We believe these little friends are a Jack Russell_Daschund mix. An accidental litter, they were surrendered to SimcoeDHumane to help find them good homes. They have been vaccinated to date(will need boosters), flea and Heart worm prevention on board, dewormed, microchipped, neutered and they are very ready to find a home to call their own.A Jack Russell Terrier and Dachshund mix is commonly known as Jackshund or Jackweenie. They are a mixed breed of two pure breed dogs – the Jack Russell Terrier and the Dachshund. Jackshunds are usually medium in size with a huge personality. They are active, lovable, and affectionate companion dogs who thrive in family settings. Jackshunds like to play and have lots of energy, which makes them great family pets with children.

Story
Hello! My name is Beau!I`ve been patiently waiting for a new home since February 2024 - that`s right, 2024! I`ve been in the shelter for over one year now. I`ve had a short-term foster break from the shelter and learned a lot about myself through that experience - while I am an energetic and excitable dude, I am actually pretty chill in the home - after a nice sniffy walk and some play with toys indoors! Being a Jack Russell Terrier, I come with springs in my feet and like to jump up, but I’m so smart and sit easily when asked. I don’t enjoy other dogs and tend to bark when I see them, but am making great progress with training! I am looking for a home that has an interest in doing fun training with me, taking me for long walks, playing with me and then snuggling up at the end of the day.MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES…CHILDREN: No young children. Teenagers may be ok.OTHER DOGS: No, I do not enjoy the company of other dogs.CATS: No, given my high prey drive.FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS: No, I would do best with someone who has previous dog experience.FENCED-IN YARD: Required.HOUSING ENVIRONMENT: Any with yard.SOMEONE HOME MOST OF THE DAY: Not necessarily.SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME…ACTIVITY LEVEL: High.HOUSE-TRAINED: Almost! With a consistent routine and frequent outings, I will be on track in no time!If you think I could be a good match for your home, click the `adopt me` button to apply!FOSTER ME! I’m excited to be selected as part of the Paisley Project and I’m looking for a foster home! If your home environment matches what I’m looking for based on the information above, please consider applying to foster me by copying and pasting the following link to fill out the questionnaire: https://guelphhumane.ca/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?action=frm_forms_preview&form=7y88o.The Paisley Project aims to match selected, long-stay animals at GHS with fosters that can provide a home that gradually introduces them to the everyday experiences of life as a pet. Fosters will offer the routine, structure and stability needed to help get animals ready for their new family. Learn more at https://guelphhumane.ca/the-paisley-project/.
