Story
Took in this dog after master died. Thought I could manage him but I’m 90 years old, live on 7th floor of apartment, and find he’s more than I can handle. He’s a wonderful, funny, cute little guy. He needs to live in a home with a back yard, other dogs and kids to play with. He is recently groomed, full checkup and up-to-date shots. Even comes with, food, bed, etc. He will made a wonderful companion for some family.

Please contact Constance (connibouchard@gmail.com) for more information about this pet.Rescued DogBiography Important Information Please read! If you are interested in me after reading about me, please visit my site, http://www.breederadoptions.org and follow the instructions. The majority of the dogs we rescue, mostly breeder dogs, have lived their entire lives in less-than-ideal conditions so will need to be socialized, house and leash trained. Most have never lived in a house, walked on a leash, had a treat or sat in a lap. For many of them, their feet have never touched the ground after living for years on wire until they arrive at our main facility where they are evaluated, groomed and given vet care. Most of these dogs are not socialized and need to be cornered to be picked up, so are not suitable for people with physical disabilities or suffer from PTSD. They need folks who will make them the center of their world and help them learn to trust before even attempting to train.  Please do not apply if you do not meet the requirements of the dogs we rescue.  However, they will learn with time, love, patience and most of all, commitment. You must have an ample supply of all of these to reap the rewards of watching these very special dogs become your wonderful companion. We state any known health issues, all are altered unless there is a medical reason not to, which we will advise, any known medical issues addressed, are microchipped, are UTD on all vaccines and have been checked out by at least one veterinarian, usually two. We do not guarantee the health of any of our rescued dogs. The dogs we rescue have lived with other dogs all of their lives and most get along with other dogs. We state if they are dog aggressive. We require a permanent, full-time parent. That means you must be able to spend the majority of your time with your new companion to socialize and train. We do not, under any circumstances, place them in homes with young children as they have not been exposed to children and we do not know how they will react. Please do not waste your time or ours if you are not prepared to adopt within 2 weeks and you are not willing to pick the dog up at its location. Hi! My name is Jinx, and I am a little Havanese boy who was born 1/18/24 and I weigh 9 pounds. I am still a little scared of this big new world so a sibling to help me learn would be ideal. If you have been waiting for a young Havanese, please ask for me on your application to http://www.breederadoptions.org. Love, Jinx 072024-42  August 18, 2024, 7:09 pm

Story
Leo is a 2-3 year old handome Havanese (total guess).  He is about 12lbs and low-nonshedding.  When he came in to rescue he was matted, dirty, and terrified.  He had been living on the streets in South Texas.  Once he was groomed and all cleaned up we could see how truly beautiful he is.  Leo has come a long way but he is still a scared little man.  It took him about 10 days to settle in with his foster mom.  At first he would watch from a distance, always just a few feet away from her but didn't wamt to get any closer.  He now sleeps in bed with her, plays with toys, and seeks out affection.  His forever humans will need to have the same patience and know he will warm up with time, but they need to give him that time.  Hopefully over time as he experiences the good in the world he will continue to grow and expand his world and comfort zone.  We are going to require that Leo go to a home with another dog because he is learning so much from the fosters other dogs.  He gets along well with other dogs, cats, and pretty much any animals.  He is a sweet boy who just had a super rough start to life and needs someone to show him all life has to offer. If you are interested in adopting Leo, please fill out our adoption application at brighterdaysdogrescue.com ##2007100##
