuddles and a few mischievous tricks...but I have no doubt that you’ll be worshipping me in no time! Hi, I'm Inari, and yes, I may share a name with a goddess, but let's just say my journey to divinity has been a bit... wobbly. I spent most of my life indoors—like, never-seen-grass indoors. My days were filled with a lot of confusion, being surrounded by other dogs but with no real idea how to, you know, dog. When my owner was moved to a nursing home, they decided the solution was to just... boot us all outside. And let’s just say, street smarts were not part of my skill set. I had no clue how to survive, and sadly, many of my housemates didn’t make it. But I scraped by, doing my best with what little I knew. Eventually, some kind-hearted people stepped in, reached out to PPFT, and gave me a chance for a new beginning—so here I am, learning how to live my best life with some help and a lot of patience. I wish I could be as confident as my name suggests, but I’m more of a “quiet observer” than a mighty goddess. Sure, I like to imagine myself as all-powerful and fierce—especially when I think about my past and my current, much more shy personality—but truth be told, I’m still figuring things out. You see, I spent most of my life as an indoor dog, but not in the "snuggled up on the couch" way. Nope, I was just there, existing without really being taught much of anything. Now everything feels new and, frankly, kind of scary. I’m a sweet soul, but I’m also super shy. I tend to stay on the sidelines, not sure how to ask for love (let alone accept it). Sometimes, when you come to pet me, I get so overwhelmed I hunker down and... well, occasionally have a little accident. I know, it's not ideal, but I promise I’m doing my best to work through it. If I could press a reset button on my personality, I totally would, but I didn’t grow up with the luxury of knowing how kind people can be, or just how amazing getting attention and love can be. I'm like the dog equivalent of those slow-burn romance books where the characters take forever to realize they're perfect for each other... it’s a two steps forward, one step back kind of situation. As for the couch? Nope, that’s a hard pass for me. Too open, too new, too... people-y. I’m not a chewer either. Honestly, I don’t even know what I would do with toys, but I hear they’re fun, so I’m hoping I’ll figure them out soon. I’ve still got a lot to learn. Right now, I don’t think an apartment would be the best fit for me. There’s just too much to figure out—new places, new people, new rules (ugh, leashes! I honestly don’t know how to deal with them. Are they just for walking? Because they seem like some sort of strange, human-made device designed to keep me from sprinting off into freedom). So yeah, I think an apartment would be overwhelming for me at the moment. Now, even though I’m a Great Pyrenees mix, you don’t have to worry about me barking your ear off. In fact, I hardly ever bark. Maybe it’s because I’m still a little nervous about using my voice, or maybe I just don’t find it all that necessary. I’ll let you know if I change my mind, though. But until then, I’m a quiet, sweet soul, trying to navigate this big new world. I’m around 6 months old, which means I’m still a puppy and hopefully that’ll work in my favor with my new family. Why, you ask? Well, it means that with a bit of patience and some dedicated socialization, I’ll hopefully grow out of this shy, nervous phase and blossom into the brave and loyal companion you’ve been looking for! The good news is, I do well with everyone I meet—dogs, cats, even teenagers. That said, I do need a family that understands I’m not going to immediately jump into everyone’s arms and be the life of the party. I’m more of a slow and steady, "let's be friends over time" kind of dog. Having a confident, outgoing dog buddy could really help me open up and see the world from their perspective. I might not be everyone's best friend right away, but with patience and the right guidance, I promise you’ll get a loyal, loving companion who will appreciate every little bit of love you give. Oh, and here's a fun fact: I weigh around 38lbs right now, so I don’t plan on becoming one of those massive, full-grown polar bear-sized Pyrs. I’m guessing I might top out around 50lbs, which means I’ll be the perfect size for someone who loves the idea of a Pyr/Anatolian mix but without the challenge of having a giant fluffy snowman to navigate around and try to figure out how to transport! So, no worries about squeezing me into a tiny car or wrestling with a big, fluffy bear—I'm a perfectly reasonable size, ready to bring you all the love (and fluff—don’t let my not-so-polar-bear size fool you, I’m still packing plenty of fluff to share). without the size of a small herd. I’m a pretty calm girl, and while some of that is probably because I’m still working on building confidence, I don’t think my energy level is going to change much as I start to open up. I’m not one for constant zoomies—I enjoy playing with the other dogs now and then, but once that’s over, you’ll find me curled up in a cozy spot for a nap. As for fetch... well, I’m afraid I won’t be adding "fetch champion" to my résumé anytime soon. And while I’m sure hiking or hitting the town sounds fun to some dogs, it’s not exactly high on my to-do list either. But here’s the thing: If my new family is looking for a calm, sweet pup and doesn’t mind putting in a little work to help me come out of my shell, I just know I could be the kind of dog they’ll brag about to all their friends. I might take things slow, but once I start to trust, I’ll show them just how wonderful and loyal I can be. I may be a bit of a "project," but I promise it will be totally worth it! So, if you’re ready to welcome a shy but sweet girl into your life and help me find my confidence, I promise I’ll show you just how wonderful it can be when trust and love bloom. I may be a work in progress, but with patience and kindness, I’ll grow into the loyal companion you’ve been searching for. After all, I am named Inari—goddess of fertility, rice, and prosperity. So who knows? Maybe I’ll bring a little good luck, a dash of joy, and an abundance of cuddles into your home. I may not be quite the goddess yet, but with you by my side, I’m sure we’ll make magic happen. But, before we embark on our new journey together, one little thing to keep in mind: I’ll be waiting for you in Hutchinson, KS, so my new family will need to pick me up in person—no transport, please! Story
If you're on the hunt for a pocket-sized Great Pyrenees with markings that are one-of-a-kind, then let me introduce you to Osirius. This guy is a true original, with a coat that's as unique as his personality. He may not fit in your pocket (we wouldn't recommend trying), but you'll certainly want him around with you always! Osirius is a heartthrob in every sense of the word. With a coat that's a stunning swirl of smokey grey, brown tiger stripes, white, and, yes, don’t forget the essential polka dots—he's basically a walking, wagging art piece. If you're into attracting attention, get ready for the fame because this guy will have people stopping you on walks for sure. Sure, he’s the star, but you’ll be basking in the glow of his magnificence by association. 😉 Now, let’s talk about this boy’s early years. Imagine a dog who’s never been on a walk, never seen the outdoors, and, shocker, has never touched grass. Yep, that’s Osirius. His whole world was confined to four walls, and he wasn’t exactly getting the VIP treatment. No doggy school, no field trips, just a life of being "there." Until one day, his owner had to move to a nursing home, and that’s when everything changed. Several dogs with zero street smarts were suddenly unleashed into the wild. Well, let’s just say the situation didn’t exactly go as planned—and sadly, not all of the dogs made it. But, thankfully, some kind souls stepped in to help, and that’s when we got the call. Now, Osirius? He definitely gave everyone a run for their money as the last one to be caught—he was as elusive as a ninja on roller skates. But here’s the good news: he’s finally starting to understand that this new life of his? Pretty darn fantastic. Every day, he's realizing that there’s more to the world than just “existing,” and we can’t wait to see him continue blossoming into the sweet, charming pup we know he’s meant to be. Osirius, like his namesake, is destined for greatness. His name is derived from Osiris, the ancient Egyptian god of the afterlife, resurrection, and regeneration. Osiris was known for bringing life and hope where there seemed to be none, much like how Osirius is starting to blossom and embrace the second chance he's been given. Just as Osiris was a symbol of transformation and new beginnings, Osirius is now learning to leave behind the shadows of his past and step into the light of his new life. Now, while Osirius is more chill and low-key, he’s not all about being a couch potato. He does have his playful moments, especially when he's feeling comfortable and confident. You might catch him zooming around with a burst of energy or showing off his inner puppy during playtime. But once that’s over, he’s back to being your quiet, fluffy shadow. Osirius is a social guy at heart and does great with other dogs. Now, don’t expect him to be a golden retriever who's instantly best friends with everyone he meets. He’s a little more on the cautious side, needing some time to realize that other pups mean him no harm. But don’t let his shy nature fool you—he's no pushover when it comes to other dogs. Early on, he learned to stand his ground, and if another dog gets a little upset with him, he’s not one to back down. Fortunately, he's excellent at reading doggy vibes, so he tends to match their energy, adjusting his behavior accordingly. So, whether it's a calm or playful pup, Osirius knows how to navigate the situation. As for cats (or purrinators as we like to call them), Osirius won’t be trying to foil their plans for world domination anytime soon. He’s totally fine with felines and knows they’re just living their best nine lives. When it comes to kids, Osirius is solid. He’s currently hanging with a teenager in his foster home and is doing just fine. However, since he’s still learning that humans aren’t terrifying creatures, it’s best that any kiddos understand that he might need a little space at first. He’s not quite ready for spontaneous dance parties or cuddle tackle sessions. But with a little patience, he’ll soon be joining in on the fun—and you might just catch him breaking out his own version of the moonwalk. If you’re on the hunt for a dog who will throw himself at the door, greeting every visitor like they’re his long-lost best friend—or a pup who’ll rush up to every stranger on the street like he’s auditioning for Best in Show—well, sorry to say, you’re barking up the wrong tree. Osirius is not that guy. Heck, he won’t even be a fan of you at first. He’ll probably give you a suspicious side-eye and wonder what exactly you plan to do with him. But don’t worry—his trust isn’t something you have to earn for long. It won’t take him long to figure out that you control the food supply and, more importantly, you’re the one who opens the portal to the great outdoors). Once he realizes you're his ticket to adventure and snacks, he’ll warm up to you faster than you can say "treat." And once he’s all in? You better believe Osirius will be the most loyal sidekick around. Your home will forever be covered in his fluffy fur, no matter how many times you sweep. He’ll also make sure you're never alone when it comes to finishing off that last bite of pizza. And when it’s time to relax, his fluffy butt will make sure your lap is never cold, gracing you with his presence whenever he deems it necessary. It’s not so much cuddling as it is his decision to bless you with his warmth. If you had your heart set on a puppy, don’t fret—Osirius is still a puppy! At just about 6 months old, he’s young enough to still soak up all the love, guidance, and training you want to offer. But don’t forget, everything in this big wide world is still brand new to him. And while his indoor life hasn’t exactly come with a crash course in manners, he’s learning the ropes. He’s almost potty trained, but let’s be real—he’s still a pup, so there might be the occasional “whoops” moment. But hey, at least he’s kennel trained, so you won’t be completely doing it all yourself. Now, we know what you’re thinking: “Will he chew up my shoes?” Well, while we’re not going to tell you he’s a perfect little unicorn who will never chew anything (because let's face it, he's a puppy), we can happily report that so far, he hasn’t been a destructive chewer in his home. With a puppy-proofed space, you can breathe a little easier knowing he’s not planning to turn your furniture (or home) into a chew toy. And as for his vocal abilities, while he is part Pyr (hello, barkers), he doesn’t yet have a strong urge to sing the song of his people every time a leaf falls. If another dog gets started, he’ll join in, but he’s not the type to bark at nothing—yet. We can’t promise it will stay that way forever, but as of now, you don’t have to worry about a 3 AM "bark symphony" from Osirius. As for apartment living? Yeah, that’s a no-go for this guy. He may be only 48 pounds right now, but he’s still soaking up the world around him. With everything that comes with apartment life—constant foot traffic, frequent outings, and the challenge of adjusting to daily walks—it's just not his speed at the moment. He’s the kind of pup who needs space to explore and settle into a routine that doesn't come with too many surprises. If you are interested in offering Osirius a forever home, you can apply to adopt him at https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app Once this application is in, it will be sent to his foster family to make sure that the fit is perfect—for both you and Osirius. After all, he’s not just looking for a home; he’s looking for the right humans to start his next chapter with. We want to make sure that everyone’s on the same page and that this is a match made in fluffy heaven. It’s not just about finding a home for Osirius; it’s about making sure that both he and his new family are ready for the adventure ahead. So, take your time, and let’s make sure this is the best decision for everyone involved—especially Osirius, who’s just getting started on his journey to trust and love. Osirius is currently being fostered in Hutchinson, KS, but if you’ve fallen head over heels for this fluffy guy and you’re out of state, how about a road trip? We don’t send our amazing fluffy butts on commercial transports because, let’s face it, they deserve the VIP treatment. Who knows—maybe a scenic drive will give you some quality time to bond before you bring your new best friend home!
