Dude is currently fostered in Niagara Falls. Apply to adopt at rebeldogrescue.com*All adoptions with Rebel Dog Rescue have a 15 day probation period. Read about our adoption process on our website. Dude is an energetic and playful young Jack Russell Terrier mix whos ready to find a patient and loving forever home. He is a great medium sized dog, and has a curious personality and plenty of energy. Dude was part of an unplanned litter, born in March of 2023. The woman had trouble rehoming all 11 puppies, and reached out to one of our partners to surrender. Dude has not received much socialization or training, if any at all. When he first joined his foster ranch, he would bark and growl to try and scare people off (he has never attempted to bite). Despite this, he was always curious. After a few days of settling in, his fear reactivity subsided. You can tell that he really wants to be a part of the family, but isn't quite sure where to start. He may start off a bit skittish and shy, but Dude warms up quickly with time and patience, especially when hes given the chance to build confidence - and if treats are involved! Hes making great progress with leash training and crate training, although he can be nervous initially and takes some coaxing. Dude loves to play and will play with you for as long as you'll let him! Hes been good with dogs of similar size in his foster home, but due to lack of socialization he can be unsure, therefore proper introductions are important. Hes still working on house training and building confidence, but with consistent guidance, training and a loving environment, he has great potential to become a well-mannered and confident companion.Dude would thrive in a detached home, and outside of a bustling city environment. His ideal family will have the patience to help him grow into his best self while giving him plenty of love and structure. If youre ready to embrace this high-energy, curious, and lovable pup, Dude is excited to meet you!Name: DudeBreed: Jack Russell Terrier mix (vetting also says heeler)Age: ~9 months - born March 11, 2024Weight: ~35lbSex: Male, neutered prior to adoptionColour: White and brownMedical: No concernsGood with men: Yes, takes time to warm upGood with women: Yes, takes time to warm upGood with kids 0-6: Unknown, no exposure - would say no due to fear-reactivity Good with kids 6+: Unknown, no exposure - would say kids with dog experience over age 12 would be best Good with dogs: Yes, but due to limited socialization with dogs outside of his pack growing up, he needs slow introductions Good with cats: Unknown, no exposureHouse trained: Working on it Crate trained: Yes, settles after some initial barking/whiningResource guarding: None seen Walks on a leash: Working on it, he is nervous and needs coaxing Energy level: HighRequires detached/single home: YesSeparation anxiety: None notedBarker: Average (may bark more at first due to fear)

Story
JET is currently being fostered in TEXAS. Jet is a jack Russel terrier mix apx 6-8 months old and 12 pounds. He loves other animals but is very weary of humans. Jet is not aggressive and doesn't bites but he still runs from us and does not want to be picked up or held. He is a work in progress and we prefer he goes to a foster or adopter with rescue experience. Jet is happy to us and he plays with toys, loves dogs, dances around the yard but does not crave human contact. He is young, and he blossoms more and more every single day. He needs time, patience, routine and a lot of love. Jet was rescued from a high kill shelter. He was cowering in a corner, shaking, eyes wide, stiff and covered in his own feces and urine. He was absolutely terrified. We knew we had to give him a chance. Everyday he does a bit better. Jet will need a fenced yard. He will need to stay on leash and harness for a few weeks until he learns the new routine of his home. He is very smart and catches on quickly. Jet will be about 20- 25 pounds fully grown. Approved adopters please send your hold requests to the email you were given. To get approved please visit our website www.texaschihuahuarescuecanada.org to fill in an application to adopt.

Story
WISHBONE is currently being fostered in LONDON, ONTARIO Let me introduce you to Wishbone! He is approx. 3 yrs and 18.3 lbs. He is a sweet, cuddly and loveable Jack Russell mix who loves sleeping next to people. He was a Canadian owner surrender. It is essential to research the Jack Russel terrier breed to make yourself familiar with their traits and typical behavior. He had a complicated neuter due to undecended testicle and a hernia and cherry eye surgery. Wishbone also had an ear infection in both ears. It was treated during the surgery. He has recovered wonderfully without any issues. Wishbone will sometimes bark when he hears unknown noises, and he will let you know when someone is at the door, or if he needs something. He is not a destructive chewer. He will chew his own toys, but he will destroy softer toys very quickly. His energy level varies and can depend on home environment. If his forever home has too many things going on, it would stimulate him causing him to be more hyper. However, if the home is quiet, he will be a quiet dog and choose to sleep most of the day. Currently, he stays in a crate while his foster is at work. However, prefers to sleep with his human in bed all night. He is good with other dogs, but has NOT been tested with small dogs. He is currently living with a 55 lbs dog and gets along very well. He would do best with a dog his size or bigger OR as an only dog. Wishbone will chase cats, so NO cats in the home please. He has NOT been tested with kids. Well mannered and dog savvy children over 15 yrs is recommended. Wishbone does require calming meds when going to the veterinarian. He has some anxiety with vet visits and requires these meds to allow the vets to handle him. It is also best for nail trims to be done at the vet. Wishbone does not like being picked up and needs to be approached slowly. He may nip under certain circumstances, but it is very preventable as long as he can see your hands approaching. For example, touching his body without warning while he is sleeping may startle him.

Story
Currently in Vancouver!!! Meet Macy, a delightful 5-year-old spayed female terrier mix with an adorable brown and white coat, weighing in at 6.5kg. She’s the perfect combination of charm and tranquility, and her personality is sure to steal your heart. Macy might be a bit shy at first, but offer her a treat, and she’ll warm up in no time—letting you pet her and even showing her belly! While she’s not a fan of sudden movements or loud noises from children under 13, she’s otherwise gentle and approachable. She’s even comfortable being picked up when cradled properly. When it comes to other dogs, Macy is polite and curious, happily greeting them but preferring to stick to herself rather than joining in on rough-and-tumble play. She’s more at ease with dogs her size or smaller and tends to shy away from big or overly energetic ones. Even when provoked, Macy is the peacekeeper, quietly stepping away and showing little interest in canine drama. On walks, her focus is fully on her human, even when cats cross her path! Macy has a wonderfully low energy level and loves nothing more than relaxing at home. She’s a dream on walks, never pulling on the leash and happily matching her pace to yours. She’s quiet as a mouse, doesn’t guard her food, and is perfectly comfortable in a crate. While car rides can be a bit daunting for her, she’ll do fine if carried into the vehicle. Plus, she’s 100% potty trained for outdoor living—no mess, no stress! Macy’s foster journey has been incredible. Having started as a timid soul, she’s spent six months with a trainer and has made tremendous strides in overcoming her fears of people. Now, she confidently shows her belly to strangers and enjoys affection from those around her. She knows basic commands like “come,” “sit,” and “paw,” and while she’s calm at home, she’s always ready for a cuddle or a stroll with her favorite humans. Maxy is great with grooming too—nail trimming, bathing, and even teeth brushing are no problem! If you’re looking for a mellow, sweet companion who’s ready to love and be loved, Macy might just be the perfect match for you! View more photos and videos on Facebook (Link to Post) or Instagram (Link to Post) Does Macy sound like the right companion for you? Send in your application today here or through our website:adoptmekoreanrescue.org/adoption-application/ AKR dogs can arrive at Vancouver or Toronto airport and may be able to arrive at some US airports (Seattle, LA, NY, Boston, etc) where we have flight volunteers. Story
Mila is a 2 year old terrier/hound mix (likely JRT & Beagle) weighing approx 27 lbs. She loves her humans very much and is very playful and affectionate with them. Mila did not start her life off in a bad way but she did miss out on training, boundaries and socialization. For this reason, Mila has spent time with a professional trainer who has fallen in love with her. Unfortunately, there are limits to the number of dogs a person can have! She loves the outdoors and play time! She’s a very active girl and would do great with a dominant larger dog, she can be too rambunctious for a small dog. Mila is an excellent girl at home when you have to go out, just make sure you have the perfect window for her to neighborhood watch from! She is obviously a high energy girl but likes nothing more than to be tucked in beside her person on the couch!! She gives great hugs and kisses!! Mila will require an experienced owner and home without children under the age of 7. She loves kids but is still learning boundaries. Her adopter will be able to take advantage of some professional advise from her trainer in order to keep Mila improving. Training consistency will be key to keeping Mila on track with her progression. Mila is currently being fostered in Newmarket, ON. If you are interested in adopting Mila, please complete an application on our website: https://www.jrnc.org/adoption-application
