Story
Why HELLO! My name is Athena. I'm a Siberian Husky that is fully vetted, spayed, and about 5 years old. I don't act like it though. I LOVE my Rocky (squirrel) and Bullwinkle (moose) stuffies. I will occasionally chase sticks or balls, no guarantee that I'll bring them back though! If you catch me in the right mood, I WILL play fetch! I keep myself busy indoors with hard chewing toys and bones. I play well with other dogs. I love to run and play with them! I have a big kiddy swimming pool at my foster home, and I love to go in it. I don't know if I like swimming yet, but I am not afraid of water! If I'm in a group of dogs, and some dogs get aggressive, I'll hang back until they're happy again. I don't want to fight, I just want to play! If you're worried that I might want to play all the time-don't worry, I'm a huge couch potato too! What's your favorite show or movie to watch? Let's order in some gourmet dog food and watch it together! I love my foster girl and get super excited when she comes home from work. I get really excited and won't let her have a moment to put down her bookbag until I'm done saying welcome home! I do howl and bark, but I use my voice only when I have to. I'm not food aggressive, but I don't have a problem trying to sneak some food from one of my dog or cat foster siblings. Speaking of cats, I'm decent WITH AND WITHOUT supervision around my foster cat siblings. I'll snuggle with my blind cat foster sister before I go to bed every night. I like to lick her head to say hello in the morning. I would still appreciate a cat free home, as every now and again I still get swiped by a paw, from my other cat foster sister, when I get too curious. Need someone to lay on bed with you at night? I'm your gal! I lay really nice until you're ready to get up.... although if you're a lazy bone for too long....I might have to make you get up with my kisses and jumping on and off the bed. Once I'm settled for the night I'm going to stay where I am. I LOVE LOVE LOVE kids!!!! My foster girl babysits sometimes, and the first time I met a brother and sister, I followed them around everywhere and became protective of them when some guy calling himself their dad, came to pick them up. I didn't growl or snarl or anything, I just kept nudging the kids away from him. I walk AMAZING on the trails and on a leash. My foster girl has a skijour harness for me from previous huskies she has owned, and even though I don't like putting it on, I really like it for our walks. I do NOT chase other walkers, runners, or those on a bicycle. When on walks, if I see another dog, I will pull until I'm close enough to say hi to them. I am not aggressive with anyone I've met on a walk. I am very cautious and a little afraid of men. There was a mean man in my past, who wasn't very nice to me. He screwed it up for all the nice guys out there! With time, patience, and consistency, I could warm up to a man. I have no issues with male children under 14 that have been observed. Larger groups of mixed company, inside of a structure, make me a bit nervous. In these situations, I need someone who I can trust to be with me. If I'm in a large group of people outside, I'm not so nervous.

Story
Meet Laurel-she is a spayed 7mo old husky mix. Good with other dogs. How can you resist those ears? Here is what her foster mom has to say about herLaurel is ready to charm her way into your heart and home. She is a social butterfly who loves nothing more than playing with other dogs and people. Laurel is smart and treat-motivated. We are working on redirecting and controlling those puppy behaviors which is hard when there is so much fun to be had. At the end of each day, Laurel loves belly rubs and snuggles.
