Meet Otto Von Winkle: The Sweetest Shadow Seeking Love!
Otto Von Winkle is a brave little soul who has recently embarked on a new chapter of his life after spending far too long in a puppy mill. Now free from the stress of his previous environment, Otto is discovering the joys of being a dog, and he can’t wait to find his forever home!
This adorable boy is 22lbs, a short jack russell terrier. We aren’t certain of his age but believe him to be between 3 to 5 years old. He’s an attention-seeker who loves to follow his foster family everywhere, even to the bathroom! When you return you’ll be greeted by a tail wagging like a propeller, as if he hasn’t seen you in ages. Otto is learning to embrace love and affection, though he’s still a bit shy when it comes to being touched. He’s making remarkable progress, especially when he sees his foster dog sibling receiving pets and cuddles. While toys are still a bit of a mystery to him, he loves to watch his foster dog play fetch and is starting to get curious about joining in on the fun.
Otto is incredibly intelligent and adapts to routines with ease. Within just a few hours, he mastered the doggie door, which has quickly become one of his favorite things! He’s had a few accidents in the house, but with the newfound freedom to go outside whenever he wants, he has quickly learned where to do his business. Otto does best not crated since it reminds him of his life beforehand, causing him anxiety. The good news? He’s well-behaved when left free in the house and doesn’t chew on anything!
Since the world outside the puppy mill is still new and a bit uncertain for Otto, he requires a home with another dog to help guide him as he continues to learn and grow and a secured fenced in yard since he is considered a flight risk. He hasn’t been around younger children yet but should be fine in a home with dog experienced older children.
With his sweet and loving personality, Otto is ready to share his heart with a family who will shower him with the affection he deserves. Adoption donation required. This covers altering, DAP series vaccinations to date of adoption, Bordetella Vaccination, Rabies vaccination if over four months, Microchip, Deworming, heartworm test (if over 8 months), monthly flea/heartworm prevention to date, grooming, full veterinary examination, and temperament evaluation.
All SOAR dogs go through a ten-day quarantine period to ensure they are healthy, before being adopted. We do not operate on a first come first serve basis, but screen applicants in order to find the best fit for our adoptable dogs.
