Story
Lazarus is an adorable 11-year old male Jack Russell Terrier mix who was surrendered by his tearful owner on August 7, 2024 along with his companions (Halligan & Pierce La'France) through no fault of their own due to an unexpected housing issue. Lazarus has a white short smooth coat with a patch of brown on both his left- and right sides and at the base of his long tail. Lazarus has the cutest white/brown face with dark brown eyes, a dark chocolate nose on his tiny slender muzzle, and rather large semi-erect ears. This little guy has the nicest 'smile'. This little sweetheart has a super good temperament. He is very good with children and also with other dogs. Lazarus has never been around cats, so we're not sure how he would react to kitty friends. Lazarus is a great 'lap dog', and he loves to lay on your lap and soak up the lovings. True to his Jack Russell heritage, he is also a ball of energy. Lazarus has been kept indoors and was housebroken. Lazarus was a happy little guy when HSOV Kennel Tech Cadince Bibbee accompanied him for first photos soon after his arrival on August 7, 2024, and he adored the attention which Cadince bestowed upon him. Lazarus weighs 21,6 lbs and walks fairly well on a leash Lazarus has already been neutered, so he could leave the shelter with his new family immediately with an approved HSOV adoption application.

Buddy appears to be a Jack Russell Terrier/other terrier mix. He is around 1 year of age and weighs 24 pounds. He was found under a bridge in one of the local dumping areas. It is no surprise that Buddy was scared when we first got him, but he quickly warmed up. He loves getting attention from his people. He loves pets and being close to his humans. He loves belly rubs and will roll over on his back whenever you bend over to pick him up. Buddy is small but mighty. He is muscular and high-energy and requires exercise. He loves to run and wrestle with other dogs. Sometimes, he can be naughty and will intimidate one of our more submissive dogs. Yet he backs down when one of the chihuahuas or another dog puts him in his place. Buddy is generally a good boy, and training is a work in progress. He listens well and comes when called. He is crate-trained and fairly well-behaved in the house. We are working on teaching him manners. He gets jumpy when he wants attention and more training is needed. He responds well to "no" and the "tsch" correction (as used by Cesar Milan). It would be best if applicants have dog experience and are willing to hire a trainer if necessary. Buddy would love his new family to play with him, take him on walks, cuddle, and give him a lot of affection and belly rubs. Buddy must be an inside dog and a loved member of the family. He must be walked on a leash and have a secure, fenced yard to run and play. Buddy is neutered, tattooed, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. He is heartworm-negative and receives monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Buddy is ready to change his zip code. He is located in Texas but can be transported after he is adopted. Buddy's adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport by a reputable and trusted transport company to several scheduled stops in Ohio - including but not limited to - Columbus, Cincinnati, and Akron OH.
