Story
Jet is a one-of-a-kind dog, a mix of several incredible breeds that come together to make him an unforgettable companion. He has a deep love for his people and thrives on being close to them. His inner beagle makes itself known when he’s vocal about his needs or excitement, while his lab traits show in his “velcro” nature—always wanting to be near his person. Jet’s past of abandonment and mistreatment has made him especially attached to those he loves. Because of this, he’ll need an adoptive family where someone is home often to help him feel secure. He can be sensitive to shouting or harsh corrections, as this tends to cause him to shut down. However, with the right positive reinforcement, Jet flourishes and builds confidence. If there’s another dog in the home, slow and careful introductions are key. While Jet tends to prefer being the dominant one and can get a little jealous when his foster sister gets attention, having another calm dog around has shown him how wonderful it is to be part of a family pack. He does well with other low-energy dogs, and their presence has been a positive influence on him. Jet is an active senior who enjoys his daily walks—sometimes several times a day! He’s an adventurous soul and will thrive in a home with an active family who enjoys getting outside. He’s food-motivated, but due to his sensitive stomach, he does best on a specific prescription diet, which helps him manage his GI issues. This sweet senior deserves a loving home where he can continue to experience the joy and comfort he so deserves in this next chapter of his life. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate, and active companion, Jet could be the perfect fit for your family.
