Story
Hey there, yes, you! Are you looking for a sweet, playful man in your life? Well look no further because here I am. My name is Comet and I am just over a year old. I weigh around 45 pounds, I am potty and crate trained, however I do prefer to be with my people and I know how to use a doggie door. I love to run and play, be outside and chew on my nyla bones. I get along well with other playful dogs and would love to have a playmate around my own size. I do love all people but I would do better in a home with older children as the little ones don't seem to want to play with the same enthusiasm as I do. I enjoy long walks, meeting new people and I absolutely adore car rides. If you are looking for a playmate, walking mate or just a soul mate, then I am your dude! Let's set up a lunch date! **Because we require home visits, we only adopt locally to the Dallas/Fort Worth area. For more on adoption policies, please see the How it Works page of our website, www.habitat4paws.org.

Story
Sasha is a 1-year-old, 30-pound Jack Russell & Beagle mix. She is a very affectionate girl and loves to be picked up (though not everybody can pick up a 30-pound dog!) and held. If you sit down with her, she’ll settle happily so long as she can reach your face to give you occasional kisses. She’s a Velcro dog with her owner—wherever you are, there she’ll be. Sasha is young enough to radiate the joy of a puppy but old enough to have her manners intact. She is house-trained and crate-trained. She rides well in a car; just open the door, and she’ll hop right in. She is not particularly barky and not destructive. She gets along well with other dogs. Sasha loves to run around and play chase with her toys. Soft stuffed toys are her favorites. The special ones she will carry around until she falls asleep. She loves to have something in her mouth, which is bad news for your socks if you happen to leave them on the floor. (She won’t destroy them; she’ll just leave them soggy.) She likes to play fetch-ish. Ish because she only brings the ball back if she feels like it. Her very favorite thing to do is run zoomies around the yard with a toy in her mouth while you chase her. She also loves to go on walks. Sasha sleeps in an open crate in her foster home but would love to sleep on the bed. Whenever she’s allowed in the bedroom, she jumps right up and makes a very funny talking/grumbly noise to indicate her excitement. Did we mention tummy rubs? Sasha is always at the ready for a tummy rub should an opportunity present itself! Sasha is a happy and loving girl who would do equally well with a single, couple or family. Sasha’s adoption fee is $275 and includes spay, all puppy shots & microchip. She is heartworm-negative and on heartworm medication. Note: We always respond first to inquiries that tell us something about your living situation (house, apartment, single, family, etc.) and why you want this dog. Be sure to include your phone number in your inquiry. We call inquiries that seem to be a good fit for the dog.

Story
Meet Clarissa: The Superdog with a Heart of Gold! Say hello to Clarissa, our five-year-old Jack Russell Terrier mix who's all set to bring a burst of joy and love into your home! This pint-sized bundle of love weighs in at a sturdy 35 pounds and is every bit the sweetheart you've been looking for. Clarissa's story is one of resilience and charm. Adopted as a puppy and having done fantastic in her first home, she recently found herself back with us. But let us tell you, this gem of a dog has only gotten better with age. Currently boarding and charming everyone she meets, Clarissa gets along fabulously with dogs her size and larger. While she's not the biggest fan of smaller breeds, she's the life of the party among her similarly sized friends. Part of our prestigious Superdog Program, Clarissa is excelling in her K9 Good Citizen training. She's playful, energetic, and friendly, making her the perfect companion for any family. With great leash manners and a love for walks, she's ready to trot alongside you on all your adventures. Clarissa is looking for a forever home or a loving foster. She's a fantastic match for kids and is sure to bring a lot of joy and laughter to your household. As for cats, we're not quite sure, so a cat-free home might be best. If you're looking for a well-behaved, dog-friendly (with dogs her size or larger) companion who's ready to fill your days with love and fun, Clarissa is your girl. Don't miss the chance to add this delightful Superdog to your family. Adopt or foster Clarissa today and let the good times roll! All Dallas Dog adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. You can complete an application or view all the adoptable pets on our website at www.dallasdog.org/adopt. Upon receiving your application, please allow us 2-3 business days to review and process.

Story
Dex is a 12 year old terrier mix that came from a hoarding situation.  He arrived very scared, but with love and affection, has come out of his shell. Very sweet, but very timid. We think he received minimal or no human contact. This little guy will need a quiet home with someone who will be very patient with him while he continues to learn a life of love from human(s). He will take some time to trust you. He is food motivated and a fast learner. He loves to play with other dogs and is very submissive. Once you gain his trust, he's playful and likes to be pet and loves belly rubs. He does like his alone time sometimes.  ##1217955##

Story
Little Foster was running with two others and had been for a long time.  He was paralyzed with fear when we first got him.  He is now doing well witih his Foster Mom, and so very sweet. He weighs about 13 lbs and about 5 years old. He loves other dogs so he needs one at least to make him feel comfy!  He has changed so much since he came to us shaking and cowering. He is a sweet boy!  He is heartworm positive but we are treating him. Foster was found as a lost stray probably dumped. He is shy but sweet. He is about 7 years old and weighs about 15 lbs. We know he had a rough past because he was full of BB's. He will take a bit of time to trust. He will need another dog as he feels comfortable with them. You couldn't ask for a sweeter dog.He is a "yes man" so he is gentle and not an alpha dog.  He is good with cats as well. He is housebroken. He needs someone who will spoil him and pour lots of love into him. He has made great strides since being with his foster parent. He will continue to flourish with the right care. Foster is a shy little guy but he sure is cute!  He is 6 to 7 years old and weighs about 15 lbs. We think he was a homeless dog that ran the streets for most of his life. People have not always been kind to him. He has BB's in him and it takes awhile for him to trust. Once you earn it you couldn't ask for a sweeter dog. He loves being around other dogs so there will need to be at elast one so he can be at his most comfortable self. He is a "yes man", so don't worry about him ever trying to be in charge. He is also good with cats. He is housebroken as he is used to his place. He needs someone who will spoil him and pour lots of love into him. He has made huge strides since we found him and having his foster mom's support and love. He will continue to flourish with the right care.   He would be best with older children if there are any because of his shyness. He is heartworm positive but we are treating him. ##1911379##
