Trust me when I tell you that she is! She just looks more like the boxer in her...like a tiny boxer! Thelma is really a sweet girl once she gets to know you. Earning her trust has been such a satisfying experience and so worth any time that it has taken. She is 3 years old and weighs around 18 pounds. She is a stocky little firecracker, which is one of her best traits but can also get her into trouble with some pups. She can be a bit of a bully to other females so she would do best with a male pup in the home or as an only dog to a human who is home much of the time. She arrived with her sister, Louise, and we thought they were bonded. But now that some time has passed, we realize that though they love each other, they do not rely on each other. Thelma is a quick learner and has done well with initial leash training. She will need to be adopted in the So Cal area and must have a secure backyard. I met Sydney at a Oktoberfest in Victorville where she was being adopted out by the animal control there. They named her Irene but I didn't care for that name. However, her official government name is Irene. 😂 She is a very jovial, high energy, happy young dog 8 mos. She loves and I do mean loves children so I think she would be excellent for someone with the family. I am single and elderly but she's done quite well with just me. It is really important to me that I find the right family for her. That is why I'm not charging anything. I have to have surgery on both of my knees and I won't be unable to really give her the attention she needs for at least a year. Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you about the TV thing. She loves to watch Court TV... I guess she got that from me. If you exercise, bike ride, or just long walks that would be an added value for both you and her. This is one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make.

Poki is a 11-year old Jack Russell-Pointer mix. He’s tough to get him to trust, but once he does, he’s the most loyal dog you can have. He’s very smart (a little too smart sometimes) and is house trained. That said, he’ll need consistent rules and a loving owner to keep his behavior good. I adopted him from a shelter when he was four, and at the time he was a highly anxious dog from an abusive household. He has since improved a lot and just needs someone to love and care for him. Though I indicated that he’s not good with kids, I would say that he’s been generally fine with kids as long as kids do not to rush him. He’s a shy dog and needs time to warm up to people before he will cuddle with you. He’s also a very good watchdog, and if someone is at the door, he’ll let you know before likely before you’re aware.
