Adonis is a two year old red Persian looking for a forever home that has experience with the health and coat maintenance required by his breed. Originally surrendered to rescue by a breeder getting out of the business, Adonis has been vaccinated, neutered, combo tested, microchipped and wormed. He has truly blossomed and, once settled in his environment, is cuddly, affectionate and loves scratches (especially behind the ears). Persians are a brachycephalic breed and are simply unable to physically maintain their thick coats on their own and will require routine grooming, including hygiene trims. Adonis has a particularly short face; while he did not have any complications during anesthesia, he has been diagnosed with asthma. Asthma can be well-managed with medication and reduced triggers in the home. Adonis is currently on oral medication, with a long-term goal to switch him to an inhaled medication. Adonis has shown some selectiveness with other cats; he enjoys the company of some felines, and seems to prefer younger males. Priority will be given to applicants with documented history of the breed that can provide both grooming and veterinary references. Adonis' adoption fee is $250.
