Meet Mookey!
Mookey is a sweet but very nervous pup looking for a patient, understanding owner. He thrives in a quiet, stable environment and is best suited for a single-person household. Once he bonds, he will be your shadow—always by your side, snuggling up, and following you everywhere (yes, even the bathroom!). He was rescued from a high kill shelter who told us he was abandoned there in a bag. Mookey has been through a lot, and would be best suited in a home that can give him time and patience to open up.
More from his foster:
- Housebroken with access to potty pads (prefers to poop indoors, especially at night).
- Crate-trained and sleeps in his crate overnight with a small treat.
- Quiet & well-mannered. Doesn’t bark when others do.
- Not destructive when left home alone, but keep pads down.
- Best for apartments. Prefers indoor life and feels safest at home.
- Nervous outside. He hates night walks, finds public places overwhelming, and is always on edge outside.
- Not social with strangers or large groups. Family gatherings will overwhelm him, and he may nibble if uncomfortable.
- One-person dog. He will take time to bond, but once he does, he will be extremely loyal and affectionate.
Additional Considerations:
- Needs slow introductions to new situations and people.
- Will play-nibble when excited or anxious. Avoid waving fingers in his face.
- Feels Safe in vehicles. Quiet and calm during rides.
- Prefers having a potty pad on a patio or being taken outside with supervision.
- Needs guidance to use a doggie door but will adapt over time.
