Story
Somebody get me out of this old age home! That’s what Boomer is saying about his stay here at Four-Legged Forgotten Oldies. Boomer is a very healthy, playful, and active 10-year-old Havanese/Terrier mix. While the other dogs who live here are happy to nap the day away, Boomer loves to run and go for long walks. He really needs to find a great new home who can give him the time and exercise he would like. Boomer came to us after he was surrendered by his owner to the shelter. His owner said he didn’t like children, so adults-only homes please. During Boomer’s behavior test at the shelter, he showed signs of resource guarding for food and toys. We have seen some evidence of that when he is around the other dogs. We are hoping to find the ideal home for Boomer. We learned that his previous owner was physically and verbally abusive to him. As a result, Boomer can be fearful at times. If he thinks he’s going to be scolded, he retreats to the sofa or a corner and will growl and become defensive. He needs a new home that will be patient and loving with him, as well as knowledgeable on how to deal with his behaviors. Boomer is smart. He knows how to sit, stay, and come, and also gives kisses on command. He really wants to be a loving, trusting dog. He has come a long way since he arrived here last month. Are you the new person he is looking for to give him his happy, forever after? FLFO requires a home visit therefore adopters must be within 40 miles of Baldwin MD.

Story
Hello, my name is: JimmiesDOB: 03/15/2023Sex/Breed: Neutered male HavaneseWeight: 8.3 lbsFriends: Dogs and cats (kids unknown)Traits: Shy, loving, energetic, devoted Rescued From: Breeding kennelDespite being scared, Jimmies has been nothing but sweet since he arrived at his foster home. He very much wants to be loved, but isn't sure humans are trustworthy yet. He is reserved when it comes to his foster parents, but is very bouncy and playful when he is with his canine foster friends. Because of the confidence and comfort he finds in other dogs, we will be looking for a home with another small dog for him. He bonds very quickly with his furry friends and does everything they do. He even tries to play! Jimmies is working on his training, but seems to be treat motivated. Once he gains some confidence, we think he'll be a quick study. Right now, he is afraid of a leash, so a home with a securely fenced area would be ideal for his training. He needs a family who is up to helping him become the confident, loyal companion he is destined to be! Please help us find Jimmies the forever home he so desperately deserves!Help us continue to step up for dogs like Jimmies and consider donating towards their medical care: https://secure.givelively.org/donate/all-4-paws-rescueAll our dogs are microchipped, spayed/neutered, and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives.Interested in adopting?
