Story
We are sadly needing to rehome our wonderful Great Pyrenees. He is around 7 years old and is neutered. We took him in as a stray in 2020 and he has been an indoor dog since then. He is a loveable and gentle giant who is great with kids and other dogs/cats. He has no known health issues outside of a patchy coat that was the result of having been a stray prior to us taking him in. We recently moved houses and he no longer has the room to roam inside or outside that he is used to. We are requesting for a new owner to cover his most recent rabies shot (June 2024) and grooming ($50 total). Please text, call, email if you would like to meet him. We are in downtown Lenoir City but can meet elsewhere if needed.

Story
Almost Home believes that every animal deserves a loving home regardless of appearance, age, or physical limitation.  We have come together to give animals in need the safe and happy life they all deserve.  Almost Home Animal Rescue believes that no animal is expendable.  Adopting a friend:The animals, lucky enough to find refuge with Almost Home, are all in loving foster homes. If you are interested in the possibility of giving one of the animals a new lease on life, please contact us. The contact information is listed at the end of each biography.  What you need to do to adopt:If you would like to adopt a pet in need from Almost Home, basically, an application must be filled out. We will check two personal references and a vet reference. If you are approved for adoption, there is a trial period of about one week to make sure this is the animal for you and you are the person for the animal. Along with the trial period, a contract must be signed that basically states that if ever you cannot keep the animal that you must return the animal to Almost Home. Last but not least, a home check will be done. Meet & Greets:An approved application is required. This does not mean that you have to adopt but that you are approved to do so if everything works out. Since we are foster based, this limits the amount of people coming to our homes.  *Due to rescuer being very ill, all her dogs are in desperate need!!! Greetings! I'm Fluffy! My best friend, Poe, and I were allowed to wander the streets. Our owner just didn't care. I was pregnant at the time. Our rescuer begged for me to be able to come into rescue. So, our owner dumped me and unexpectedly and luckily dumped Poe too! I am a very pretty girl that is about three to four years old. I am mostly fluff and I weigh around eighty pounds. We are the friendliest duo and are exceptionally loving! We adore people and other doggies. We do love children but I can get excitable, so small children may get overwhelmed. We are true buddies. You will always find us hanging out together. We enjoy adventures and would follow you to the ends of the earth. All you have to do is make us yours! Love,Fluffy & Poe *Guest Posting**Discount for two!***Adoption Fee $275 for both If you would like to meet your new best friend, contact the Adoption Coordinator at info@almosthometn.org or 865-236-0830. To fill out an application, go to www.almosthometn.org. If you can't get it to work, tell us and we will email it to you.ADOPTION FEE: The adoption fee for a cat is $85. The adoption fee for a kitten is $100. The adoption fee does include the kittens being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. The adoption fee for a dog is $200. The adoption fee for a puppy is $250. The adoption fee does include the puppies being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. Mature pet adoption fees are sometimes reduced. The adoption fee for pure bred dogs and cats will vary due to health and age of pet. This helps support our ill animals and our mutts that get left in the system longer. We do reserve the right to change the fees higher or lower due to the circumstance of the animal but what was stated above are the usual adoption fees.  Microchipped pets will have a higher adoption fee.  Our adoption fees do not cover the cost of the vetting and care the animal has received with us and if it ever does, the money just goes back it to helping other animals in need. August 17, 2024, 1:54 am

Story
Maggie is 8 years old and is the sweetest dog in the world. All she wants to do is cuddle, and she loves everyone! She was originally a rescue from Young-Williams. She needs a lot of attention, stimulation, and exercise, so she needs a good, active family who will give her the time and attention she needs. She is a hound, so she loves to explore and needs a secure fence. She is amazing with children! She has never once showed an aggressive bone in her body and is gentle with everyone. She also loves other dogs! One of her favorite things to do is to go to the dog park, find the smallest dog she can, and follow them around wagging her tail the whole time. She will love you forever.

Story
This incredibly handsome boy is Glacier. He is a Pyrenees / Aussie mix. Apparently he doesn't like other dogs or cats, and we recommend no young children. And, in accordance to his breed description, he likes to break out and roam free. So, he really needs a home with someone who knows his breed(s) and can work with him. Even with all his "quirks", he is an exceptionally beautiful and a happy boy. Primary Color: White Secondary Color: Blue Merle Weight: 55 Age: 2yrs 8mths 2wks

Story
Sebastian, an 8-month-old Great Pyrenees mix, is currently thriving in foster care, where he's gaining valuable experiences and skills that he wouldn't acquire in a shelter. In this nurturing environment, Sebastian is learning essential life skills such as house training, basic commands, and socialization with both humans and other animals. His foster family provides him with the love, structure, and consistency needed to build his confidence and adapt to a variety of situations. This early training is crucial for his development, preparing him to transition smoothly into a permanent, loving home where he can continue to grow and flourish.
