Story
Danielle aka Coco is a sweet, comical little girl. She loves being petted and is quick to offer her belly for tummy rubs. She enjoys tearing around the backyard, at breakneck speed but stops after a couple of laps. She loves playing with her foster buddy, Marvin (aka Vinnie), but she can sometimes challenge other small dogs. She will also initially challenge larger dogs, but stops after being put in her place a time or two with a bark from the larger dog. Coco was returned for nipping at a baby but she was okay with toddlers in her foster home when she returned to our program. Because of her history, I would not recommend placing her with babies or children under the age of 6 or so. A trial period with any other dogs in the home would be recommended. She could also be an only dog and be perfectly happy. She loves people. ****Prior to filling out an application or contacting RHS, please completely read the instructions below.**** ALL ADOPTERS/FOSTERS MUST LIVE WITHIN 60 MILES OF RICHARDSON, TX. Story
Hi, my name is Walker. The vet said I’m about 4 years old.  I am a happy boy and I love people and dogs. I weigh about 30 lbs. My activities outside including chasing squirrels and other, not to be named, varmints, as I think I have a lot of terrier in me. Playing catch and batting a tennis ball around occupies me for a while and then – SQUIRREL! Inside I have a lot of toys that my sibling shares with me. My foster mom says I make good choices and only chew on toys, because I'm a Good boy!!! My foster sibling and I have a great time. I am friendly and love to play. Treats get my attention, and I am currently in training and I know a lot! Do I bark, you might ask? Well, I am NOT a cat!, so yes, but mostly with a purpose. I am not chatty but I will let you know if I think something has changed around me. I enjoy taking walks and sniffing, and I am perfect at meeting people and dogs. My goal is to have a family that will be kind to me, love me, and give me lots of attention. I will gladly reciprocate. Having another dog in my family would be perfect. Looking forward to lots of happy tail wags! ##1747931##

Story
Dex is a 12 year old terrier mix that came from a hoarding situation.  He arrived very scared, but with love and affection, has come out of his shell. Very sweet, but very timid. We think he received minimal or no human contact. This little guy will need a quiet home with someone who will be very patient with him while he continues to learn a life of love from human(s). He will take some time to trust you. He is food motivated and a fast learner. He loves to play with other dogs and is very submissive. Once you gain his trust, he's playful and likes to be pet and loves belly rubs. He does like his alone time sometimes.  ##1217955##

Story
Little Foster was running with two others and had been for a long time.  He was paralyzed with fear when we first got him.  He is now doing well witih his Foster Mom, and so very sweet. He weighs about 13 lbs and about 5 years old. He loves other dogs so he needs one at least to make him feel comfy!  He has changed so much since he came to us shaking and cowering. He is a sweet boy!  He is heartworm positive but we are treating him. Foster was found as a lost stray probably dumped. He is shy but sweet. He is about 7 years old and weighs about 15 lbs. We know he had a rough past because he was full of BB's. He will take a bit of time to trust. He will need another dog as he feels comfortable with them. You couldn't ask for a sweeter dog.He is a "yes man" so he is gentle and not an alpha dog.  He is good with cats as well. He is housebroken. He needs someone who will spoil him and pour lots of love into him. He has made great strides since being with his foster parent. He will continue to flourish with the right care. Foster is a shy little guy but he sure is cute!  He is 6 to 7 years old and weighs about 15 lbs. We think he was a homeless dog that ran the streets for most of his life. People have not always been kind to him. He has BB's in him and it takes awhile for him to trust. Once you earn it you couldn't ask for a sweeter dog. He loves being around other dogs so there will need to be at elast one so he can be at his most comfortable self. He is a "yes man", so don't worry about him ever trying to be in charge. He is also good with cats. He is housebroken as he is used to his place. He needs someone who will spoil him and pour lots of love into him. He has made huge strides since we found him and having his foster mom's support and love. He will continue to flourish with the right care.   He would be best with older children if there are any because of his shyness. He is heartworm positive but we are treating him. ##1911379##

Story
Meet Peanut and Scruffy, a dynamic duo of delight! These two tiny tails are inseparable best friends, sharing a bond that's as strong as their love for cuddles and treats. Peanut, the shy one of the pair, is as timid as a mouse but twice as sweet. With his delicate demeanor and gentle disposition, he melts hearts with just a wag of his tail. Despite his small stature, Peanut's loyalty to his best friend Scruffy knows no bounds. Scuffy, on the other hand, may be petite, but his personality shines bright like a star. Fearless and full of zest, hes always by Peanut's side, offering comfort and companionship whenever needed. Together, they navigate the big world around them, finding courage in each other's presence. Their co-dependent relationship is evident in every wag of their tails and every snuggle shared. Whether they're exploring new adventures or simply lounging in the sun, Peanut and Scruffy prove that the best things come in small packages—and that true friendship knows no size. Peanut is the white and tan male; Scruffy is the golden blonde male. These two cuties were dumped , and after days of people trying to get them, one of them spent about an hour sitting on the side of the street with them and coaxing them to come to them..  Finally they came to her, and  she got them in a crate, took them home, bathed and feed them and have had them since.   They are both super sweet and are great little dogs.  They are playful and are healthy.. Scruffy weighs about 15 lbs ##2038136##

Story
Hi! My name is Fonzie aka "The Fonz" and I was recently rescued from the streets along with my sister, Izzy and our mom, Vanilla Bean! I'm loving life as a beloved rescue pup! I love playing with other dogs and toys and am described as the life of the party and Mr. Personality! I'm a busy pup who is sure to entertain you daily! It's estimated I was born in early May and at my first vet visit I weighed in at 9 lbs so my friends think I'll grow up to be a small dog (but we're not 100% sure-we don't know who my dad is). Please fill out an application if you think we may be a good fit for each other! Questions? Story
Sugar and Spice and everything nice, that's what this teeny tiny lady is made of! Spicy has a larger than life personality in her 7.5-pound body! At 3-months old she still has all of her goofy puppy antics that will keep you laughing! Before coming to us, Spicy had a hard life on the streets but has done a complete 180! She appreciates the good life and now loves everyone and everything. Playing, giving kisses, and being super silly are her expertise! She loves being toted around and simply being with her people. And to top it off, she is doing great at learning her manners, especially being in a crate! Spicy is the small pup with a big heart who will fill your home with love! Story
Hi, I'm a new arrival from Mesquite Animal Shelter. They guessed my age at 6 but the nice Veterinarian I saw thought I was closer to 4.  I'm a tiny girl with a big girl personality.  I love being with my people....right beside them!!  I love riding in the car.  I'm OK with other small dogs but, if I was the only pup in the house, I'd be good with that, too.  I was introduced to the neighbor's cat and didn't react. I sleep in my crate all night.  I will need a very secure fence....I only weigh 8 lbs.   Applications are at codys_adoption_application. ##2121349##
