Story
COURTESY POST:  Nelli  Approx 3-4years old / 40-45lbs Nelli is a possible Harrier Hound that was rescued from a well pad, where the landowner said he was going to shoot her if she was not gone by hunting season.  She is a very sweet & loving girl who used to be nervous of any new person, but has come out of her shell a lot and loves everyone she meets.  Nelli currently lives with the two people that rescued her from being shot, but she needs a loving home where she can be the center of attention as this couple has 6 other animals of their own and we’re not planning to have any more.  Nelli gets along with the other dogs in the home, but not the cats as she has a high prey drive. Nelli is not much for playing, but she is learning how to every day. Her favorite thing to do it’ll follow her hound nose! All day every day. So she would do best in a home with a fenced in yard. Nelli does not jump, and is house trained. She has not been around children since being in this home but the couple believes she would do just fine as she is a very sweet and calm girl.  Short stats on Nelli: Possible Harrier hound Maybe 3-4 years old Approx. 40-45lbs YES dogs, with proper introduction.  NO cats Fenced in yard best for her hound nose  Will be spayed and vaccinated before adoption or during trial!August 12, 2024, 12:18 am

Story
Chase is the living embodiment of a loving senior dog. Chase is an 11 1/2 year-old (DOB 1-18-13) male beagle that weighs 27 pounds. Chase was surrendered by his owner because of a change in living situation. Chase has lived with one owner his entire life. He may be older but he is a very spunky and friendly fellow. He does not act his age at all. He was definitely loved and is now looking for an equally loving home. Chase enjoys all activity outside and playing with toys. He walks like a champ and enjoys car rides with the windows open. Chase is a barker so no apartments for him. He is wonderful with children. He has been dog-friendly. As always, a meet and greet with any resident canine must be done to make sure everyone gets along. Chase has never been around cats. He is looking for a retirement home with a nice yard to meander in and a soft bed or couch. We guarantee he will become your best friend forever. Chase is the reason people should adopt more senior dogs. Chase is available for our foster to adopt program which means you can foster him in your home until he finishes vetting which includes vaccines, heartworm testing, and microchip. Chase is already neutered. Please email dogadoptions@parmashelter.org and fill out an adoption application online to meet Chase. Chase's adoption fee is $85.          Like Parma Animal Shelter on FACEBOOK and help pass the word about our adoptable guests!  Don't forget to share pictures with your friends!  Submit an application to adopt on our website parmashelter.org           August 19, 2024, 4:41 pm
