Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.A  superb and regal Livestock Guardian Dog, Barghest has proved to us that he is able to manage problems without losing his cool, and his natural instincts are evident in his gentle yet decisive demeanor. We feel he was wrongly judged, and deserves the chance to prove himself to a family looking for a protector and an intimidating yet unassuming presence in their lives.  Barghest survived a shooting when it was thought he was chasing cattle, but it was never proved that he did so, and we all feel he was guarding them from predators.  He had opportunity to prey on livestock if he had wanted... but he chose to run away from the human threat instead. Such a remarkable boy!   PLEASE NOTE: This pet has been posted by Friends of Campbell County Animal Control, Rustburg, VA. For questions about the pet, please email us at FOACinfo@gmail.com. All adoptions begin with an application, found under the "Animals" tab on our website, friendsofcampbellcounty.org. *Unaltered babies under the age of six months can be adopted only to residents of Campbell County, the City of Lynchburg, and counties touching Campbell County. *Unaltered adult pets six months or older will need to be sterilized before they can be adopted outside our local area of Campbell County, the City of Lynchburg, or counties touching Campbell. *We do not promote dog adoptions to homes where an invisible fence is the fencing of choice. *We do not permit cats or kittens to be declawed following adoption.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 14, 2025, 9:35 pm

Story
Rayon is a charming mix of sweetness and enthusiasm, a true heart-throb with fur. At just 1.5 years old, he's been around kids, cats, and the great outdoors, but he’s ready to swap his “backyard explorer” title for “inside couch potato” status! Rayon has a knack for spreading joy and a tail that wiggles at the speed of light. He’s super sweet, loves to cuddle, and may just consider stealing your blanket at some point (but it’s totally worth it). If you want a dog who’s both playful and polite, Rayon’s your guy.
