Story
Say hello to Orca! Her love for her family is deep, like the ocean, and this sweet girl promises she won't make too many waves in your household. Orca is a young adult female hound mix who has been with us as our foster for about ten months and has improved so much! She is house-trained, walks well on a leash, and is fully crate-trained. She is a very smart dog - but she does need to be crated if she is left unsupervised for any period of time, or she will make her fun that can result in some things being chewed up. She likes her crate and will go inside to relax or hang out. She loves toys and chewy bones and loves for you to chase her around the yard with a toy, too! She hasn't quite got the idea of fetch yet. Orca says her ideal match will have a canine playmate for her to romp with as she feels more comfortable with another dog in the home, and she loves cats as well! A fenced-in yard is recommended for her in order to experience her "Zoomies" in all their glory. She is shy at first and requires time, patience, and a calm individual to win her over, but she's worth it. She is a "Velcro dog" once you win her over, and you will have a devoted companion who thinks she fits perfectly in your lap on the couch. She loves outside and does best with adults, but she has not really been around children. Interested in adopting Orca? Head over to hsecarolina.org to apply today!

Story
Here's Jensyn! This beautiful girl is sweet, soft, wild, and cuddly, and ready for her forever home!Jensyn loves people, especially people who pet her! If you are putting on your shoes, she will rest her head on your hand to ask for some love. If you sit down anywhere, she will snuggle next to you and soak up all the petting you want. Jensyn LOVES her walks and does well on her leash. She will even grab her leash to let you know it's time to go! She is great with kids, including our 6-year-old daughter and her friends who chase after her, pick her up, dance with her, etc. Jensyn loves to do the "downward dog" pose. Jensyn is housebroken and will stand by the door or paw at the door once or twice to let you know she wants out or in. She does well in her crate, where she spends the night. She is curious about other dogs but intimidated by any bigger than her and either ignores or steers clear of the neighborhood cats. Jensyn rarely barks and instead communicates with her big brown eyes. She likes to jump up to get your attention, and she is a hound so we have found a few holes dug in our yard. Also, she will try to run after any rabbits or squirrels she sees. She is very food-motivated and gets very excited during mealtimes, but she will sit quietly in her crate so that her humans can eat their meals in peace.Jensyn is smart, having learned several basic commands ("sit," "down," "leave it," "crate," etc.). With consistent training, we are sure she will readily learn more. This beautiful, sweet, laid-back, loving pup is ready to be your best friend.
