Story
All AHHS animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations before adoption (if species appropriate). Application and counseling is required prior to all adoptions. Individuals interested in adopting a puppy are STRONGLY encouraged to download and read this FREE ebook. Even if you've raised puppies in the past, this is an invaluable resource to help make your new addition successful!   Stella is such a sweet, social dog. She's loves to play, is extremely smart and eager to learn. She is content to play outside all day with other dogs and goats, or to cuddle on the couch for ours. She's protective of her people, fellow animals, and property, but non-agressive. She has been serving as one of our goat guardians since I found her. I don't know how she is with cats (she was non-reactive to them at the vet, however), chickens, or kids; she's sweet and quick to learn, but rough-and-tumble. Since Stella has livestock guardian genes, so she needs to be fed alone; she absolutely WILL wander without a really good fence (she'll climb over without an electric line around the top). She likes to be queen bee and before she was spayed, she picked a few fights with my other pyrinees. But they've now settled into a homeostasis with no issues. If I could afford to keep her, I would. Her personality is so endearing. She's a must-meet-to-appreciate.   This is a Courtesy Listing only.  Postings are provided as a courtesy by AHHS to guardians re-homing their pets. The descriptions and photographs of this animal are provided by the animal’s guardian; the animal has not been evaluated by AHHS and is not an AHHS animal. Adoption processes and fees are at the sole discretion of the pet’s guardian. AHHS makes no claims as to the health or temperament of these pets and cannot be held liable for any outcomes or damages resulting from adoption. August 19, 2024, 4:39 pm

Story
We’re fostering Molly for Animals Lives Matter Of East Texas, an 8 year old female Great Pyrenees. She was completely matted and smelled terrible! 2.5 hours of shaving later, she’s no longer matted, panting and rested easy. Molly has gained weight and strength, and has learned how to use a doggy door. She is vaccinated, crate trained and gets along with everyone and everything (adults, children, dogs, cats, etc.) PM us if you are interested in giving this senior girl a soft landing and loving forever home.

Story
Ava is the sweetest pup to ever live! I rescued her after she was abandoned at the dump with her litter mates (one of which was genetically tested— she’s primarily Great Pyrenees with some Black Lab and Australian Shepherd thrown in) but am going through a divorce and would like a better situation for this lovable girl. She loves people and other dogs and is very cat curious (my cat is uninterested). She loves attention and is still young with a lot of puppy energy. Ava is very smart and has mastered basic commands (sit, lay down, off, kennel up, here), and we’ve been working on her manners (not jumping at greeting, licking) but needs consistency to keep up with her training. Her kennel will be included in her adoption. I would love to find a great home for this loving and active girl!

Story
Hello my name is Bella , most know me by my smile , I am completely house trained and crate trained during winter , in the summer i am an outside protector because i love lazy days of digging and playing in the shade . I have a sister I am currently upset with and continue to fight with over the smallest things but i do not fight with other dogs , like my little brother , I would love to find a home without my sister , my parents have tried for over 5 years to keep us together and they no longer can put up with the fights and unhappy times that seem to come when we r together, without my sister I love to take walks and get pets from my humans , all the kids love me and I love to play with squeeky chicken toys , my mom says she got me from old fort , and I am close to being 6 years olds next April. I need a big yard and lots of space to run and dig holes in , I will keep u safe and I love belly rubs the most , I do snore when i cuddle .

Story
Wyatt the gentle giant, is a very sweet, extremely calm, 4 year old Great Pyrenees mix. He loves to lay around and be lazy. He was raised with 4 children ranging from teen to newborn.  He is very low energy.Wyatt loves going for car rides. He has been around other dogs and cats without issue. He is accustomed to free feeding. He was raised on a raw food diet and bagged food but can transition to either.Wyatt can be contained with any fence at least 4 foot. In his former home he was invisible fence trained. His ideal home is one where he can lay around and enjoy both inside and outside. He would love a home with kids, but he would also be a good dog for those with a more sedintary life, because he's so calm. Wyatt will need semi regular grooming to prevent painful matts. His coat can be maintained with thorough brushing. Wyatt is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. If you are interested in Wyatt, you can apply at mpravl.org! His adoption fee is $200. All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at pets@mpravl.org for more information. Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label. Mountain Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax deductible charity (EIN 82-3039637) located in Asheville, NC. August 19, 2024, 12:35 pm
